Social Work Values and Principles: Students' Experiences in intervention with Children and Youths in Detention

A project with children and juveniles in a detention centre confronts social work students with their own perceptions and experiences of being direct or indirect victims of crime, with their own values and with integrating the values and principles of social work. Within an ecological perspective, past and present issues in the country's context influence perceptions and personal values. The project challenges these perceptions and value systems. Feedback include that students realise they should not judge the young people; that these youngsters have dignity and worth in spite of where they come from and the crime they committed; that they deserve respect and should be accepted for who they are. The article discusses professional values and principles in social work and provides a case study of dealing with undergraduate social work students' fears, emotions and prejudices in teaching and integrating social work values and principles.     

Universalism,conservation and attitudes toward minority groups

Findings from previous studies corroborate the hypothesis that universalism and conservation values are associated with negative attitudes toward immigration. In the current study we examine whether universalism and conservation values also play a critical role in the explanation of attitudes toward other minority groups. Drawing on previous research on group-focused enmity, we explore its relations with universalism and conservation values in a German sample. Employing structural equation modeling, we find that individuals who prioritize universalism values approve of various minorities more whereas those who prioritize conservation values exhibit more disapproval.     

社会主义荣辱观与大学生价值观的塑造

社会主义荣辱观和社会主义价值观在内涵和本质上具有一致性。在现实社会生活中,人们多样化的荣辱观往往源于社会生活中多元化的价值观。当前,加强大学生的荣辱观、价值观教育十分必要也非常紧迫,并应遵循主体性、针对性和实践性三大原则。加强大学生的荣辱观教育、塑造大学生的价值观应从课程体系的科学建构、教育环境的进一步优化以及评价机制的不断完善等三个层面宏观的建立长效机制。     

论日语多重表达的文化价值

在人类文明的进程中,思想与情感的交流是靠语言来实现的。语言既是文化的载体,又是文化的表现。语言丰富着文化,有时也透支着文化。日语的表达充满了谦和、忍让和恭敬,反映了日本文化的兼容并蓄、内敛平和及功利追求的特点。文章试图通过研究日本语言的透支现象、本土特点及创新趋势来探究日本文化的价值。对日语多种表达方式的研究,有助于了解日本语言的发展和文化的衍进,进而把握日本语言文化的特点与内涵,藉此促进中日两国文化交流。     

A Mixed Methods Examination of Adolescents' Reports of the Values Emphasized in Their Families

Building on value socialization and personal values theories, this study examined adolescents' open‐ended reports of the values their families emphasize. Based on open‐ended reports of an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse sample of adolescents, we described adolescent‐reported familial values using qualitative and cluster analysis techniques. Adolescents' open‐ended responses about the values held by their families were coded using a prominent circumplex value model, and values largely, but not completely, aligned with this model. Using person‐oriented cluster analysis on the coded data, seven distinct value clusters were identified that captured various sets of values that adolescents hear from families. Several demographic differences emerged among the clusters, and mean differences by familial value cluster were found for adolescents' close‐ended reports of values of helping others and religiosity. Results suggest that adolescents are able to articulate values emphasized in their families in ways that fit a universal structure of values; these values are related in meaningful ways to the values that they themselves want to live by.     

基于社会主义核心价值观教育的高职校园文化建设

近年来,在高职校园培育和践行社会主义核心价值观过程中存在诸多文化失范现象,究其原因有来自外部环境压力和内部教育缺陷的双重困境。新时期大学生核心价值观教育应以重树批判精神、培育创新精神和涵养人文精神为主要内容,通过一元化主导和多元化包容、发展现代教育的载体与机制、充分运用网络新媒体工具、发挥评议与激励效应等路径加以培育。     

Private Self‐consciousness and Gender Moderate How Adolescents' Values Relate to Aggression

The relationship between values and aggression and the moderating roles of gender and private self‐ consciousness (PSC) on these relations were examined. Participants were 642 Arabic and Jewish adolescents in Israel (M age = 13.79, SD = .51; 53.9 percent females). Values and PSC were measured by self‐reports and aggression was measured by peer nominations. Aggression was positively correlated with self‐enhancement and openness to change values, and negatively correlated with self‐transcendence and conservation values. The results also suggested that PSC and gender play an important role in moderating these relations. The study's contributions to value theory and its practical implications are discussed.     

论教育遗产的文化价值及其保护利用

教育遗产是各个时代产生一定社会影响的、在一定范围内得到认可的、具有代表性的早期学校、图书馆、学术机构等有关教育的遗存。我国现存教育遗产可分为五个类型:孔庙、书院、早期学校遗存、图书馆旧址、其他教育遗产。教育遗产具有文化传承、隐形教育和美育的功能。结合实际,就教育遗产的保护和利用来说,应在保护其物质文化遗产的基础上,发挥其非物质文化遗产的功能。     

On upper bounds for the characteristic values of the covariance matrix for multinomial,dirichlet and multivariate hypergeometric distributions

For the characteristic values T1 of the matrix V:=Diag(p)-pp^T with p=(p1,...,pk), p1≥p2≥...≥pk≥pk+1>0 and p1+p2+...+pk+pk+1=1 the inequalities p1≥τ1≥p2≥τ2≥...≥pk≥τk>0 are given by RONNING (1982). These inequalities give, if p and pk+1 are unknown, the upper bound 1≥T1. However, in this note the bound 1/2≥T1 is derived. V is proportional to the covariance matrix for multinomial, Dirichlet and multivariate hypergeometric distributions. A statistical application for the multinomial distribution is given.     

城市高年级小学生价值观发展初探

本文对部分高年级小学生价值观的发展现状进行了初步的调查研究 ,结果显示 :被调查儿童已逐渐形成了尊重知识、渴望友谊、注重身体健康、以家庭为重的基本价值观 ;同时发现 ,被调查儿童缺少群体生活 ,对他人不够关心 ,责任感淡漠 ,环保意识有待加强。由此指出对小学生价值观引导的重要性
