生产安全事故与自然灾害信息对中国股票市场影响的实证研究

采用事件研究法以2003～2013年间中国上市公司118个关于受生产安全事故、自然灾害影响的公告为样本实证研究了此类事件对中国股票市场的影响。研究结果表明：（1）相比牛市而言,熊市环境下事故灾害对股市产生影响的持续时间更长;（2）生产安全事故比自然灾害对股市的影响更大,自然灾害对股市呈现分阶段的影响;（3）不同行业受事故灾害的影响程度各不相同,电力、热力、燃气及水生产和供应业几乎不受负面影响;（4）同等严重程度的事故灾害信息的披露对小规模公司所产生的短期影响要大于大规模公司,但其对大规模公司的影响时间更持久。

朝鲜半岛突发性事件处理与中国的对策思考

"天安舰事件"和"延坪岛炮击事件"极大地拉升了朝鲜半岛局势持续紧张级别的同时,也进一步突显朝鲜半岛以和平机制取代停战机制的必要性、紧迫性和艰巨性。在这期间,一系列的新旧矛盾、利益纠结和复杂博弈,致使朝鲜半岛各类突发性事件在所难免。这些覆盖传统安全和非传统安全领域的各类危机事件,不仅极易诱发韩国各界政治心态的巨大波动,还会进一步加剧朝鲜半岛局势紧张状态,从而使中国周边安全环境及周边外交政策面临严峻挑战。为此,中国有必要建立相应的朝鲜半岛危机管理机制,以便在突发性事件或各类危机爆发之时,及时做出反应,合理决策行动,尽量避免国家利益受损,更好地维护本地区局势稳定与和平。     

One‐sample and two‐sample analysis of heterogeneous person–time data in clinical trials

In this paper, we investigate the performance of different parametric and nonparametric approaches for analyzing overdispersed person–time–event rates in the clinical trial setting. We show that the likelihood‐based parametric approach may not maintain the right size for the tested overdispersed person–time–event data. The nonparametric approaches may use an estimator as either the mean of the ratio of number of events over follow‐up time within each subjects or the ratio of the mean of the number of events over the mean follow‐up time in all the subjects. Among these, the ratio of the means is a consistent estimator and can be studied analytically. Asymptotic properties of all estimators were studied through numerical simulations. This research shows that the nonparametric ratio of the mean estimator is to be recommended in analyzing overdispersed person–time data. When sample size is small, some resampling‐based approaches can yield satisfactory results. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Local press meets transnational activism: news dynamics in an anti‐WTO protest

Transnational protests often involve a cross‐cultural encounter between “foreign” protesters and the local media and public, whose repertoires of contentious practices and discourses may differ. Examining how transnational and local actors interact in these events is one way to understand the significance and impact of transnational activism. At the same time, local media coverage of transnational protests can also be analyzed as such a cross‐cultural encounter. Following these premises, this article examines Hong Kong media coverage of the transnational protests during the World Trade Organization's 6th Ministerial Conference, which was held in the city in December 2005. The analysis focuses particularly on how this non‐routine news event provided the conditions for a more reflective interactive dynamics between the protesters and journalists, which contributed to emergence of media discourses negotiating and redefining the existing cultural understanding of protest actions. However, the case study also shows the limits regarding how far the redefinition and negotiation can go. Theoretical implications of the analysis are discussed.

《水浒传》最后两回有一种倒贯全书的气势,使全书变成一出千古悲剧。两回书主要以塑造悲剧人物形象为核心,体现悲剧的美。由描写两组悲剧人物的结局为开端,中间反复描写悲中有喜、喜中有悲、悲喜交集等几类人物,最后推出最具悲剧性格的两组人物,形成波澜起伏的悲剧情节,激起读者各种各样的情感,最大限度地发挥悲剧的审美作用,显示出极高的审美价值。     

Die Rolle des Luftverkehrsrechts und der Haftung bei Flugzeugkatastrophen: Eine Finanzmarktanalyse

Zusammenfassung  Rechtsansprüche gegen Fluggesellschaften und Flugzeughersteller in Folge einer Flugzeugkatastrophe richten sich nach einer Flut rechtlicher Bestimmungen, die aus internationalen Abkommen, Vereinbarungen zwischen Fluglinien sowie aus Bundes- und Landesrecht resultieren. Die jeweilige Rechtsgrundlage in einem spezifischen Fall h?ngt von verschiedenen Umst?nden ab, die mit einem Unfall verbunden sind. Es überrascht daher nicht, dass zugesprochene Schadensersatz- und Schmerzensgeldzahlungen an die Angeh?rigen der Opfer von Fall zu Fall erheblich divergieren. In unserer Studie mit U.S.-amerikanischen Daten untersuchen wir, inwieweit der kurz- und langfristige Erfolg von Fluggesellschaften und Flugzeugherstellern durch Flugzeugkatastrophen beeinflusst wird und wir eruieren diejenigen Determinanten, die Performanceunterschiede erkl?ren k?nnen. Verwandte Untersuchungen haben sich weitgehend auf Effekte für Markennamen oder steigende Versicherungspr?mien als Ursachen für Aktienkursverluste konzentriert. Unsere Ergebnisse zeigen darüber hinaus, dass das regulatorische Umfeld einer spezifischen Unglückssituation erheblichen Einfluss darauf hat, wie Finanzm?rkte reagieren. Die Reaktionen der Marktteilnehmer weisen darauf hin, dass die unterschiedlichen Berechnungsgrundlagen für die Opferentsch?digung recht klar erkannt werden.

The role of aviation laws and legal liability in airplane accidents: A financial market perspective

Summary  Legal liability claims against airlines and airplane manufacturers following an aviation disaster are determined through a myriad of international treaties, intercarrier agreements, and federal and state laws. Which law applies in a specific situation depends on various circumstances surrounding the accident. As a result, pecuniary and non-pecuniary damage awards for the families of the accident victims may vary substantially from case to case. Using U.S. data, our study examines how aviation disasters affect the short and long-term performance of airlines and airplane manufacturers and explores the factors that drive the performance differences. While prior research has largely focused on brand name effects and rising insurance premiums as possible determinants of stock price losses, our results suggest that the regulatory environment that applies to a given aviation accident has a significant impact on how the market reacts to its announcement. Inequities in the valuation of a human life are clearly reflected in stock price reactions. While recent regime changes have helped eliminate some of these imbalances further reform may be necessary.
