The Quality Adjusted Price Index in the Pure Characteristics Demand Model

This paper computes a quality adjusted price index for the personal computer CPU from 1996 to 2000. The index is based on the pure characteristics demand model. I first compute the quality adjusted price index for the whole market, and show that it is very comparable with the hedonic price index but more sensitive to changes in product quality. Two types of the hedonic index are considered. One is the dummy variable index and the other is the formulation in Pakes (2003). When I group consumers by their willingness to pay for attribute improvement, the index shows consumer groups are differently affected by their product choices.     

An in-depth case study on the role of industrial design in a business-to-business company

In this paper, we investigate how managers perceive the roles of industrial design, based on their experiences with designers in two product development projects in a business-to-business environment. The study demonstrates that designers can make contributions that surpass the design of physical products, and that influence the effective implementation of product development processes. Our findings extend the limited literature on the role of industrial design in industrial markets, and are of value for managers looking to strengthen their product development processes.

We derive a theoretical and parametrized form for a two-way contingency table by using matrix calculus and Kronecker products.     

Housing Policy and the Elderly

Subsidized senior high-rise apartments have tended to neglect the needs of an increasingly aged and frail resident population. Research demonstrates that this population has greater unmet needs than elderly who reside in traditional community housing. This paper makes the case for enriched senior high-rise apartments as a viable alternative for elders who need assistance in order to maintain an independent lifestyle.     

基于特征价格模型的平台交易模式对商品价格影响的实证研究

运用特征价格模型（Hedonic Price Model）,监测了2010年5月份淘宝网交易的笔记本电脑数据,选取了商品自身特征和平台交易特征共12个特征变量,研究了平台交易模式对商品价格的影响方式和影响程度。研究发现：在与商品有关的特征中,除商品上市时间因素外,都对价格产生了正向的影响;和平台有关的特征对价格产生了负向的影响。在特征价格的总构成中,商品自身的特征占了近70%,平台交易模式的特征占了30%,这说明平台交易模式对商品价格会产生重要的影响。     

Partition models

Product partition models assume that observations in different components of a random partition of the data are independent given the partition. If the probability distribution of random partitions is in a certain product form prior to making the observations, it is also in product form given the observations. The product model thus provides a convenient machinery for allowing the data to weight the partitions likely to hold; and inference about particular future observations may then be made by first conditioning on the partition, and then averaging over all partitions. This model is applied to fatalities in manned rocket launches, using data from the SOYUZ, APOLLO, SHUTTLE, and post-Challenger SHUTTLE programs in the Soviet Union and the United States. The combination of these data suggest that the chance of a fatality in the next shuttle, launch is about .03, after allowing for the possibility that the older programs are of slight relevance to the present shuttle program.     

浅裂纹试样塑性位移与载荷关系的实验标定

本文用实验验证了对于两种中强度，低韧性的材料18MnMoNb10MnMoNbVCu，Ernst分离函数原理P＝g（a／W）H（△P／W）仍适用，并由此用实验标定了两种材料的浅裂纹试样的g（a／W）表达式，在此基础上，得到了浅裂纹试样塑性位移与载荷的函数关系式。     

一种定量敏感性问题的随机化调查方法

在敏感性问题的随机化调查中,既有调查个体是否具有敏感属性的二值敏感性问题,即属性特征问题,又有调查特定人群中敏感指标量的“多少”问题,即定量特征敏感性问题.对于定量特征敏感性问题的调查,E ichhorn,H aryre于1983年提出了一种随机化调查方法,并给出了定量敏感问题指标量均值的一个无偏估计.本文提出一种定量特征敏感性问题的随机化调查方法,得到的结果表明,本文提出的方法优于E ichhorn,H aryre(1983)提出的方法.     

绿色产品定格的博弈分析

自 2 0世纪 90年代以来消费者越来越强烈地关注环境问题 ,绿色消费成为消费者追求的消费模式。合理的定价是绿色产品能否占领市场的关键。利用Hotelling模型对绿色产品的定价进行了相应的分析 ,得到“绿色产品的最优定价与提供具有基本效用的生产成本呈正相关的关系 ,与消费者的绿色效用系数呈正相关的关系 ,与市场中存在的绿色消费者人数呈正相关关系”的结论。     

负债融资、财务杠杆效应与产品市场竞争

负债融资产生财务杠杆效应的同时,又会导致企业产品市场竞争的压力,企业在财务杠杆效应与产品市场竞争之间权衡的基础上才能确定合理的负债融资比例。经验分析表明:我国上市公司存在财务杠杆或财务杠杆效应运用不合理的特征。
