This study examined the relationship between levels of group cohesion, defined as whole group relationships, and between‐session therapeutic homework adherence in a multi‐family group therapy (MFGT) for people with schizophrenia. Participants from 18 consenting families attending MFGT groups completed weekly homework adherence ratings, group cohesion and spontaneous between‐session activity measures. Levels of group cohesion at each session were compared with measures of scheduled and spontaneous homework adherence reported at the next session. It was hypothesised that higher levels of group cohesion would be related to homework adherence and other spontaneous between‐session therapeutic activity completed by group members. Results show higher levels of group cohesion were associated with higher rates of spontaneous between‐session therapeutic activity. However, contrary to expectations no significant relationship between cohesion and scheduled homework completion was found. The implications of the findings for group processes and homework adherence are discussed. 相似文献

Few data sources include ethnicity-levelclassification for Asian Americans. However, it isoften more informative to study the ethnic groupsseparately than to use an aggregate Asian Americancategory, because of differences in immigrationhistory, socioeconomic status, health, and culture. Many types of records that include surnames of personsoffer the potential for inferential ethnicclassification. This paper describes the developmentof surname lists for six major Asian American ethnicgroups: Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, AsianIndian, and Vietnamese. The lists were based on SocialSecurity Administration records that include countryof birth. After they were compiled, the lists wereevaluated using an independent file of census records.The surname lists have a variety of applications forresearchers: identification of individuals to targetfor study participation; inference of ethnicity indata sources lacking ethnic detail; andcharacterization of the ethnic composition of apopulation. 相似文献

This study examines the impact of immigration on the labor market opportunities of the native-born population by looking through the window of migration. We use Current Population Survey data to analyze the one-year migration patterns of Anglos and Blacks and include the presence of recent immigrants in the origin and (potential) destination US states among the covariates. Our departure model employs a logit specification to predict outmigration (vs not) from the state during the year prior to the survey. Our arrival model uses a conditional logit discrete choice specification with sampling among the alternatives to predict destination state. The data are taken from the 1981, 1984, 1987, and 1990 Current Population Surveys. This work adds to other knowledge of the migratory response of workers and sheds light on theories of substitution and complementarity in labor markets. States with high levels of recent immigration are less likely to retain Anglo workers or receive new Anglo interstate migrants, but this apparent substitution effect is partially offset by the presence of long-term immigrant stock. Lower skilled Anglos are more susceptible to this substitution effect than those of higher skill level. In the black population, results are more complex. Lower skilled blacks are less attracted to high immigrant locations, but African-Americans of higher skill level in selected occupations and industries are predicted to be more likely to remain in or choose states with many recent immigrants. 相似文献

It is often assumed that the level of residential segregation of ethnic and racial groups can be used as a measure of their socio-economic integration into a society. This paper using Canadian census data for the period 1981–1991 questions this assumption and goes to show that the trends in residential segregation need not parallel the trends in socio-economic integration. Socio-economic integration is measured by indices of dissimilarity in the occupational composition and residential segregation by indices of dissimilarity in the population distribution. The study shows that while residential segregation of ethnic groups has remained fairly constant during the decade, occupational segregation has declined significantly. It concludes that while residential segregation may persist due to voluntary or involuntary causes, minority groups have been occupationally mobile. Unlike the case of Blacks in the United States, the study concludes that public policy concerns that spatial segregation of an ethnic group will result in relative deprivation in terms of socio-economic integration may not always be valid in Canada. 相似文献

房屋租赁关系本属民事法律关系范畴,相关的问题可以在私法的领域内调整。但是当下,一方面由于代表公权的行政权的扩张和膨胀,公权越来越深入到私权领域;另一方面由于社会公共利益和秩序的需要,合意性的私权又应该受公权的监督。而房屋群租行为由于其存在的不合理性受到了公权的执行人——政府的干预。政府介入房屋群租现象直接目标是打击有碍公益的群租行为,规范租房市场,而其根本目的则应是践行服务型政府的理念,解决目前住房难的问题。 相似文献

当前我国法律对业主委员会的性质没有明确规定,对其是否具有民事主体资格,能否享有独立的诉讼权利等问题存在广泛争议。业主委员会系业主自治性机构,不具备成立法人或“其他组织”的条件,赋予其民事主体资格不仅不能解决当前存在的诉讼难题,还会陷入新的理论及实践困境。根本出路在于借鉴国外相关立法,引入“业主团体”的概念,对业主委员会制度做出相应调整,进而将其明确界定为业主团体的代表机关和执行机关。 相似文献
