Inference for current leukemia free survival

Donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) for patients who relapse following an allogeneic stem cell transplant has proved remarkably durable. Because of the potential for second remissions with DLI, the current leukemia free survival (CLFS), which is the probability that a patient has not failed the entire course of the treatment, is becoming of interest to clinical investigators. Based on either a multistate Markov model or a linear combination of Kaplan–Meier estimators, we explore regression models for the CLFS. We focus on the two sample problem and we develop confidence bands for the CLFS or for differences in CLFS as well as a Kolmogorov type hypothesis test using a re-sampling technique. We also examine the use of pseudo-values to make inference on the direct effects of covariates on the CLFS function and we develop a score test for the equality of two CLFS. We illustrate these inference methods on a bone marrow transplant dataset.

通过对康奈尔大学＂康奈尔计划＂的背景分析,凸显了美国大学在办学实践中的务实和多元融合精神。通过对＂5＋9＂课程模式,即5类通识课程和9类职业课程以及独特的必修课程选择等描述,重点剖析了＂康奈尔计划＂中自由教育与实用教育的统一、通用课程与学科平等性的统一及其所体现的民主化与社会化精神。并从普通与高职两类院校学生素质缺失等方面深刻阐述了＂康奈尔计划＂对于当代大学定位及学生综合素质培养的重要启发意义。     

On assessing the presence of evaluation‐time bias in progression‐free survival in randomized trials

Evaluation (or assessment)–time bias can arise in oncology trials that study progression‐free survival (PFS) when randomized groups have different patterns of timing of assessments. Modelling or computer simulation is sometimes used to explore the extent of such bias; valid results require building such simulations under realistic assumptions concerning the timing of assessments. This paper considers a trial that used a logrank test where computer simulations were based on unrealistic assumptions that severely overestimated the extent of potential bias. The paper shows that seemingly small differences in assumptions can lead to dramatic differences in the apparent operating characteristics of logrank tests. Some partially sequential nonparametric tests for detecting linear trend

In the present study, we develop two nonparametric partially sequential tests for detecting possible presence of linear trend among the incoming series of observations. We assume that a sample of fixed size is available a priori from some unknown univariate continuous population and there is no sign of trend among these historical observations. Our proposed tests can be viewed as the sequential type tests for monitoring structural changes. We use partial sequential sampling schemes based on usual ranks as well as on sequential ranks. We provide detailed discussion on asymptotic studies related to the proposed tests. We compare the two tests under various situations. We also present some numerical results based on simulation studies. Proposed tests are extremely important in profit making in volatile market through Margin Trading. We illustrate the mechanism with a detailed analysis of a stock price data.     

管理者过度自信、自由现金流与上市公司多元化

本文放宽了传统的公司多元化动机理论的决策者理性假设,从行为金融学和自由现金流视角,以我国沪深两市2007-2010年间的上市公司为样本,研究了管理者过度自信、自由现金流以及两者的交互效应对于上市公司多元化的影响。本文的研究结论表明:管理者过度自信促进了上市公司的多元化;丰富的自由现金流对上市公司多元化有显著的正向影响;当公司自由现金流充裕时,与管理者非过度自信的公司相比,管理者过度自信的公司的多元化水平更高。
