湘西多元文化在湘西土家、苗、侗等民族中的互动互渗产生了一定程度的伦理要素的趋同,从而构成湘西少数民族地区社会主义精神文明建设的起点和基础.湘西精神文明建设是一个集脱巫与返魅、传统与现代、民族性与时代性诸矛盾相统一的综合创新的历史过程,关键是要解决好时代性和民族性的关系问题.湘西精神文明建设要借鉴周公"神道设教"的文化创造之路,并要注意抓好几个重要环节.

Presence of ‘America’ in Religious Circles of India

The paper shows how ‘America’ gradually became present in the Religious Circles of India after the arrival of Swami Vivekananda in America in 1893. Swami Vivekananda is the first individual who not only succeeded in introducing Hinduism, Vedanta in particular, to America and the West, but also in introducing what he considered to be the best aspects of American scientific and material culture to India. The bridge which Swami Vivekananda built and opened between America and India continues to be travelled by the saints, mystics, and religious leaders of India and the philanthropists, spiritual seekers and scholars of religion of America and the West even today. This modern re-synthesis of the material and the scientific with the Vedanta has been beneficial to both countries and cultures.     

Spiritual Interventions in Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention

Abstract

This article reviews the recent research literature related to the use of spiritual interventions in the prevention and treatment of substance abuse. Empirical outcome studies are critically reviewed and a brief overview is given of spiritual interventions which have yet to be studied empirically. Areas for further research are delineated and philosophical and methodological issues related to the study of spiritual interventions are discussed.     

乡村都市化与回族精神社区的文化构建——银川市民乐社区的民族志研究

乡村都市化使卷入的回族家庭在新的行政社区寻求宗教认同，进行文化构建活动。民乐回族社区是银川伊斯兰文化建设最为活跃的社区，清真寺、阿语学校、民族幼儿园三者负载着文化传播功能。村落共同体的解体改变了人们的观念和交往方式，精神社区的认同超越了原来的地域界限，它是回族以伊斯兰文化强化族群边界的精神纽带。随着居民与流动人口比例的消长，社区也可能出现分化。
