Robust estimation of AR coefficients under simultaneously influencing outliers and missing values

A family of robust estimators for coefficients of Gaussian AR(p) time series under simultaneously influencing distortions of two types: outliers and missing values, is proposed. The estimators are based on special properties of the Cauchy probability distribution; consistency and the asymptotic normality of these estimators are proven. An approximate solution of the problem of minimization of the asymptotic variance within the proposed family of estimators is found. Performance of the proposed estimators is illustrated for simulated time series and for real data sets.

Helpers “Here on the Front Lines”: Welfare‐to‐Work Managers' Moral Identity Work

Using data drawn from telephone interviews with Ohio Works First program managers (N = 69), we examine managers' moral identity work. This work included using militarized rhetoric to evoke moral identities as honorable workers. It also involved signifying helper/helpful moral identities by defining what it means to be helpful, legitimating their helper identity through connections to caseworkers, and affirming their identity through telling success stories. Additionally, managers implicitly othered clients they viewed as needy and politicians they considered to be out‐of‐touch. Our research contributes to the literature on welfare‐to‐work, but also more broadly to our understanding of moral identity work and implicit othering.     

清代词集丛刻的文献价值与词学贡献

清词号为中兴,词集丛刻亦甚为发达,文献保存之功甚巨。清代前期词坛昌盛,词集丛刻如《国朝名家诗馀》等多为今人词集之汇辑,保存了大量当代名家词集。中期的词集丛刻则更多地倾向于中小作家,于此可见更为普泛化群体的创作状况,同时在编选倾向上又受浙派词风和乾嘉学风的影响,呈现出偏重浙西词派和重音律等特征。晚清词集丛刻数量大增,品类丰富,王鹏运的《四印斋所刻词》等搜辑宋元旧集,开启词集校勘之风,词学贡献尤为卓著。     

Doing Good,Public Good,and Public Value

In this article, using multiple illustrative case examples, we demonstrate that philanthropic institutions are in the business of creating public value. In framing the work of philanthropy more broadly to include the process of public value creation, philanthropic institutions and leaders are challenged to be more strategic not only in their mission‐fulfillment grant‐making with nonprofit organizations but also in the way they stimulate and encourage collaboration, create the “third space” necessary to incubate ideas to transform society, and leverage resources to increase the return on their investments toward system‐wide change. The implications for philanthropic actors and institutions suggest that the strategic contributions they make toward creation of public value are those that go beyond transactional performance measures, such as number of dollars spent or clients receiving services, to include ways that their investments are amplified by meaningful partnerships with nonprofit and other organizations, changed behaviors of institutions and individuals, and transformative public policies.     

Studying the dependence between ordinal-nominal categorical variables via orthogonal polynomials

In situations where the structure of one of the variables of a contingency table is ordered recent theory involving the augmentation of singular vectors and orthogonal polynomials has shown to be applicable for performing symmetric and non-symmetric correspondence analysis. Such an approach has the advantage of allowing the user to identify the source of variation between the categories in terms of components that reflect linear, quadratic and higher-order trends. The purpose of this paper is to focus on the study of two asymmetrically related variables cross-classified to form a two-way contingency table where only one of the variables has an ordinal structure.

考核学生的思想品德是"思想道德修养与法律基础"课程考评的重要内容,也是该课程目标实现与否的重要判定依据。解决好"基础"课考评直观性与学生思想品德隐蔽性之间的矛盾问题,是建立科学的考评机制,实现既能考核学生对知识点的理解和掌握,又能考核出学生实际思想品德状况的考评目标以及增强课程考评针对性和有效性的前提。     

A semigroup approach to the strong ergodic theorem of the multistate stable population process

In this paper we first formulate the dynamics of multistate stable population processes as a partial differential equation. Next, we rewrite this equation as an abstract differential equation in a Banach space, and solve it by using the theory of strongly continuous semigroups of bounded linear operators. Subsequently, we investigate the asymptotic behavior of this semigroup to show the strong ergodic theorem which states that there exists a stable distribution independent of the initial distribution. Finally, we introduce the dual problem in order to obtain a logical definition for the reproductive value and we discuss its applications.     

生态化理念下对物权法的考量

生态危机的爆发和加剧对人类社会的冲击极其深远。作为一种专门用于解决因自然资源有限性与人类需求无限性之间的矛盾而引发的人与人之间紧张关系的法律制度,物权法理当做出应用的回应。本文基于环境资源的稀缺性与价值多元性认知,重拾私法特别是物权法的调整手段,探讨在生态化理念和可持续发展思想指引下物权法的重新定位问题,重点涉及对物权法律关系中主体、客体、内容相应变革开展的初步考察,并最终落脚到中国《物权法》"生态化"的制度建构与实际运行之关怀。
