Battered Immigrant Mexican Women's Perspectives Regarding Abuse and Help-Seeking

SUMMARY

A qualitative, pilot study employing in-depth ethno-graphic interviews was conducted to examine perceptions and attitudes towards abuse and the help-seeking behaviors of a sample of ten battered immigrant Mexican women. Findings indicated that participants' attitudes about seeking help were influenced more by cultural factors (e.g., gender-role expectations, famialism) than by psycho-social stres-sors (e.g., immigrant status, financial dependency). Children's welfare played a salient role in women's decisions about seeking help, both as a deterrent and a motivating factor. Women's attitudes about their own abuse were more tolerant than their attitudes about hypothetical situations involving others. Changes in women's attitudes about abuse reflected changes only after some type of intervention had taken place. The majority of the women in the sample had misconceptions or were uninformed about shelters. Suggestions for further research and intervention with this population and a model of internal and external determinants of help-seeking behavior are presented.

理性是政治哲学的论题,理性的分裂与整合直接影响到政治哲学的研究方法和研究动向。当代政治哲学对于reasonable和rational的理解存在明显的冲突,这种冲突也是自理性被概念化以来本身就具有的。理性的分裂影响着当代政治哲学研究的动向：使政治学实现了从传统向现代及其科学化的转向,完成了政治和行政及事实与价值的分离,促使政治智慧转向政治知识,引发了政治统治合法性的现代转译。理性的整合也使当代政治哲学出现了新的研究趋势：政治事实与政治价值的整合,经验方法与规范方法的互补和政治与行政的联袂。     

优化算法在手征媒质中的应用研究

由于手征媒质的手征参数可调性,使它成为一种新型的吸波材料,在减缩目标雷达散射截面方面有巨大的应用前景.文中运用传输线法分析了金属衬底上涂敷手征媒质的反射特性,计算了手征参数对手征媒质反射特性的影响;然后基于非均匀有理B样条建模,采用物理光学法比较了目标涂敷常规吸波材料与手征媒质时的雷达散射截面,结果说明了手征媒质减小反射电磁波的效果更好;最后运用粒子群算法和模拟退火算法在给定的范围内优化手征参数,并计算了在此参数下目标的散射截面.     

人—信息系统交互效率的影响因素及测度模型研究

人—信息系统交互效率是企业信息化背景下企业效率的重要组成部分。通过分析人—信息系统交互效率的内涵,提出了交互效率的影响因素分析框架和人—信息系统的影响因素,并通过问卷调查的方法收集到实际数据,在数据分析的基础上识别出影响交互效率的关键性因素,构建了人—信息系统交互效率的测度模型并进行了验证性分析。     

Measuring Rational and Organizational-Political Planning Activities of Community Organization Workers

Abstract

Social planning in community organization work reflects two dominant planning styles-a rational style and an organizational-political style. Drawing upon literature from related disciplines, this article describes the development of an expert test that identified indices for the measurement of rational planning activity on the one hand, and organizational-political planning activity on the other. These indices were then applied to investigate the patterns of planning activities of a sample of 138 community organization workers in Israel. The findings show varying tendencies of workers in implementing planning activities, and indicate a lack of homogenous consolidated task patterns. Workers also were found to focus more on traditional planning activities than upon activities based on new knowledge. The findings underscore the importance of identifying factors which influence the tendency of workers to engage in planning activities in the two styles, rational and organizational-political.     

General class of covariance structures for two or more repeated factors in longitudinal data analysis

The main difficulty in parametric analysis of longitudinal data lies in specifying covariance structure. Several covariance structures, which usually reflect one series of measurements collected over time, have been presented in the literature. However there is a lack of literature on covariance structures designed for repeated measures specified by more than one repeated factor. In this paper a new, general method of modelling covariance structure based on the Kronecker product of underlying factor specific covariance profiles is presented. The method has an attractive interpretation in terms of independent factor specific contribution to overall within subject covariance structure and can be easily adapted to standard software.     

Model Selection Using Conditional Densities

In this article we propose a new method to select a discrete model f(x; θ), based on the conditional density of a sample given the value of a sufficient statistic for θ. The main idea is to work with a broad family of discrete distributions, called the family of power series distribution, for which there is a common sufficient statistic for the parameter of interest. The proposed method uses the maximum conditional density in order to select the best model.

We compare our proposal with the usual methodology based on Bayes factors. We provide several examples that show that our proposal works fine in most instances. Bayes factors are strongly dependent on the prior information about the parameters. Since our method does not require the specification of a prior distribution, it provides a useful alternative to Bayes factors.

进入2014年以来，房价下跌的舆论越来越趋于一致，不同点在于房价跌的时间、区域以及程度。通过理性分析，房价与GDP的关系、房价与货币供应量M2的关系以及非理性分析，反馈结构化因素、城市信仰、心理等因素分析，得出结论：我国房价的上涨或下跌都受到阻力，因此未来房价将不会出现大跌或大涨。
