A sociolinguistic application of Bakhtin's authoritative and internally persuasive discourse

Through the use of two central Bakhtinian concepts, authoritative and internally persuasive discourse (word), this paper examines the tension between the ideology of linguistic hegemony as a source of power in the Greek public sphere and the condition of language shift faced by the Albanian‐speaking communities of modern Greece. I argue here that a cautious application of these two notions, which are relevant to linguistic ideology, can reveal crucial aspects of two processes: that of subordination to and that of questioning of the dominant linguistic ideology by local Albanian‐speaking communities. Thus, in language shift contexts, it is possible that no simple relations obtain that place social agents in unquestionable and easily predictable positions. Such an approach proves useful for the sociolinguistic study of threatened language communities.     

英语论文中话语联系语的对比研究

无论在篇章语言学还是在语用学研究中,话语联系语均被认为具有重要功能。篇章语言学家认为,话语联系语是实现篇章语义连贯的重要手段;语用学家认为,话语联系语的作用更多地体现在为话语的理解指路导航。本文运用基于语料库的研究方法,对比分析了中国学习者与英语母语者在英语论文中使用话语联系语的差别,结果显示:(1)中国学习者在论文写作中比母语者倾向于更多地使用联系语;(2)二者使用的联系语在语义分布上大致相同;(3)在每一类别内部具体联系语的使用上二者存在较大差异,主要表现为:学习者机械套用,欠缺必要的文体意识,及在表示列举、总结、转题和推论时,倾向于借助明显的联系语来达到发展主题的目的。本文试从连贯理论与关联理论的角度出发,对可能造成以上差异的原因进行了分析,并进一步对话语联系语的教学提出了一些建议。     

反思全球化背景下的“传统”和“话语霸权”

传统不是器物遗迹,也不是一成不变的精神规定,传统是在现代文化运行中生成的事实和意义的复合,是由不同时代的变异体组成的连续体。传统在中国现当代文艺和文艺学中并不存在截然的断裂。所谓话语霸权在当代中国也只具有十分有限的意义。中国当代文艺中也有在全球化背景下化全球的典范。传统的生成类似于基因的生成,但基因制约性在当代条件下的受到限制,为我们敲响了警钟。应对全球化冲击,我们的文艺学应具有无为和有为相统一的智慧和策略。     

阅读教学中学生英语写作能力的培养

阅读与写作关系密切 ,阅读能力和写作水平是相辅相成的。大量的阅读不仅丰富写作的内容 ,而且刺激写作兴趣 ;从语篇入手 ,给精读课文加边注、列提纲、写概要的方法 ,不仅可以培养学生独立思考、逻辑分析、语言及内容的组织和概括能力 ,而且可以使学生加深对文章的理解 ,养成良好的阅读习惯。     

Weak disintegrability as a form of preservation of coherence

Summary Weak disintegrations are investigated from various points of view. Kolmogorov's definition of conditional probability is critically analysed, and it is noted how the notion of disintegrability plays some role in connecting Kolmogorov's definition with the one given in line with de Finetti's coherence principle. Conditions are given, on the domain of a prevision, implying the equivalence between weak disintegrability and conglomerability. Moreover, weak sintegrations are characterized in terms of coherence, in de Finetti's sense, of, a suitable function. This fact enables us to give, an interpretation of weak disintegrability as a form of “preservation of coherence”. The previous results are also applied to a hypothetical inferential problem. In particular, an inference is shown to be coherent, in the sense of Heath and Sudderth, if and only if a suitable function is coherent, in de Finetti's sense.
