Emerging Hispanic English: New dialect formation in the American South

Although stable Hispanic populations have existed in some regions of the United States for centuries, other regions, including the mid‐Atlantic South, are just experiencing the emergence of permanent Hispanic communities. This situation offers an ideal opportunity to examine the dynamics of new dialect formation in progress, and the extent to which speakers acquire local dialect traits as they learn English as a second language. We focus on the production of the /ai/ diphthong among adolescents in two emerging Hispanic communities, one in an urban and one in a rural context. Though both English and Spanish have the diphthong /ai/, the Southern regional variant of the benchmark local dialect norm is unglided, thus providing a local dialect alternative. The instrumental analysis of /ai/ shows that there is not pervasive accommodation to the local norm by Hispanic speakers learning English. There is, however, gradient, incremental adjustment of the /ai/, and individual speakers who adopt local cultural values may accommodate to the local dialect pattern.     

Who knows what? Reconfiguring the governance and the capabilities of the supply chain between physical and digital processes in the fashion industry

Abstract

On the basis of an exploratory multiple-case qualitative longitudinal study in the fashion industry, this article describes how digital technologies enabled choices among different types of supply chain governance. In doing so, this study responds to calls for governance-oriented longitudinal explorations and suggests an alternative path of governance choices in which the digital technologies become the platform that allows a dynamic discourse between outsourcer and outsourcee. Our results show that, when firms decide to leverage their performances through the adoption of information technology, they need to define their knowledge transfer capacities in order to adopt the appropriate type of governance model. With this article, we contribute to the global value chain literature adding to the knowledge transfer dimension.     

论当代音乐教育的重心转移

由于我国近现代的音乐教育建立在西方模式上，是以“西方中心论”为基础的，因此，我国目前的音乐创作、音乐教育、音乐表演甚至我们的听觉音感、价值史观都受到西方音乐的影响。如今，多元文化音乐教育已经成为国际音乐教育的主流，我们应该思考在全球化的语境中如何发展具有自己本民族特色的音乐教育。从知识转型的角度来思考和审视我国目前的音乐教育，音乐教育的重心须从注重技术培养和西方音乐的传授转移到发展文化理解的多元文化音乐教育。     

城镇化水平、农村劳动力转移与经济增长

文章基于2009—2013年省级层面面板数据,实证检验了城镇化水平、农村劳动力转移以及两者交互效应对经济增长的影响机制,研究表明：城镇化水平越高的地区,经济发展状况越好;农村劳动力转入越多的地区,经济发展状况越好;在其他条件不变的情况下,在城镇化水平较低的地区,农村劳动力转移对于经济增长的促进作用会更加明显。基于以上研究结论,提出推动我国经济均衡跨越发展的对策建议。     

农村宅基地使用权流转析论

农村宅基地问题是我国物权立法中“具有中国物色”的一个问题,对于其是否可以流转,近年来学者颇有争议,本文立足于中国农村宅基地转让的客观实际,比较分析各方观点,从理论和实践两方面阐述允许宅基地自由流转的理由,并设计了宅基地流转的相关制度,以期能对宅基地流转问题的解决有所裨益。

母语负迁移是英语学习过程中的一种常见现象。如何消除母语负迁移是值得教师研究的课题。作者借助对比分析的方法,结合教学实践,从语言、思维模式和文风以及中西文化三个层面出发,找出负迁移容易产生的区域,并试探讨了在英语教学中可行的对策。     

Regional Development Agencies in Turkey: Are They Examples of Obligated Policy Transfer?

EU requires the candidate states to introduce the necessary legal arrangements and administrative reforms to harmonize with the EU’s regional policy, and the establishment of RDAs is an important element of those administrative reforms. This is an example of “obligated policy transfer,” which is a subtype of policy transfer. In this context, this article aims to analyze the establishment of RDAs in Turkey as an example of obligated policy transfer. Within this perspective, this article primarily explicates the conceptual framework of policy transfer and obligated transfer as a subtype of policy transfer. Second, the place of RDAs within the EU regional policy and Turkey’s view of regional governments and development conception will be briefly dealt with. Finally, establishment of RDAs in Turkey will be analyzed, using official documents, as an example of obligated policy transfer and the role of EU will be demonstrated.

Headquarters Allocation of Resources to Innovation Transfer Projects within the Multinational Enterprise

This paper examines headquarters allocation of resources to specific innovation transfer projects within the multinational enterprise between sending and receiving subsidiaries, focusing on the role of the subsidiary hosting the transfer. Resource allocation is of key strategic importance for the organization given that resources are limited in the multinational enterprise and that headquarters is the principal actor in distributing resources internally between competing innovation transfer projects. Findings from a dataset of 169 innovation transfer projects reveal that headquarters tend to favor established lines of innovation at the subsidiary level, as opposed to overall subsidiary operational relatedness for additional corporate resources. It is found that headquarters also tend to allocate resources to acquired subsidiaries' transfer projects to a higher degree than to those of greenfield ones. A curvilinear effect is found for subsidiary bargaining power which is initially positive and subsequently negative. The results highlight that certain subsidiary and innovation traits are determinants of headquarters resource allocation.
