批判实在论有助于马克思主义发展的五条途径

机械马克思主义的问题在于机械的辩证唯物主义;西方马克思主义虽然避免了机械论,但是具有目的论的先验图式,即把历史作为主观知识或阶级意识的证实过程的先验图式。这两种方法都偏离了马克思主义作为科学的社会理论的本质。批判实在论对机械论马克思主义者和西方马克思主义者的方法进行的批判,在五个方面有助于马克思主义本质的恢复,从而使我们成为纯粹朴素的马克思主义者。     

中国英语学习广告中的意识形态宣传

在英语的全球影响力之下,英语培训市场繁荣发展,意识形态的宣传也随着英语培训产业的广告话语渗入人们的思想。对中国私人英语学校的广告和网站进行批评性话语分析,发现其中含有大量意识形态的表达。这些意识形态宣传的主要策略有：将英语学习资本化、西方化,将西方教育神圣化,把英语学习等同于现代、时尚和科学,将学习者置于消费主义的幻像和快感中。这些话语作为一种社会实践,宣扬了自由竞争、消费主义、西方优越的价值观,维持、巩固西方文化的全球影响力,对中国人的本族母语态度、文化认同及道德规范具有潜移默化的负面影响。     

及物性理论与英语新闻语篇的批评分析

批评语言学认为,语篇的各个层次和各种结构都可能具有意识形态意义。新闻语篇里蕴含的意识形态意义,会体现在说话者对语篇及物性系统的选择过程中,而这种过程一般会受到说话者立场、观点、交际意图和社会语境的影响和制约。     

Culturally responsive online design: learning at intercultural intersections

Abstract

This article presents evidence-based guidelines to inform culturally responsive online learning design in higher education. Intercultural understanding is now a recognised core learning outcome in a large majority of Canadian public universities; however, supporting design methodology is underdeveloped, especially in online contexts. Our search for valid intercultural learning design criteria began with two questions: What is the research evidence for learning design practices that support intercultural learning? In what ways do current course design rubrics address intercultural learning? For answers, first we explored recent literature reviews, articles, books, professional discourse on cultural aspects of learning, and the related internationalisation and Indigenous literatures on formal learning. Next, we examined three course design rubrics commonly used in Canada to identify practice supports and gaps in relation to the literature. Various research-indicated supports are present in these rubrics; however, major gaps include critical and holistic pedagogies, explicit intercultural learning outcomes, and intentional diversity group work. The proposed guidelines synthesise key research-indicated supports for intercultural learning and show how they can be integrated in core online course design components. The guidelines present a base for online design methodology to support intercultural learning and enable formative evaluation of pedagogy, learning activity and assessment applications.     

Moral wrongs,disadvantages, and disability: a critique of critical disability studies

Critical disability studies (CDS) has emerged as an approach to the study of disability over the last decade or so and has sought to present a challenge to the predominantly materialist line found in the more conventional disability studies approaches. In much the same way that the original development of the social model resulted in a necessary correction to the overly individualized accounts of disability that prevailed in much of the interpretive accounts which then dominated medical sociology, so too has CDS challenged the materialist line of disability studies. In this paper we review the ideas behind this development and analyse and critique some of its key ideas. The paper starts with a brief overview of the main theorists and approaches contained within CDS and then moves on to normative issues; namely, to the ethical and political applicability of CDS.     

The indelible ink of the special stamp: an insider’s research essay on imprints and erasures

The medical profession ascribes otherness to people with disabilities through diagnosis and expertism, which sets in motion discursive powers that oversee their exclusion through schooling and beyond. In this paper, I present a narrative pieced together from personal experiences of ducking and weaving the deficit discourse in ‘inclusive’ education, when seeking employment and in day-to-day family interaction as a person with severely impaired vision. This work builds on previous qualitative research I conducted in Queensland, Australia with a group of young people with impaired vision who attended an inclusive secondary school. I frame this discussion using Foucault’s conception of normalising judgement against the hegemony of normalcy, and consider that inclusion for people with disabilities is reminiscent of a haunting. Through this analysis, I demonstrate how my ideology is formed, and how it in turn shapes a research agenda geared toward seeking greater inclusion for young people with disabilities in schools.     

The enforcement of normalcy in schools and the disablement of families: unpacking master narratives on parental denial

The notion that some parents may be ‘in denial’ is a pervasive theme in dominant discourses on families of children with disabilities. In this analytic essay, I deconstruct cultural and institutional master narratives on parental denial and discuss their role in the marginalization of students with disabilities in schools. I argue that discourses on parental denial privilege the perspectives of those in positions of power and control, leave the practice of ability-based segregation in schools unexamined, and discredit agency among families. Additionally, drawing from existing narrative-based research, I explore alternative interpretations of parents’ responses to their children’s differences, situating these in the framework of critical disability studies.

本文目的是论证中国小企业主对关键成功要素的洞察。在研究过程中,这些成功要素与对美国小企业所作的同样研究作对比。中国小企业的成功要素还将用于判定当企业处于生命周期的不同阶段时是否存在差异。研究发现,关键成功要素在要素结构上存在着差异,关键的不同点在于满足资金需求,以及小企业在中国的区域问题。同时也发现,关键成功要素对生命周期存在影响这一理论缺乏支持。

认识中国古代历史及其新闻传播,不仅需要解放思想,而且需要确立历史与批判两种思想意识,惟其如此,讨论中国古代新闻传播才有了基本的认识框架和理论范式。     

我国西部外语类大学生批判性思维能力现状及其教改措施?

近年来有关我国外语专业大学生“思辨缺席”的呼声越来越高。对我国西部地区外语类大学生批判性思维能力现状进行调查的数据显示,西部地区外语专业大学生的批判性思维能力与上海地区的基本持平,但与美国本科生的相差甚远,均低于美国 CCTST 所提供的常模。最后在分析影响西部地区外语类大学生批判性思维能力教学因素的基础上提出相应的教改措施。
