Abstract

This article reports an adventure of collective creating in which learning psychology, sociology, professional learning, managerial and nature thinking came together and enriched the authors’ perspective on the methodology of practice-oriented research. It resulted in the manifestation of two base tunes and six ‘ecologically and transdisciplinarily inspired’ (ETI) research principles. The ETI perspective includes an ecological way of dealing with the social and physical research issues, which means holistic thinking and working and thinking in terms of connectedness. It also means that mono-disciplinary and interdisciplinary scientific and practical thinking need to be ‘transcended’ to deal with practitioner research issues. Other fundamental matters include dealing with wisdom, narratives, and the ecological fallacy; collectively and transdisciplinarily creating knowledge and improved practice with stakeholders, e.g. actors; and being cognitively inspired by nature.  相似文献

The People of Puerto Rico is a comprehensive ethnography of major types of rural communities in pre-1950 Puerto Rico but was less successful in reconnecting those localities in a coherent portrayal of the island's social formation. A reexamination of this work's best-known subcultures, Santa Isabel (Sidney Mintz' “Cañamelar”) and Ciales (Eric Wolf's “San José”), offers entry points to these communities, as well as to the key concepts that Mintz and Wolf constructed reciprocally through their research: rural proletarian and peasant, plantation and hacienda. Also present are the too-implicit spatial referents of these concepts—lowland and highland, foreland and hinterland—and their associated crop types, sugar and coffee. In this article, the historical space of Santa Isabel and Ciales will be reconsidered, in part with reference to often-overlooked nuances and caveats in Mintz' and Wolf's chapters. Foregrounding the spatial/ecological referent in “Cañamelar” and “San José” opens our sights to counterpoints between sugar and livestock, and to patterns of highland-lowland migration, kin networks, and social interaction. Familiar concepts take on new meanings as we discern supra-municipal, sub-insular, and intermediate island regions and move closer to specifying historical situations (Mintz) while renewing our theorization (Wolf).  相似文献

In this article we demonstrate that Yanyuwa people have detailed biological knowledge of their northern Australian environment, which is culturally defined and embedded within their relationships to country, resources and each other. Through a case study of the impact of Bufo marinus (cane toads) on Yanyuwa culture and everyday life, we argue that Aboriginal management strategies and Aboriginal peoples’ intimate knowledge of species and environment need to be understood as both legitimate and fundamental when engaging in management initiatives in Australia. We demonstrate that for Yanyuwa people emotional engagement with their environment is underpinned by a morality of social and environmental relations and that ‘memory’ is pivotal to this engagement. We conclude by briefly delineating how the adoption of a ‘moral ecology’ perspective goes some way to addressing issues pertinent to discursive encounters at cultural management frontiers.  相似文献

信息时代大众传媒高速发展,媒介在社会政治、经济、文化建设中起到了不可替代的作用。在这样的形势下,我国农村大众媒介的接触情况仍不乐观,农村传媒生态的良性发展环境还有待进一步建设。本课题通过对吉林省四平地区农村传媒受众接触情况及传媒环境的抽样调查分析和研究,总结农村传媒生态存在的问题。提出相应对策,有益于优化农村传媒生态,使大众传媒在新农村建设中发挥更大的作用。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This article has two broad aims. The first is to treat and write of nonhuman animals and their lives, deaths, and suffering at the hands of humans and human infrastructure as important to theory, politics, and policy. The second is to explore how social theory can think creatively about specific examples in which nonhuman animals are affected by and need more from human infrastructures – especially those built for human mobility. These two broad aims will be narrowed to consider nonhuman animal deaths upon roads, focused on the potential for enriching human and nonhuman animal life through creative thinking, ethically minded road design, and the acknowledgement of shared vulnerability. In pursuit of these aims it will necessarily focus attention on the experience of human mobility on nonhuman animals, forging an approach that keeps an ethics of entanglement and care at the forefront.  相似文献

The reproduction ofSogatella furcifera was investigated in a chemically fertilized rice field and an organically farmed field. In the latter, the density of immigrants was significantly higher, while the settling rate of female adults and the survival rate of immature stages of ensuing generations were lower. The number of eggs laid by a female of the invading and following generations was smaller, and the percentage of brachypterous females in the next generation was also lower. Consequently, the density of nymphs and adults in the ensuing generations decreased in the organically farmed field. For an experimental comparison, potted rice plants were cultivated using seedlings and soil from the chemically fertilized or the organically farmed fields. WhenSogatella furcifera was reared on these plants, both the reproductive rate and the appearance rate of brachypterous female adults were lower in the organic treatment. Egg hatchability was also lower in the organic treatment. This experiment suggested that a specific nutritional condition in rice plants suppressed the population ofS. furcifera in the organically farmed field.  相似文献

应歌时代的宋词以歌妓为传播媒介,歌妓在词的产生、传播和创作中均产生了重要作用。近年来,随着媒介生态学的兴起,把传播媒介看做生命体放在社会大环境下考察,认为媒介并不是机械地进行信息交换,而是不断与社会环境互动,参与到整个传播的全过程中来。歌妓作为一种传播媒介不是中性的、透明的和无价值标准的渠道,只管把宋词的信息从一个地方传递到另一个地方,其生存的社会环境制约、身份的限定等等因素都对宋词的传播产生着影响,其独特的生物特征和符号特征也带来了宋词传播的思想、情感、社会、内容等的偏向,最终产生了独特的宋词文化。  相似文献
