“We thought it would be easy”: recruitment challenges,successes and best practices for low-income couple populations

Recruitment challenges present ongoing struggles for social science professionals. Especially problematic are recruiting endeavors when target populations are highly stressed, highly mobile, and are comprised of couples rather than individuals. Included in this study is a rationale supporting the need to study recruitment challenges coupled with a literature review discussing recent recruitment research summaries. Based upon a Delphi-type discussion with couples relationship education (CRE) experts, our team constructed a qualitative study to examine recruitment challenges in low-income CRE programs. Fourteen interviews were conducted with “successful” program leaders identified by federal regional managers within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF). Data were analyzed, and results detailing four main “challenge” themes, four “success” themes, and a seven-step best practice model are presented.     

Effect of a Web-Based Sexual Health Enhancement Program for Women with Gynecologic Cancer and Their Husbands

Objectives: This study examined the effects of a web-based sexual health enhancement program on of women with gynecologic cancer and their husbands. Methods: Twenty-one couples attended the program for 4 weeks and 22 couples were assigned to a control group. Results: The experimental group reported significant improvements in the sexual function of the women with gynecologic cancer (effect size [ES] = .75; p?p?=?.015). Conclusions: Therefore, our results can help provide interventions for patients and their husbands to identify and resolve sexual problems after gynecologic cancer treatment.

电视谈话节目源自于西方媒体的“脱口秀”。从1993年上海台的《东方直播室》开始,我国电视谈话节目已经有十多年的时间,谈话节目的理论研究也随着这类节目样式的变化而发展,提升其文化品格就显得比较重要。在此,分析目前电视谈话节目的文化内涵,以《艺术人生》为例,指出电视谈话节目的成功所涉及的文化品格。     

Supervision and Treatment of Juveniles with Sexual Behavior Problems

Responses to a survey, distributed at the 2005 Conference for Sex Offender Management, were studied to identify treatment theories, client behavior expectations, and level of interagency collaboration relied upon to produce positive outcomes for Juveniles with Sexual Behavior Problems (JSBP). Analysis of 112 responses to the 31-item survey identified three potential subscales (Integration of Theory, Readiness for Program Release, and Collaboration) and indicated support for an integrative approach to treatment. Clinicians were more likely than probation, institutional officers and caseworkers to use cognitive-behavioral approaches to enhance positive outcomes. Results are discussed regarding three controversial issues related to JSBP supervision and treatment: use of polygraphs with juvenile sex offenders, referrals to 12-Step Sexual Addiction programs, and victim/offender reunification.     

大陆和香港高校工程管理专业课程设置的比较与启示

对比了香港4所设有工程管理专业的大学和大陆第一批通过工程管理专业评估的6所大学的4大平台体系：工程技术、工程经济、工程法律、工程管理的课程设置情况。通过比较指出了大陆各所大学之间课程设置的侧重点以及和香港各大学课程设置相比的不足之处。为提高大陆工程管理专业课教育水平,借鉴了香港的工程管理专业课的教育模式,对大陆工程管理专业教育模式提出了几点建议。     

应用型物流管理本科专业人才培养方案构建

根据社会对物流人才需求的现状与要求,分析物流本科人才培养方案的目标与规格、课程体系与特色,提出基于制造业物流管理的应用型本科人才培养应是物流教育的主流的观点,并认为20世纪90年代美国物流管理协会对物流的定义是构建物流人才培养方案的指导方针。     

退耕还林工程经济影响结构性分析

当今,国家正处于调整与完善退耕还林后续政策的关键时期。作为国家的一项重大生态工程,退耕还林实施后的经济影响将关系到工程的长期持续发展。本文利用2003年与2005年对陕西、甘肃与四川3个试点省份的跟踪调查数据,通过样本分类,采用实证模型的研究方法分析了退耕还林对不同收入水平、不同收入结构的退耕户所产生的经济影响。研究表明,工程实施6年来,在促进农民总收入增加方面作用甚微,并且在很大程度上降低了农民的种植业收入,但工程却显著地促进了农村劳动力的转移。同时,如果不考虑时间效应,工程并没有瞄准相对贫穷或富裕的农户;如果考虑时间效应,工程对低收入退耕户,特别是以种植业收入为主的低收入退耕户产生了更加不利的影响。因此,国家在后续政策的制定中,应该更加关注这一部分农户的后续生计问题。

美国制裁国际卡特尔的赦免制度介评

美国反垄断部门出台的赦免制度在制裁国际卡特尔方面发挥着极为重要的作用，该制度规定参加卡特尔的公司中第一个向政府揭发该卡特尔的公司可免除刑事责任。赦免制度有效实施的基础包括三个方面。即管辖地的反垄断法必须对参与卡特尔的公司制定严厉的惩罚措施、卡特尔成员面临着被反垄断部门查处的巨大风险、赦免制度具有透明度和可预见性。美国的赦免制度已相当成熟和完善，实践也证明这一制度具有极大的应用价值，这对于我国制定反垄断法、有效制裁国际卡特尔具有重要的借鉴意义。
