One of the most important topics in manufacturing industries is the evaluation of performance lifetimes of products. Based on a given lifetime performance index, this paper deals with evaluating the performance of a process subject to a given lower specification limit. We confine ourselves to the progressively first-failure-censored data coming from a common Pareto distribution. With both the Bayesian and the non-Bayesian approaches being investigated here, we pay more attention to Bayesian estimators under balanced type loss functions. The results are presented under the balanced versions of two well-known loss functions, namely the squared error loss and the Varian's linear-exponential (LINEX) loss. Moreover, based on the Bayesian and the non-Bayesian approaches, the problem of testing hypotheses on the lifetime performance index is studied. Also, a simulation study is performed to assess the obtained results. Finally, two illustrative examples are given.  相似文献

Although the significance of sustainable municipal energy management has not yet been widely recognized in Ukraine, important steps to popularize this idea among local authorities have been taken through the introduction of the Display® campaign in 11 Ukrainian municipalities. This European voluntary energy and environmental performance certification system of buildings aims to encourage local authorities to publicly demonstrate the energy and environmental performance of their buildings and to thereby convince citizens to stop wasting energy and water. This paper analyzes to what extent the campaign has been valuable for sustainable energy management in those Ukrainian cities that have set an example of an active bottom-up approach to enhancing the integration of a former Soviet Union country in the European Union on account of their support of the associations Energy Cities and “Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine”, as well as their own endeavors to implement EU climate protection policy.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this article, we argue that to extend the research on performance management we need to examine further how organisational members interweave the technology of such management into their work. Using Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy, we question the notion that technology acts on bodies in a linear manner as ‘meat’ to be manipulated. His reversible ontology suggests that these materials can be woven into the flesh of organising in a multitude of ways. Specifically, we refer to professional rugby, and the manner in which its players utilise the technology of performance management, to forge a localised expression of sacrifice. We suggest that this expression provides a means for players to define and evaluate themselves against ‘good rugby’. As forms of evaluation may vary in organisations, we recommend that researchers do not solely associate performance management with metrics but also look to other, more localised, expressions to inform their work.  相似文献

Flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) philosophy is a key weapon in achieving global manufacturing competitiveness. It encompasses a wide range of dimensions to improve all aspects of operational performance metrics. The aim of the study is to examine the current state of flexibility adoption in U.S. automotive manufacturing facilities and its impact on operational performance metrics. It utilizes survey questionnaire developed based on previous work in U.S. manufacturing industry. The survey was originally distributed to 420 facility managers in the U.S. domestic automotive industry. It was revealed that 70% of the respondents had implemented all 15 flexibility dimensions listed in the questionnaire. The data analysis conducted shows that implementation of certain flexibility dimensions will lead to significant improvement in specific operational performance metrics. This considerable finding can be used as a guide for manufacturing managers to achieve certain objectives in operational performance improvement in a rapidly changing environment.  相似文献

本文深入剖析了我国证券公司领导权配置模式,并对比分析了不同类型的领导权配置模式对公司绩效的影响。研究表明,我国证券公司主要存在哑铃模式、蘑菇模式、橄榄模式以及圆柱模式等四种类型的领导权配置模式,其中蘑菇模式是我国证券公司领导权配置的主流和推荐选择;我国证券公司党委的政治核心作用配置于决策权更有利于提高公司绩效。本文的研究对于规范和加强我国证券公司党委的政治核心作用、进一步完善我国证券公司治理机制具有重要意义。

Abstract

A review of the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management(1992-2001) was conducted to determine how “systemic” the applied behavioral interventions were. Criteria for the term “systemic” in an organizational behavior context were derived from Rummler and Brache's (1995) Human Performance System (HPS). Six dependent measures derived from Rummler and Brache's HPS were used to evaluate the systemic nature of the interventions. The dependent variables were classified into one of three mutually exclusive categories: whether the variable was modified, discussed but not modified, or absent. The classification of variables was used to determine the degree to which an intervention was “systemic.” Results indicated that considerations of systemic factors were often modified and rarely merely discussed. A majority of the studies examined dealt with 2, 3, or 4 of the 6 systemic variables evaluated.  相似文献

Attracting philanthropic donations is a strategic imperative for many hospitals. A hospital can manage the giving process most effectively by developing a well‐managed hospital foundation. This study examines the hospital foundation strategy and performance relationship. 在过去的关于企业多元化的研究中,大多研究者没有关注国家环境或者区域环境对于企业多元化的影响。本研究采取数理统计方法,根据理论建立假设模型,并对之进行检验,旨在探索多元化战略与企业绩效在不同国家环境下是否存在显著关系。研究结论认为,环境因素既是企业实施多元化战略的极其重要的影响因素,又是影响多元化战略绩效的关键因子。  相似文献
