Multiple comparisons of several populations with more than one control with respectto scale parameter

In this paper, one-sided and two-sided test procedures for comparing several treatments with more than one control with respect to scale parameter are proposed. The proposed test procedures are inverted to obtain the associated simultaneous confidence intervals. The multiple comparisons of test treatments with the best control are also developed. The computation of the critical points, required to implement the proposed procedures, is discussed by taking the normal probability model. Applications of the proposed test procedures to two-parameter exponential probability model are also demonstrated.

Moments of the quartic assignment statistic with an application to multiple regression

We present the first three exact moments of the symmetric quartic assignment statistic. Efficient computational formulas have been derived to overcome severe difficulties in third moment calculations. Two examples illustrate applications of the quartic assignment statistic: evaluation of significant “clustering” or “mixing”; and distribution-free tests for equality of several planar regression models. This article extends previous results on the cubic assignment statistic in Iyer and Vecchia (1989).

Goldberg的构式语法理论提出了一直未被人们重视的构式意义认知现实性的问题,使我们对英语语句的理解机制有了新认识.构式是形式、意义和功能的统一体,论元结构在构式意义及英语语句理解中起了关键作用.当然,Goldberg构式语法也存在一些不足.在借鉴Iwata模式基础上,笔者认为若能将动词的动态性意义与构式意义相结合会更加符合认知规律、有助于语句理解.同时笔者也讨论了构式研究对二语习得的启示.

CSTN-LCD驱动算法模型及硬件实现

针对多线寻址驱动方案,以驱动算法的数学理论为基础,建立了可由EDA工具综合的硬件驱动算法模型。该算法模型综合了FRC-PWM灰度技术的解决方案,通过FPGA验证,实现了在保证CSTN-LCD显示效果的前提下使电路设计达到最优化。

Assessing Overall Risk in Reproductive Experiments

Toxicologists are often interested in assessing the joint effect of an exposure on multiple reproductive endpoints, including early loss, fetal death, and malformation. Exposures that occur prior to mating or extremely early in development can adversely affect the number of implantation sites or fetuses that form within each dam and may even prevent pregnancy. A simple approach for assessing overall adverse effects in such studies is to consider fetuses or implants that fail to develop due to exposure as missing data. The missing data can be imputed, and standard methods for the analysis of quantal response data can then be used for quantitative risk assessment or testing. In this article, a new bias-corrected imputation procedure is proposed and evaluated. The procedure is straightforward to implement in standard statistical packages and has excellent operating characteristics when used in combination with a marginal model fit with generalized estimating equations. The methods are applied to data from a reproductive toxicity study of Nitrofurazone conducted by the National Toxicology Program.
