On characterizing the normal and poisson distributions

Multivariate normal, correlated multivariate Poisson and multiple Poisson distributions are characterized, in the class of exponential-type distributions, by the properties of the linear combinations of the variables, the properties of their cumulants and the recurance relation between the cumulants.

本雅明《发达资本主义时代的抒情诗人》一书充满了形形色色的人与物,但在纷繁复杂的意象中,"震惊"一以贯之,成为探寻问题的一个起点和动因。文章从"震惊"的心理溯源开始来梳理本雅明的美学思想和社会学思想,以期从这一特定角度对本雅明的现代性思想有一个较为明晰的理解。心理层面,人们以牺牲事物的完整性和鲜活性为代价,发展出一套针对"震惊"的戒备机制。美学领域,"震惊"剥夺了传统艺术的"光晕",而波德莱尔的伟大之处正在于把"震惊"引入了抒情诗。"震惊"还引发了新的社会现象,这就是以游荡者为代表的人群,以及以摄影为代表的物象,人的异化不可避免地产生了。     

21世纪大学生心理压力探析

本文认为 ,当今大学生的心理压力主要有 3种 :大学生活的压力、个人成长的压力和社会大环境的压力。大学生活的压力包括适应的压力、学业的压力和集体生活的压力 ;个人成长的压力包括人际成长的压力、自我完善的压力、与性和爱情有关的成长压力 ;社会大环境的压力包括就业的压力、社会对人才的高要求压力和经济压力。指出进行压力处理的心理健康教育十分重要。

高校人才培养与企业实际需求存在匹配度较低的问题,因而有必要构建新的大学生专业操作能力优化教学模式.新的教学模式涵盖目标描述、目标支撑、流程管理、经验教训、工具与表单五个方面.它可以让学生的学习从抽象到具体,从理论到实践,从宏观到微观,从被动接受到主动思考,达到对该模块更深刻的学习、掌握与运用,从而更加适应企业与社会的需求.

Some tests for the power series distibutions in one parameter using the kullback-leibler information measure

The purpose of the article is, in case of one sample, to obtain tests concerning the parameter in the power series distribution in one parameter using Ku11back-Leibier information measure. The class of power series distibutions contains a host of discrete distributions. Ve illustrate the general results obtained in case of the geometric distibution.     

A property of coefficients of variation for ordered bivariate log-normal variables

This paper considers the maximum and minimum of a pair of log-normal variables with equal mean. It shows that either order statistic has a smaller coefficient of variation than the two original log-normal variables provided the latter are of equal variance. When the variances are unequal, as the variance ratio increases, the minimum (maximum), has a smaller coefficient of variation if the correlation coefficient of the log-normal variables is small (small) and the variances are large (small).     

关于高校管理中“双肩挑”问题的探讨

为了做好专业技术岗位聘用工作,高校应该认真研究普遍存在的“双肩挑”人员的管理现状和探索新的使用方法。笔者对高校中“双肩挑”管理模式现行管理政策与措施进行了调查和研究,提出了应加强对“双肩挑”岗位设置的管理,同时,应注重管理队伍朝着专职和专业的方向发展,并在高校中逐步提高学术权力的领导地位、建立新时期高校管理体制的新格局和确保高校人事管理科学发展的建议。     

The Culture of High-Risk Alcohol Use Among Club and Intramural Athletes

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the drinking patterns of club and intramural college athletes and compare their alcohol consumption, perceived norms around the excessive use of alcohol, experience of negative consequences, and employment of protective strategies with those of campus varsity athletes. Participants: A total of 442 undergraduate students attending a private, suburban institution in the Northeast participated in the American College Health Association National College Health Assessment-II Web survey in spring 2011. Thirty-five students identified themselves as varsity athletes, 76 identified as club sport athletes, and 196 students identified themselves as intramural athletes. Methods: Survey responses were analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The Pearson's correlation coefficient and test for independence were applied to identify significant relationships between athlete status and identified variables related to alcohol use. Results: Results indicated that there were significant correlations between athlete status and all variables, to varying degrees. Conclusions: These findings have implications for campus health promotion professionals and athletics program coordinators seeking to address high-risk alcohol use among college athletes.     

The Eating Disorders NOS Diagnostic Profile Among College Women

Abstract

The authors examined a proposed profile of eating-related behaviors, associated features, developmental issues, and help-seeking behavior among college women, using an eating disorder response program. The most common symptom scenario was a pattern of regular binge eating, together with daily exercise and occasional purging. The most common associated features were distressing or dysfunctional overconcern about body image and self-esteem, usually with day-to-day stress and intermittent depression. The women who fit this pattern also presented developmental issues of perfectionism, conflictual relationships with parents, and struggles for independence; and they tended to be ambivalent about seeking services. Implications for practice, including the need to develop a framework for eating disorder responses on campus that includes preventive programs and developmental interventions to target emerging and moderate concerns are discussed; limitations and the preliminary nature of the findings are explicated.
