Community-based psychosocial rehabilitation for schizophrenia service users in the north west province of South Africa: A formative study

Psychosocial support is recognized as important for recovery for service users with schizophrenia, in addition to provision of antipsychotic medication. This study aimed to develop a community-based psychosocial rehabilitation programme for service users with schizophrenia to be facilitated by auxiliary social workers, and to investigate acceptability and feasibility of the programme. A task-sharing approach was adopted in which auxiliary social workers were trained to facilitate psychosocial rehabilitation groups. In-depth individual qualitative interviews were conducted with six group members at baseline, midpoint, and endpoint (18 interviews in total). NVivo10 was used to store data and conduct qualitative framework analysis. Participants reported benefits of the programme, including improvements in group members’ self-esteem, social support, illness knowledge, self-care, and contribution to their households. A key barrier to acceptability was the lack of provision of income generating opportunities. Implementation challenges include difficulties in tracing and engaging service users and families, lack of an appropriate venue, and issues with supply of antipsychotic medication. This study has provided evidence for the benefits and acceptability of this contextually adapted programme. Key barriers to implementation can be addressed through the provision of the necessary resources for auxiliary social worker input in the community.     

Satisfaction with the country and well-being: future expectations / Satisfacción con el país y bienestar: expectativas acerca del futuro

The role of expected personal well-being in the perception of the improvement (or deterioration) in living conditions and country satisfaction is analysed, as well as the relationship between the latter and life satisfaction and personal happiness. A national sample of N = 10,654 participants was used, collected through probabilistic, stratified, two-stage and cluster sampling. They responded to the Mexican Encuesta Nacional de Gastos de los Hogares (National Household Spending Survey, ENGASTO), which measures the spending on goods and services, aspects related to satisfaction with life and the country, and expectations of future personal well-being. Correlational analyses show positive associations between perceptions of the country and its expected development on the one hand and participants’ well-being on the other. Expectations of future personal well-being show indirect effects for both the relationship between the perception of improvement (or deterioration) of living conditions and country satisfaction, and the relation between the latter, happiness and life satisfaction.     

东道国风险、文化距离与中国企业对外直接投资

随着中国企业对外直接投资规模的不断增长和国际影响力的不断提升,投资稳定性和区位选择中的东道国风险影响也备受关注。以此为背景研究东道国文化距离对中国企业对外直接投资风险选择的影响,在度量东道国文化距离和风险的基础上,实证研究发现:当东道国与中国文化距离较小时,东道国较高经济和政治风险能促进中国企业对外直接投资;当东道国与中国文化距离较大时,东道国较高的经济和政治风险会阻碍中国企业对外直接投资。因而,中国企业对外直接投资的风险偏好不是绝对的,而是依赖于外部东道国文化距离条件。     

Inclusion,exclusion or indifference? Redefining migrant and refugee host state engagement options in Mediterranean ‘transit’ countries

What determines policies toward migrants and refugees in the transit-turned-host countries? Compared to the vast literature examining migration to Europe and North America, we know relatively little about why ‘newer’ host states pursue a liberal strategy with access to residency, employment and services on par with citizens, or what drives them to treat migrants and refugees with exclusion. This paper argues that there is a third choice: the idea of indifference-as-policy. Indifference refers to indirect action on the part of the host state, whereby a state defers to international organisations and civil society actors to provide basic services to migrants and refugees. The paper uses data collected over two years in Egypt, Morocco and Turkey to examine how this tripartite understanding of engagement maps onto empirical reality. Drawing on this analysis, the argument in this paper is two-fold. First, indifference is a strategic form of engagement utilised by host states, and that it creates a specific type of environment that allows for the de facto integration of migrants and refugees. Second, even when host states take steps toward a more liberal engagement strategy, examining policy outcomes, rather than outputs, demonstrates that indifference is still the dominant policy.     

西方多民族国家建设中分离性公投危机的宪法治理——以西班牙加泰罗尼亚公投为例

分离性公投本质上是对多民族国家领土与主权的破坏,加泰罗尼亚公投是旨在脱离西班牙独立建国的单方面分离性公投。西方多民族国家建设中分离性公投危机的宪法治理,违宪性是其逻辑起点,宪法保障机制的运转体现其基本过程,目的在于解除危机、维护统一、捍卫主权。分离性公投危机宪法治理的有效性受多种因素影响：完善的宪法与健全的宪法保障制度是实施治理的基本前提,较强的政府法理制约能力是保障治理的重要条件,竞争性多党制的消极作用是制约治理的直接原因,宪法认同的强弱是影响治理的内在因素。     

关于社会主义新农村法制建设的几点思考

建设社会主义新农村是我国新的时代主题。十一届三中全会以来我国农业实现了较快发展,农村经济和社会各项事务已初步纳入规范化、法制化的轨道。但是,无论立法、执法、普法、法律监督等方面,与市场经济发展的要求都还存在较大差距。本文从法制对建设社会主义新农村的重要意义出发,着眼于建设有中国特色社会主义新农村的需要,提出农村法制建设需要提高认识,加强立法,强化司法监督,深入普法,营造良好环境并确保农村法制建设的社会主义发展方向。     

地主阶层的贫困化趋势与乡村危机

民国时期,尤其是二十世纪二三十年代以来,地主阶层出现了较为明显的贫困化趋势。这一趋势既有表层的直接因素如长期战乱、灾害频繁等的影响,也有深层的结构性因素如人地比例失调、半殖民地经济结构、中国现代化进程加速对农村资源的提取等的影响。它是当时乡村危机的结果与表现,也进一步加深了这一危机。     

考虑风险关联和决策者偏好的海外投资国家风险评估研究

国家风险是我国企业海外投资优先考虑的外部因素,其构成的多维度性、不同维度风险之间关联的客观存在性以及企业决策者差异化的偏好等特点,加剧了海外投资国家风险评估的难度。本文引入风险关联和决策者偏好,提出一种二元语义DEMATEL法、基尼系数客观赋权法与VIKOR法相结合的海外投资国家风险评估方法来量化风险关联,并从主客观集成视角确定风险评估指标权重,以期得到不同决策机制下的投资风险国别排序。随即,通过采集“一带一路”沿线63个国家的数据开展实证分析,验证所提出方法的有效性,并对结果进行分析与讨论。研究结果能够为海外投资区位选择提供必要的决策支持,也能够对我国企业海外投资风险防范、推动共建“一带一路”高质量发展有所裨益。
