老子“袭常”美德论

虽然在法度与道德谁决定谁的问题上众说纷纭，但两者内在的联系是无人怀疑的。社会主义核心价值观中法治目标的最终实现，仅仅依靠法度本有的威慑力是不够的；它无法离开个人循法意识的支持。而老子“袭常”美德的运思，无疑对人的因袭意识的养成具有积极意义；在当今文化强国的战略中，也是值得重视的文化资源之一。     

Liking and disliking minority-group classmates: Explaining the mixed findings for the influence of ethnic classroom composition on interethnic attitudes

Research on the influence of the number of ethnic minority group classmates on majority group students’ interethnic attitudes produced conflicting results. With data from 728 early adolescents, we found that the effect of the ethnic class composition depends on two opposing student-level mechanisms. First, majority group students who liked a larger number of minority group classmates developed more positive attitudes toward minority groups. Second, students who disliked a larger number of outgroup classmates developed more negative outgroup attitudes. In our sample, these two effects neutralized each other because the sample consisted of about the same number of students that liked most of their outgroup classmates and students that disliked most outgroup classmates. Results were consistent in cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses. These results support a new interpretation of the mixed findings in past research, suggesting that past studies may have differed in the number of students who liked and disliked outgroup classmates.

朝鲜语的状语词尾＂■＂与汉语的结构助词＂地＂在各自的语言中都是典型的状语标志。在很多情况下,朝鲜语的状语词尾＂■＂在汉语中经常对应于结构助词＂地＂。＂■＂与＂地＂的主要功能是,与前面的成分结合以后成状语,并修饰其后的谓词性成分,这是它们的共同特点。它们的不同点是＂■＂只能用在谓词性成分之后,而＂地＂则可以用在谓词性成分和体词性成分之后,两者之间有一定的对应规律。

Modified minimum covariance determinant estimator and its application to outlier detection of chemical process data

To overcome the main flaw of minimum covariance determinant (MCD) estimator, i.e. difficulty to determine its main parameter h, a modified-MCD (M-MCD) algorithm is proposed. In M-MCD, the self-adaptive iteration is proposed to minimize the deflection between the standard deviation of robust mahalanobis distance square, which is calculated by MCD with the parameter h based on the sample, and the standard deviation of theoretical mahalanobis distance square by adjusting the parameter h of MCD. Thus, the optimal parameter h of M-MCD is determined when the minimum deflection is obtained. The results of convergence analysis demonstrate that M-MCD has good convergence property. Further, M-MCD and MCD were applied to detect outliers for two typical data and chemical process data, respectively. The results show that M-MCD can get the optimal parameter h by using the self-adaptive iteration and thus its performances of outlier detection are better than MCD.     

Can TV shows promote acceptance of sexual and ethnic minorities? A literature review of television effects on diversity attitudes

Until recently, western TV programming rarely featured sexual or ethnic minority members; if present, their representation was mostly negative. Increasingly, though, diverse characters start to play likeable protagonists as well. Thus, television can promote negative diversity attitudes and, at other times, positive ones. The present article reviews and connects theories and research from sociology, psychology, and media and communication studies to clarify the role of television in diversity attitudes formation and to identify directions for future research. Specifically, two research questions are addressed. First, through which processes does television influence diversity attitudes? Second, what features of TV shows contribute to positive diversity attitudes formation among viewers, according to different theories of television effects? Findings indicate that television can entrench existing negative diversity attitudes through the echo chamber phenomenon. However, TV content featuring numerous, likeable, attractive, and typical minority characters that have friendly interactions with the rest of society can promote positive diversity attitudes. Future research should study openness to view content with minority characters, examine the effects of the complete video media diets, check media effects in non-western countries, explore media effects in longitudinal studies and investigate what constitutes attractive, likeable, and typical representation of ethnic and sexual minorities.     

A lower bound based smoothed quasi-Newton algorithm for group bridge penalized regression

In this paper, we propose a lower bound based smoothed quasi-Newton algorithm for computing the solution paths of the group bridge estimator in linear regression models. Our method is based on the quasi-Newton algorithm with a smoothed group bridge penalty in combination with a novel data-driven thresholding rule for the regression coefficients. This rule is derived based on a necessary KKT condition of the group bridge optimization problem. It is easy to implement and can be used to eliminate groups with zero coefficients. Thus, it reduces the dimension of the optimization problem. The proposed algorithm removes the restriction of groupwise orthogonal condition needed in coordinate descent and LARS algorithms for group variable selection. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the coordinate descent based algorithms in both efficiency and accuracy.

汉语和日语共同属于汉字文化圈,随着时代的发展,两国间的词汇交流不断深入,必然会导致中日词汇的相互影响。文章主要以汉语新词语中的日语借词为语料样本,从产生原因、定义、特点、流行原因等方面进行分析,指出日语借词对汉语的影响不仅在词汇、语法方面,还表现在社会文化方面。研究汉语新词语中日语借词对汉语的影响,对研究当今中日之间语言文化的交流状况,以及汉语自身特点都具有重要的现实意义。
