Comparisons of several Pareto distributions based on record values

In order to avoid wrong conclusions in any further analysis, it is of importance to conduct a formal comparison for characteristic quantities of the distributions. These characteristic quantities we are familiar with include mean, quantity and reliability function, and so on. In this paper, we consider two tests aiming at the comparisons for function of parameters in Pareto distribution based on record values. They are generalized p-value-based test and parametric bootstrap-based test, respectively. The resulting procedures are easy to compute and are applicable to small samples. A simulation study is conducted to investigate and compare the performance of the proposed tests. A phenomenon we note is that generalized p-value-based test almost uniformly outperforms the parametric bootstrap-based test.     

Measures of inaccuracy in record values

In this paper , we consider a measure of inaccuracy between distributions of the nth record value and parent random variable. We also propose the measure of residual inaccuracy of record values and study characterization results of dynamic cumulative residual inaccuracy measure. We discuss some properties of the proposed measures.     

IT服务企业中文化对知识共享与创新行为关系的影响

在全球一体化进程加速、IT服务企业员工文化价值取向趋于多元化的背景下,有必要了解员工文化观念对企业的影响。本文研究员工的集体主义观念和权力距离观念对IT服务企业中知识共享与创新行为之间关系的影响。在北京、西安的具有不同文化特色的IT服务企业进行问卷调查,收集了484份问卷,运用SPSS及SmartPLS进行数据分析。研究结果表明:员工的集体主义观念增强时,知识共享对创新行为的影响会增加;权力距离增大时,知识共享对创新行为的影响会减弱。对实践的启示是:管理者应培养、提高员工的集体主义文化价值观;根据公司的企业文化特色,区分对待员工权力距离对知识共享与创新行为之间关系的影响作用。

社会主义核心价值观元素来源应该是多方面的。马克思主义指导思想、中国特色社会主义的共同理想、以爱国主义为核心的民族精神、以改革创新为核心的时代精神以及社会主义荣辱观等构成社会主义核心价值观诸元素的主要来源。在中国社会主义核心价值体系构建中,融入爱国主义、民族自强、和谐诚信等传统文化元素,表现出中华民族的文化自信,更有利于形成民族文化共识,它必定带来中华民族新的文化繁荣。     

非法证据排除规则实施的制约因素和对策分析

刑事诉讼法明确规定了非法证据排除规则,但其实施却受多种因素的制约。首先,从环境因素看,我国法律缺乏足够的权威,非法证据排除规则目前难以从现有法律体系中获得力量。其次,从主观上看,它受到社会占统治地位的意识形态、刑事法律的主要精神、社会传统价值观念的制约。其三,从客观上看,其实施会受到行政机关的影响。要从根本上解决非法证据排除规则的实施问题,要实现法治,树立法律的权威,当前要做的是逐步解决上面提及的阻碍其实施的具体因素。

自由主义的理论困境主要有个人优先与社会优先之争、权利与善之争、自由至上与多元价值之争等3个方面,这种困境不仅来自于理论与实践的冲突,更多来自于资本主义生产方式,并由此使得社会性危机成为资本主义社会的梦魇,研究自由主义的理论困境对于回应和反击西方意识形态的渗透,维护马克思主义意识形态在社会主义核心价值体系中的引领作用具有重要的战略意义和时代价值。

当今世界处于信息化时代,国家竞争力在很大程度上是文化软实力的竞争。核心价值观是文化软实力的核心要素,是国家的核心竞争力。中国特色社会主义核心价值观是中国未来发展的灵魂和标尺。国家核心价值观的建设是增强文化软实力,提升国家形象的关键,是中华民族走向复兴的关键。党的十八大提出"三个提倡",进一步凝炼社会主义核心价值观,集中体现了中国文化软实力的精神实质与发展方向。     

Entrance and Exit from the Military

Abstract

The literature that addresses the reasons for entering military service is limited and generally does not report on the experiences of ethnic minority populations. This article reports on findings from a qualitative research study that examined health utilization and health status for a sample of 86 American Indian and Alaska Native veterans. The study generated data that provide interesting insights about the reasons for entering military service and experiences post discharge for this population. The data indicate that cultural material plays a significant role in the decision to enter the military and in the reentry experience of the veterans who participated in this research study. The analysis supports the proposition that despite the diversity that characterizes the American Indian and Alaska Native experience, there are overarching values and belief systems that are held in common across tribal communities which influence the social construction of life and the interpretation of life events.
