Moderation effect of social capital on flourishing among left-behind and other children in rural China

ABSTRACT

This study examines the ways that social capital sustains flourishing among rural Chinese children, including left-behind children (LBC). Social capital combines structural, substantive, and functional components. Data came from a survey of 995 children in rural areas of China. Results show that LBC experienced significantly lower flourishing and social capital than did other children. In addition, background factors including caretakers’ education and parental marital status had great positive effects on flourishing. Furthermore, the interaction effect of social capital and parental marital status was significantly positive on flourishing. The findings imply the need to boost social capital and flourishing in LBC. Meanwhile, maintaining parental marriage is important for boosting flourishing.

曹学佺《蜀中高僧记》,可谓蜀川"第一佛传"。考述《蜀中高僧记》中众多僧师的生卒行迹,可略知自晋至明1300年间巴蜀佛教的发展概况。巴蜀得天独厚的地理优势,获得了近八百年的安定局面,使得经济相对发达,再加上统治阶级的扶持,所有这些因素促成了唐宋巴蜀佛教的兴盛。

略论李邕

李邕是盛唐时期在文坛上有着崇高声望与巨大影响的人物,他直言极谏的政治品格,爱民疏财的仁义举动,能文养士的领袖气度,驰猎自恣的豪侠生活作风等,正是盛唐文士极其张扬个性,扬厉奋发的精神风貌的突出表现。在文章创作上,他是盛唐时期的一代文宗,其文章风格具有形象鲜明,格调高昂,气象恢宏,气势充沛等特征。置于文学发展史中,可以看出李邕是改革南朝文风,推进古文运动的一位杰出代表。但是长期以来,对李邕的研究几乎处于空白,这应该说是唐代文学研究中的一个疏漏。

玉真公主考论--以其与盛唐诗坛的关系为归结

唐玄宗的妹妹玉真公主在盛唐的政坛和文坛上都是一个颇有影响的人物 ,但是文献中关于她的资料很不完整。本文钩稽史料 ,考证、论述了她的生平、政治地位以及道教活动 ,特别是她与盛唐一些诗人的关系。她为诗人们进入仕途提供了一些帮助 ,成为诗人和唐玄宗之间互相沟通的一条重要渠道。若论其在文坛的影响 ,可谓唐代公主中的第一人。     

Quadriplegia,virtue theory,and flourishing: a qualitative study drawing on self-narratives

Grounded in the logic of the virtue tradition, the qualitative study “the good life and quadriplegia” collected the self-narratives of people that have lived with the impairment over the medium to long term. This article draws on those narratives to describe how people understood the good life in the context of the losses and hardship of their spinal-cord injury, and the virtues and attitudes that helped them to achieve it. While highlighting the importance of virtue, participant stories resisted the ideology of the positivity myth, recognising that flourishing includes hardships, limitation, and failure, as well as meaning, virtue, and accomplishment.
