生态文明的环境伦理学视野

随着全球生态危机的出现,我国的生态环境也遭到了灾难般的破坏。片面强调GDP增长,消耗大量资源、大量排污的‘恶’的发展模式,使经济与环境、生态处于不可调和的矛盾状态。我国先后提出了“环境保护”的基本国策、“可持续发展战略”、“科学发展观”,在此前提下,十七大明确将建设生态文明作为社会发展目标,表明了我国改变人与自然矛盾关系的决心。

媒体从业者对匿名消息源的运用一直是美国新闻界探讨新闻伦理问题时一个无法回避的难题。由于复杂的原因，匿名消息源有时扮演天使传播正义的声音，有时又是幕后“魔鬼”制造事端，他们的出现使媒体从业者在实践过程中遭遇到诸多新闻职业道德与法律上的问题。媒体从业者做出的选择是试图通过制定相关的行为规范以正确运用匿名消息源。     

The Impact of Parental Occupation and Socioeconomic Status on Choice of College Major

This study examines the effects of socioeconomic status and parental occupation on choice of college major, with special attention directed toward female and male differences. The study uses multinomial logit analysis and data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) 1990 Survey of Beginning Postsecondary Students (BPS). Having a father in a professional or executive occupation has a larger effect on female students than does having a mother in a similar occupation. The opposite holds for males. Women from families with high socioeconomic status are less likely to major in business; the opposite holds for males. Students who believe that being very well off financially is very important are more likely to major in business than are other students.

对大学思想品德课教学方法的几点思考

大学思想品德课教学要取得良好效果必须建立科学的教学理念，应当以爱心培育作为立足点、以情感教育作为基本手段，并将课堂教学延伸至现实社会，把现实社会作为大学生品德的生长空间。

A COMPARISON OF THE IMPRECISE BETA CLASS, THE RANDOMIZED PLAY-THE-WINNER RULE AND THE TRIANGULAR TEST FOR CLINICAL TRIALS WITH BINARY RESPONSES

This paper develops clinical trial designs that compare two treatments with a binary outcome. The imprecise beta class (IBC), a class of beta probability distributions, is used in a robust Bayesian framework to calculate posterior upper and lower expectations for treatment success rates using accumulating data. The posterior expectation for the difference in success rates can be used to decide when there is sufficient evidence for randomized treatment allocation to cease. This design is formally related to the randomized play‐the‐winner (RPW) design, an adaptive allocation scheme where randomization probabilities are updated sequentially to favour the treatment with the higher observed success rate. A connection is also made between the IBC and the sequential clinical trial design based on the triangular test. Theoretical and simulation results are presented to show that the expected sample sizes on the truly inferior arm are lower using the IBC compared with either the triangular test or the RPW design, and that the IBC performs well against established criteria involving error rates and the expected number of treatment failures.

通过分析李安的早期作品《喜宴》中反映中西方文化冲突的情节，剖析其潜在的文化背景因素，即中国人的孝道、家庭伦理观与西方的个人主义和家庭伦理观；中国相对传统保守的文化特征与西方多元开放的文化特征；以及在解决同性恋事实与传统中国式婚姻的矛盾时所体现出来的中国的“中庸”处世哲学。通过分析得出结论，观看反映中西方文化特征的影片是了解、学习不同民族文化，培养跨文化意识的有效途径。
