新时期乡村知识分子的新变化

新时期的中国乡村,在内外多重力量的作用下,快速实现着从传统向现代的转变。在乡村经济政治文化不断发展的过程中,乡村知识分子这一群体在工作身份、价值观念、社会声望、知识结构、居住地域上都发生着历史性的新变化。充分认识乡村知识分子的这些新变化,不仅有助于我们在理论上深化对乡村知识分子的理解,而且有助于在实践中更好地发挥这一群体的社会作用。     

‘Allowed into a Man's World’ Meanings of Work–Life Balance: Perspectives of Women Civil Engineers as ‘Minority’ Workers in Construction

This article discusses how women working as civil engineers within the UK construction industry perceive work–life balance and considers strategies they use to achieve this. The findings are presented of a qualitative research project that explored the experiences of women in this role, focusing on the subcultural context of a profession that is dominated by the values of presenteeism and infinite availability. A feminist post‐structuralist framework is used to analyse how women negotiate their personal and professional time and the extent to which their other roles as carers and nurturers unsettle male work practices in this highly gendered profession. There are gradually increasing numbers of women in professional construction roles and their success appears to depend on being able to fit in to the dominant masculine culture of long working hours and the male pub gathering. Despite an increased presence, women's minority status in construction continues to challenge their professional identity and this is central to the conflict many face between the dual roles of corporate worker and private non‐work person.

知识分子革命者的成长,是一个漫长而艰巨的历程。丁玲《在医院中时》是一部真实展现知识分子成长的代表作。抗战时期,大批知识分子奔赴革命圣地延安,壮大了革命力量。然而由于知识分子自身的弱点,对他们的改造也很艰巨。文中陆萍的成长具有普遍的代表性,透过她经历的过程,可以看到大批知识分子革命者成长的轨迹。     

从美国知识女性的崛起看妇女要求解放的规律

19世纪末20世纪初美国的知识女性为妇女解放、社会改革做出了显著贡献,崛起为人格独立并富于社会责任感的“新女性”,她们不仅敢于挑战传统的两性地位观念、追求健康开放的生活新方式,而且走向了职业化、组织化和社会化,并为争取参政权等各项妇女权利而奋斗。实际上,19世纪末20世纪初美国知识女性的崛起与种种努力体现了妇女在要求解放的过程中其自身角色的家庭型—社会型—政治型的共性转变规律。     

Positive Manhood Development: A Look at Approaches and Concerns from the Frontline

This mixed methods study, using the perspectives of administrators and frontline workers, identified the key developmental needs of African American boys involved in manhood development programs. Five conceptual themes emerged: values and behavior; men needed for guidance; successful organizations; economics and systems; and stable quality parenting. Themes from the conceptual clusters are compared to themes in the positive youth development literature, specifically the 40 developmental assets framework proposed by the Search Institute. The resulting distinctive ecological focus is rarely discussed in the youth development literature and may have implications for youth development interventions that target positive African American manhood development.     

湛江师范学院男排运动员身体素质研究

运用测量法、文献资料法、评分计算法和数理统计法,对湛江师范学院男排运动员的13项身体素质进行统计学分析,且对不同位置、不同特征、不同个体的男子排球运动员的身体素质进行优劣研究和分析,从而寻找运动员的训练基本规律和关键因素,能较好地揭示其内在规律,为制定不同位置排球运动员身体素质训练的计划与训练比重提供理论依据.     

Strategies of Stigma Resistance Among Canadian Gay-Identified Sex Workers

Abstract

The purpose of the current study was to explore how sex workers (specifically, gay-identified Canadian men working primarily, though not exclusively, as independent escorts) combat the pervasive negativity that surrounds their profession. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 9 men, a majority of whom were targeted through escort review boards. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and analysed for themes of “stigma resistance.” Four themes were identified: (1) escorting is volitional (i.e., one isn't forced to work as an escort, rather it is a choice one makes); (2) escorting is a profession (i.e., the client is a customer and the escort a service provider); (3) the escort is in control during client/escort interchanges; and (4) escorting is distinct from, and better than, street prostitution. Directions for future research and limitations of the current study are outlined.     

知识分子与和谐社会的构建

知识分子的内涵应考虑教育、职业以及精神特质等三个方面的基本内容。在参考西方理论界关于知识分子界定的同时,应充分考虑中国的特殊国情。新时期知识分子队伍发生了巨大变化,他们的数量规模不断扩大,身份隶属多样,社会流动加快,价值观念日益多元化。知识分子在和谐社会的构建中发挥着不可替代的特殊重要作用,他们是物质文明的推进者、民主法治的建设者、和谐文化的构建者和社会稳定的维护者。
