论"辟"的音义

利用古代字书及《经典释文》等注音材料,初步全面整理出古代读音最多的字之一"辟"的各种读音及其负载的词义,认为这些音义大都来自上古。本项研究对古书的阅读、整理,对字典、辞书的修订以及汉语史的研究都是很有意义的。     

谈“声、情、理、心”的高师声乐课教学法

笔者结合自身教学实践,认为高师声乐教学除了要重视歌唱技能技巧训练外,还必须注重"声、情、理、心"的训练,即:重视发声练习,处理好技巧与情感的平衡,加强学生对歌唱原理的认识和把握,培养学生良好歌唱心理等方面的训练。     

国外关于社区对儿童和青少年影响的研究

国外关于社区 (neighborhood)对儿童和青少年影响的研究已有多年的历史并取得了不少成果。社区对儿童和青少年的影响效应一般从入学准备情况与学业成绩、行为和情绪问题 (包括外化的和内化的 )、性行为与生育等三个方面来研究考察。社区的结构维度大致可划分收入 /社会经济地位 (可划分为高、中、低三类 ) ,种族混杂程度 ,居民搬迁率等三个。社区对儿童和青少年的影响机制一般从机构资源、亲子关系和组织度三个角度来探讨     

从"全生避害"到长生不死--论道家重生养生思想向道教神仙信仰的演进

道家思想是道教的思想渊源之一。道家哲学一直有“为我”、“贵生”、“全生”的传统 ,注重保养身体、延长生命。这个传统经杨朱、《老子》、《庄子》再到黄老道家发展下来 ,养生的理论和方法越来越丰富、精细。这些理论及方法在秦汉时代特别是东汉时期与神仙方术相结合 ,最终在早期道经中演变为长生成仙的宗教信仰。     

Tests and Confidence Intervals for an Extended Variance Component Using the Modified Likelihood Ratio Statistic

Abstract.  The large deviation modified likelihood ratio statistic is studied for testing a variance component equal to a specified value. Formulas are presented in the general balanced case, whereas in the unbalanced case only the one-way random effects model is studied. Simulation studies are presented, showing that the normal approximation to the large deviation modified likelihood ratio statistic gives confidence intervals for variance components with coverage probabilities very close to the nominal confidence coefficient.     

Does work during childhood affect the health of Guatemalan adults?

The diversity of potential relationships between child labor and health makes the empirical disentanglement of the causal relationship a difficult exercise. This paper examines the long run impact of child labour on health by controlling for unobserved household specific characteristics. In order to control for the unobserved households specific effect, we estimate a conditional fixed effect model using data on siblings constructed from the Guatemalan National Survey of Living Condition. The estimation results reinforce the conventional wisdom that child labor is harmful for health in the long run. The results can be interpreted as a lower bound of the true impact since healthier children are most likely to offer themselves for employment and to be appointed. Psychological Implications of Motherhood and Fatherhood in Midlife: Evidence From Sibling Models

Using data from 4,744 full, twin, half‐, adopted, and stepsiblings in the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study, I examine psychological consequences of motherhood and fatherhood in midlife. My analysis includes between‐family models that compare individuals across families and within‐family models comparing siblings from the same family to account for unobserved genetic and environmental endowments that may confound the relationship between parenthood and mental health. Further, I examine whether the psychological effect of parenthood varies among different types of sibling dyads. The findings reveal that parenthood has similar psychological implications for middle‐aged mothers and fathers. Main differences arise from specific configurations of the parental role. The association between parenthood and mental health partly reflects genetic influences but not shared early‐life environment.
