Academic Outings

This essay is an exploration of my personal experiences with poverty and identity negotiation, specifically framed within and through my educational experiences. It is the beginnings of an answer to Denzin's (2003:259) call for a “performative politics that leads the way to radical social change.” Scholars often ignore class subjectivities and lived experiences of class. I have chosen to employ critical autoethnographic inquiry in the form of a layered account to understand my lived experiences and my positionality, simultaneously inviting the reader to enter into the discourse.     

浅议有害短信的法律调整

据有关部门统计,2003年,通过中国移动和中国联通两大移动通信网络(GSM/CD-MA),全国发送和接收的手机短信数量已经达到2200亿条[1]。短信息给大众带来便捷的同时也带来了一系列始料不及的问题,比如扰乱社会秩序、侵犯他人合法权益等。在这种情况下,加快对短信息管制的立法进程,就显得刻不容缓。围绕有害短信在日常生活中的表现、侵害的权益及行为特点等方面,提出应对其进行法律调整,并对立法提出相关建议。

英国小说《呼啸山庄》从遭冷落到声名日隆的大起大落中,人们更多看到的是这部小说的艺术成就．而立足于小说的寓言性质则可揭示它的深刻含义它的与世隔绝的荒原环境具有“孤岛型”小说展现人性本质的优势;它所描述的男女主人公的爱情悲剧则是超常爱情与现实冲突这类常讲常新的故事。

文学怎样“动”文化

文化对文学的决定性作用几乎是大家都明白的道理,但是它与文学的关系,并非可以进行对等理解。文学性不是讲现实“功利”而是讲心灵依托之“功用”的,它的启迪性来自于作家对文化普遍要求的尊重性反思,而不是顺从性认同。文学对文化的“动”不是“对抗文化”,而是“尊重又不限于文化”;不是“轻视什么和排斥什么”;更不是“文学超越文化”。     

Is It Facebook Official? Coming Out and Passing Strategies of Young Adult Gay Men on Social Media

The rapid proliferation of social media, mobile applications, and Internet technologies has shifted a wide variety of social interaction from physical spaces to an online environment. Drawing from 42 semistructured, in-depth interviews with gay college-aged men between the ages of 18 and 27, this article explores these changing patterns of social interaction among gay men. I discuss three strategies of identity management college-aged gay men use to disclose or conceal their sexual identity to others. The first group of men, “Out and Proud,” uses Facebook as a way to celebrate and reaffirm their sexual identity, in addition to actively coming out to others on the social media Web site. The second group, “Out and Discreet,” uses Facebook to indirectly come out to some of their friends while hiding this information from others. The men in the last group I identify, “Facebook Closeted,” actively manage their online profiles to ensure their sexual identity is not exposed. Facebook is both transformative and risky for college-aged gay men, as it represents a new platform for them to come out as gay to friends and family, as well as other areas of their lives where they must actively manage the presentation of their sexual identity.     

Error variance bias in neighbour balance and evenness of distribution designs

Neighbour balance and evenness of distribution designs help to address user concerns in the two‐dimensional layout of agricultural field trials. This is done by minimising the occurrence of pairwise treatment plot neighbours and ensuring that the replications of treatments are spread out across rows and columns of a trial. Such considerations result in a restriction on the normal randomisation process for a row‐column design which can lead to error variance bias. In this paper, uniformity trial data is used to assess the degree of this bias for both resolvable and non‐resolvable designs. Comparisons are made with a similar investigation using Linear Variance spatial designs.     

高校运用手机开展思想政治工作研究综述

手机被称为继报刊、广播、电视、网络之后的第五媒体。国内近十年来的研究表明：手机短信交流的便捷、资费低廉优势和大学生追求个性、互动的特征是高校手机文化兴盛的主要原因;手机的使用在促进大学生社会化进程的同时也对其学业、心理、道德等方面产生了消极影响;手机作为新载体有助于增强高校思想政治工作的实效,但也对传统教育管理制度构成了挑战。因此,高校应从手机文化建设、短信平台建设以及法制保障等层面予以应对,并从手机上网、传播学、心理学等视角对高校运用手机开展思想政治工作进行深入探讨。     

手机短信诈骗及治理对策

随着手机短信业务的发展,利用手机短信进行诈骗的现象也频繁发生。短信诈骗行为的泛滥,不仅严重侵犯了人们的财产权益,而且破坏了正常的社会经济秩序。为有效预防和遏制手机短信诈骗,应强化监管和打击,建立和完善手机号码实名制和储蓄实名制,加强宣传教育,多管齐下,进行综合治理。     

手机短信的著作权保护

伴随着网络传输技术和移动通信技术的发展,短信作为一种新的文学样式已得到普遍应用,这也就使侵犯短信作品著作权的行为变得更加普遍。从阐述短信作品的著作权及其侵权类型入手,力求在现有社会环境、技术条件和法律制度下,从技术保护和法律保护两个层面寻求短信作品著作权保护的有效途径,平衡各方利益,以实现短信作品社会效益的最大化。
