Likelihood Inference for Unions of Interacting Discs

Abstract. This is probably the first paper which discusses likelihood inference for a random set using a germ‐grain model, where the individual grains are unobservable, edge effects occur and other complications appear. We consider the case where the grains form a disc process modelled by a marked point process, where the germs are the centres and the marks are the associated radii of the discs. We propose to use a recent parametric class of interacting disc process models, where the minimal sufficient statistic depends on various geometric properties of the random set, and the density is specified with respect to a given marked Poisson model (i.e. a Boolean model). We show how edge effects and other complications can be handled by considering a certain conditional likelihood. Our methodology is illustrated by analysing Peter Diggle's heather data set, where we discuss the results of simulation‐based maximum likelihood inference and the effect of specifying different reference Poisson models.

慈善捐赠的法律界定

慈善捐赠是多元化的民事法律行为,是自愿、无偿、单务和不可任意撤销的捐赠。慈善捐赠的标的物种类繁多,可为有形财产,可为无形财产。捐赠财产的归属并不单一,应根据捐赠行为属性等因素进行具体分析。受赠对象既可为组织,亦可为个人,但应以捐赠人对受赠人不负有法定救助义务为限,且必须用作有益于社会或个人的事情。慈善捐赠的外延极大,因此须要进行类型化的分析。

关于民办高校法人财产权的法学思考

通过回顾民办高校财产权的相关法律规定,结合现行民办高校办学实践,认为鉴于筹资渠道的不同、学校类型及其性质的多元化,我国民办学校的财产权亦应为多元化。在承认民办高校均具有公益性的基础上,应根据纯捐资举办的非营利性民办高校、投资举办的营利性民办高校与混合举办的民办高校的不同类型,区别规定民办高校财产权的进入、运作与退出的法律保护机制。     

Some results on renewal equations

In this paper solutions of renewal-type integral equations are studied. It is proved that a recursively spades;efined approximation to the solution has some nice convergence properties. Some simple bounds and other results on the renewal function and the renewal spades;,ensity are obtained.     

The moderating effect of foreign direct investment intensity on local firms' intangible resources investment and performance implications: A case from China

Foreign direct investment (FDI) has been known to generate positive externalities to increase the productivity and competitiveness of domestic industries through knowledge and technology spillover. This study focuses on the indirect effect of FDI by investigating whether FDI intensity benefits local firms by enhancing the local intellectual property rights (IPR) environment. We argue that due to the inadequate IPR environment in emerging economies, local firms' intangible resources investment can be negatively related to firm performance. Further, we suggest that FDI intensity can improve the local IPR environment, thereby enhancing the appropriability of local firms' intangible resources investment. We find empirical evidence to support our arguments by examining 70 semiconductor firms in China from 1999 to 2006, and we discuss the theoretical and practical implications of the impact of FDI intensity on the local IPR environment.     

明代徽州田价发覆

徽州田价是徽商资本流动的风向标。以往研究认为，明代徽州田价呈倒U形增长或直线增长。两种观点都值得商榷，原因是其田价处理存在两类错误：　第一，天启前的徽州田价因忽视田税推割延迟而被高估；第二，忽视了亩的标准不一、亩价数据的高离散度对平均亩价有效性与代表性的影响。在充分考虑田税推割延迟的因素之后，以田价年租比代替亩价指标，通过趋势分析发现：　明代徽州田价既不呈倒U形增长，也不呈直线增长，而呈N形增长。这是徽商资本在嘉靖“严肃海禁”后大量从土地流向盐业、典业，又在万历商业环境恶化后持续回流土地的结果。     

On a Class of Nonlinear AR(P) Models with Nonlinear ARCH Errors

This paper studies general sufficient conditions for the geometric ergodicity and the existence of moments for a class of nonlinear autoregressive models with nonlinear ARCH errors. Applications of these conditions to various well-known nonlinear time series models yield specific sufficient conditions, many of which are new or generalizations of existing conditions.     

修改我国著作权法的重要命题

在借鉴国外有关著作权转让立法的基础上，应结合我国实际情况，建立具有中国特色的著作财产权转让制度，这是实现个人精神财富有效动态使用和社会精神财富流动增值的一个重要手段。同时，对我国著作财产权转让制度的具体内容进行了合理架构和设计。
