Single Session Social Work in Hospitals

This paper reports on three complementary research studies that set out to examine the incidence and nature of single sessions in hospital social work practice. The first study was a data‐mining exercise that used statistics recorded by practitioners in nine public hospitals over a 12‐month period to establish the extent of single session work, the clinical areas in which it occurred, and the types of issues it covered. This quantitative information was enhanced with the qualitative findings of the two subsequent studies: the first with hospital social workers; and the second with singlesession clients. We concluded that single session work has not been sufficiently acknowledged in social work education and literature, and that it needs to become a more legitimate part of social work practice and training. At best, it represents social work at its highest level of skill, requiring expertise in quickly building rapport, assessment, and knowledge about sources of practical aid and information.     

沭阳县乡镇医院人力资源现况分析

目的：通过对沭阳县部分乡镇医院卫生人力资源状况的调查与分析,发现其中存在的问题,探讨政府在乡镇医院卫生人力的提高、培养、引进等方面承担的责任,以及政府履行职能的措施、途径和方法。方法：采用问卷调查的方式,对人力资源基本资料的总量、学历、职称构成进行整合。结果：获得沭阳县部分乡镇医院卫生人力资源的基本现状。存在问题为改制以来沭阳县乡镇医院卫生人力资源总量不足,总体素质不高等。结论：改制后沭阳县乡镇医院人力队伍各方面情况改善不明显。政府以及各相关部门要积极做好乡镇医院卫生人力资源配置规划,搭建促进人才提高的平台,提升乡镇医院现有卫生人员业务素质,督促乡镇医院要做好卫生人力的定位和培养方案。     

我国医院的供应链管理模式与构建

从供应链与供应链管理的概念出发,在分析医药行业供应链的现状与发展趋势的基础上,提出了医药行业供应链的结构模型,通过分析医院在医药行业供应链中所处的位置与作用,对供应链管理模式中医院的经营与管理进行了探讨。     

Sociality and transnational social space in the making of medical tourism: local actors and Indonesian patients in Malaysia

ABSTRACT

We investigate international medical travel between Indonesia and Malaysia through the conceptual lens of sociality, transnational social space and therapeutic mobilities. Drawing upon narratives of local persons, medical traveller-patients, accompanying family members, hospital staff and medical travel facilitators, we illustrate how multifaceted linkages and processes generate and sustain the flow of patients across the border. In these narratives, we see multiple mobilities articulate and cross-cut in the building of transnational connections. This paper stretches the concept of transnational social space to apply to medical travel and contributes to the literature framing of international medical travel as a complex and multifaceted arena.     

Towards Customized Deliberations

ABSTRACT

The profession of social work has important contributions to make in the rapidly developing dialog about medical care decision making and to the evolution of hospitals as systems that engage with people as patients, for whom illnesses create increased vulnerability (Gruber, 1998). Professional ethics clearly states that the individual professional social worker has a responsibility to influence processes involving vulnerable populations. Articulating social work's responsibility and potential contributions in the area of medical care decision making begins with an application of social work's mission and values, and then continues with consideration of the profession's evolving role in hospitals. Pertinent aspects of the health care industry, including current models for continuum of care and for provider-patient relationships, are discussed in terms of opportunities to modify the models used to guide interactions with patients. Finally, the impact of a growing number of distinct treatment options is also considered. The objective of the article is to offer social workers in health care settings a conceptual framework for considering professional ethical obligations and for participating in the contemporary dialog regarding medical care decision-making.     

对我国社会资本办医的思考及建议

文章通过总结我国社会资本办医的现状,分析江苏省某市49家民营医院2009～2011年的业务活动情况,揭示民营医院发展过程中存在的问题,提出相关的政策建议。如对举办医疗机构的社会资本要有所选择,合理设置民营医疗机构,提供民营医疗机构平等的竞争机会,引导民营医院规模化发展,提高市场占有量,提高民营医院管理水平、提升竞争力,对民营医院加强监管。     

优化非直属附属医院教育教学职能的探讨

目前在高校附属医院建设中,教育教学职能的优化是重要问题,本文提出了优化非直属附属医院教育教学职能的价值,并根据存在的问题和挑战,提出要强化学校对优化附属医院教育教学职能的指导,加强医院领导认识的重要性并结合医院自身的有关条件,不断优化附属医院教育教学职能等六项措施。
