东方现代民族主义文学的典型形态论

20世纪初至20世纪60年代是东方现代民族主义文学思潮发展最为成熟和典型的阶段.东方各民族文学都产生了一批在文学史上占据显著地位的民族主义诗人、作家和理论家,他们的创作和理论活动,充分展现了东方现代民族主义文学思潮的共同原则和特征:反对殖民统治,高扬民族意识,要求民族独立的主题思想;功利性、现实性的审美追求;民族传统的弘扬与民族灵魂的呼唤.     

Social Disorganization and Parochial Control: Religious Institutions and Their Communities

Set within the framework of social disorganization theory, this article explores the relationship between social disorganization and parochial control. Specifically, this study investigates whether more disorganized communities support fewer religious institutions than less disorganized areas. It also examines the relationship between religious institutions and another type of community association: multi-issue, neighborhood-based organizations. Data are drawn from 1990 Census data, the 1991 Chicago telephone directory and local community organization directories. Findings support the idea that residential mobility and ethnic heterogeneity are negatively related to the prevalence of religious institutions whereas there is a curvilinear relationship between poverty and religious organizations. Finally, a strong relationship between the prevalence of religious institutions and the prevalence of multi-issue organizations is established.

民族主义史学是近现代史学的主要潮流。自 17世纪从西方兴起以后 ,随着西方殖民主义的扩张而走向全球 ,至今不衰。对于非西方地区的史家而言 ,民族主义史学为他们抵御西方军事和文化的侵略 ,从事民族国家的建设 ,起了重要的作用。尽管如此 ,民族主义本身是西方历史与文化的产物 ,并不完全适用于解释中国和印度等地区的历史。因此 ,需要从比较史学的角度 ,以西方、东亚、伊斯兰和印度等地民族主义史学的发展特点为例 ,分析民族主义史学的共性 ,及其在近年所面临的挑战 ,以展望全球史学在未来的发展走向     

简论叶芝与中国现代诗的发展

叶芝是爱尔兰民族精神的象征,他的作品较早被翻译和介绍到中国文坛。因其多变的诗风和多元的思想,他的作品影响了中国文坛的不同流派,对其作品的译评也从侧面反映了中国诗坛的艺术指针由浪漫主义向现代主义转化的过程。文章追溯了从五·四运动以来到现代,中国文坛和学术界对叶芝译介的历史,力图探索叶芝与中国现代诗歌发展和诗人创作的关系。

武汉抗战时期,蒋介石对外力争国际反法西斯阵线的同情与支持,对内积极动员、组织和团结各抗日力量对日抗战,先后督导或指挥了徐州会战、武汉会战,大大消耗了日军的有生力量,使抗战开始由战略防御转变为战略相持。同时,还为部署其他各项重要抗战工作及安置难民、难童等做出了重要贡献,成功地实行了抗日战争由东部向西部的战略大转移,为谱写这一时期中国抗战的辉煌篇章立下了功劳。     

构建理性民族主义推动中国和平发展

中国民族主义中的非理性因素对中国的和平发展将会造成一定的消极影响,特别是极端民族主义对中国的危害更大,因此必须构建理性的民族主义。文章对理性民族主义的内涵进行了分析并提出了构建理性民族主义的具体途径。     

Understanding the social and cultural bases of Brexit*

We use data from a large scale and nationally representative survey to evaluate two narratives about the social bases of Brexit. The first narrative sees Brexit as a revolt of the economically left-behinds. The second narrative attributes Brexit to the resurgence of an English nationalism. There is some, albeit not always consistent, evidence that people in relative poverty or those living in areas that have seen greater Chinese import penetration are slightly more pro-Leave. People living in economically deprived neighborhoods are not more pro-Brexit. Using the Weberian class–status distinction, it is social status, not social class, which stratifies Brexit support. Individuals for whom being British is important are more pro-Leave. But those who see themselves as British rather than English, and those reporting omnivorous cultural consumption are less supportive of Brexit. Overall, there is empirical support for both narratives. But the weight of the evidence suggests a strong cultural dimension in Brexit support.
