Do self‐assessment and self‐directed support undermine traditional social work with disabled people?

In recent years, self‐assessment and self‐directed support have become mainstream options within disability services. The Disabled People’s Movement has advocated the need for such change for a long time but this has been persistently resisted by many social workers. In this article, it will be argued that both self‐assessment and self‐directed support undermine traditional social work and that social workers need to begin to work alongside disabled people, rather than ‘for’ disabled people, in order to achieve substantial system change.

Development of intercultural competence among US American teachers: professional development factors that enhance competence

The increasing diversity of the student age population in the USA calls for increased cultural competence on behalf of educators to effectively teach students. This article reports on a study of a suburban school district’s initiatives that utilized the Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity, the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) as a baseline measurement tool, and subsequent professional development for teachers, to promote the development of intercultural competence. ANOVA and regression analysis models were used to determine the variables that affect teachers’ perceived intercultural competence after their participation in professional development.

"文学话语活动"无疑是童庆炳主编的《文学理论教程》的一个理论亮点。它既追溯到文学研究的历史起点,又坚持了文学研究的逻辑起点,即文学话语活动自身。这一部分的论述体现出教材编写的理论个性。但也存在一些不足。文章希望通过对教材"文学话语活动"理论的具体剖析,有助于《教程》的进一步完善和教材的编写。     

“基础资产”选择过程中的法律瓶颈——对于“债权”与“收益权”的法律评析

在比较法研究的基础上结合中国相关的法律概念、规则和制度对2006年中国证监会发布的《关于证券公司开展资产证券化业务试点有关问题的通知》中基础资产的分类、概念、特征描述部分给予法律评析。进而分析通知中的分类是否与中国现有法律环境相匹配;不同种类的基础资产在被用于资产证券化时存在哪些法律障碍;最后对不同种类的基础资产如何在中国法律项下进行资产证券化提出自己的建议。     

基于机构投资者的董事会效率变化研究

利用面板数据模型研究了机构投资者对董事会效率的影响。研究结果发现,机构持股比例与当期的董事会规模、董事会独立性、领导权机构、董事会激励机制和董事会会议次数无显著相关关系,但与后期的董事会独立性和董事会会议次数之间存在显著相关性,从而证实了机构投资者对董事会效率的提高有积极作用,这对目前我国监管机构提倡大力培育机构投资者的政策有一定的参考意义。     

产业转型、公共支持与农民工就业转变研究

产业转型和政府公共支持是影响农民工就业转变的两个重要因素。从产业转型对农民工就业转变影响、公共支持对农民工就业转变影响、产业转型与公共支持二者间的关系等方面对我国产业转型、公共支持与农民工就业结构文献进行了归纳和评述。在评述的基础上,还对促进农民工实现就业转变进行了深入分析。

西部地区幼儿教师“国培”满意度与影响因素分析——以重庆市某国培班为例

以重庆市部分参与西部地区幼儿教师脱产置换学员为调查对象,分别调查了学员对培训课程实现自己专业理念与师德、专业知识、专业能力发展的满意度。结果发现各方对“幼儿教师国培”项目目的的理解、承办“国培”单位的管理能力和参与培训幼儿教师的主观态度是影响幼儿教师国培项目满意度的主要影响因素。     

Conditions for Exercising Residents’ Voting Rights in Long-Term Care Residences: A Prospective Multicenter Study

To assess voting conditions in long-term care settings, we conducted a multicenter survey after the 2009 European elections in France. A questionnaire about voting procedures and European elections was proposed in 146 out of 884 randomized facilities. Sixty-four percent of facilities answered the questionnaire. Four percent of residents voted (national turnout: 40%), by proxy (58%) or at polling places (42%). Abstention related to procedural issues was reported in 32% of facilities. Sixty-seven percent of establishments had voting procedures, and 53% declared that they assessed residents’ capacity to vote. Assistance was proposed to residents for voter registration, for proxy voting, and for voting at polling places, respectively, in 33%, 87%, and 80% of facilities. This survey suggests that residents may be disenfranchised and that more progress should be made to protect the voting rights of residents in long-term care facilities.
