Des « employeurs multiples » au « noyau dur » d'employeurs : relations d'emploi et concurrence sur le marché des comédiens intermittents

Managerial literature sometimes uses an ideal-type of contingent labor to describe what it imagines to be future changes in organizing work and labor. These changes would entail a shortening and, therefore, multiplication of labor contracts. Statistics on the intermittents du spectacle (an administrative category in France referring to performers as well as stagehands who work for the duration of a project in show business, television and the performing arts) are analyzed to show that the conception of work in the media industry, as reflected in the aforementioned writings, cannot account for the actual plurality of relations between these part-time employees and their employers. In the media industry labor market, two types of labor relations can be distinguished. The one is close to the ideal-type of an intermittent employee who has occasional relations with his employer, whereas the other is based on a “hard core” of employers with whom an employee has recurrent relations. This core significantly affects the number of engagements of these performing artists and contributes decisively to the stability of their careers.     

Blinded sample size re‐estimation in superiority and noninferiority trials: bias versus variance in variance estimation

The internal pilot study design allows for modifying the sample size during an ongoing study based on a blinded estimate of the variance thus maintaining the trial integrity. Various blinded sample size re‐estimation procedures have been proposed in the literature. We compare the blinded sample size re‐estimation procedures based on the one‐sample variance of the pooled data with a blinded procedure using the randomization block information with respect to bias and variance of the variance estimators, and the distribution of the resulting sample sizes, power, and actual type I error rate. For reference, sample size re‐estimation based on the unblinded variance is also included in the comparison. It is shown that using an unbiased variance estimator (such as the one using the randomization block information) for sample size re‐estimation does not guarantee that the desired power is achieved. Moreover, in situations that are common in clinical trials, the variance estimator that employs the randomization block length shows a higher variability than the simple one‐sample estimator and in turn the sample size resulting from the related re‐estimation procedure. This higher variability can lead to a lower power as was demonstrated in the setting of noninferiority trials. In summary, the one‐sample estimator obtained from the pooled data is extremely simple to apply, shows good performance, and is therefore recommended for application. 根据多年生高原植被独有的高原适应特性，及高原严寒多变、生态脆弱，种草恢复高原植被效果差、成本高、周期长的气候环境条件，通过对高原植被移养、再植季节与移植、养护方法的深入探索，在充分利用路基基底、土场、便道等原有草皮的基础上，提出了能快速恢复高原植被、及时防护加固路基边坡和代替圬工结构施作草皮水沟的植被移养再植技术。并提高了高原植被移养再植的利用率和成活率。有效地减轻了对高原生态环境的破坏，保证了路基边坡的长期稳定，同时减少了路基圬工结构的数量，节省了大量工程成本。     

Guest Editors' Introduction

This discourse analysis explores traditional and feminist articulations of rape in online mediated discourse regarding the sexual attack on CBS journalist Lara Logan in Egypt in February 2011. Examination of 175 stories and links in the top ten news blogs in the United States showed that the blogosphere contested traditional rape narratives that blamed Logan for the attack and conceptualized rape through a more varied means. In doing so, bloggers engaged in a struggle for meaning, and mainstreamed feminist understandings of sexual violence within the online public space.

First Nations parenting and child reunification: Identifying strengths,barriers, and community needs within the child welfare system

First Nations communities are seeking to improve current service delivery models and create alternative evidence‐based strategies. A First Nations child welfare organization has prioritized further understanding of reunification and parenting, including identification of successes and barriers to reunification, and service needs within communities. These priorities were addressed with a community‐based participatory research model and guided by a Research Advisory. Results were analysed using a blend of grounded theory and thematic analysis techniques. Participants indicated that placing children with extended family or within home communities facilitate best child outcomes. These reunifications could be increased by promoting parental and community capacity. Successes identified within communities included available supports, such as those that increased empowerment and community capacity. Identified barriers within communities were the lack of culturally appropriate services, hesitancy to obtain available support due to fears of child welfare intervention, and mental health difficulties of community member.

刘勰为什么肯定“般若绝境”

刘勰所用之“般若”虽来自印度佛教逻辑,但从《文心雕龙》篇章中内容上看,却与佛教没多大关系。刘勰是从其哲学本体上肯定般若学在对待“有”、“无”关系上的基本态度的。刘勰的哲学受魏晋玄学尤其是王弼的观点的影响,认为“无”是哲学之本体,但亦不完全否认“有”的存在与价值。王弼主张以有训无、举本统末,与王衍、何晏为首的贵无派完全否认“有”的存在与价值和以裴■、郭象为首的崇有派完全否认“无”的本体意义的观点都不同。而般若学所谓六家七宗等各派,虽观点有分歧,但在对本末有无问题上却基本一致,他们都不像何晏与裴■那样偏执一端,完全否认“有”或完全否认“无”,而是如王弼那样,既肯定“无”为根本,也不否认“有”的存在与价值,这正是《文心雕龙·原道》中所表现出来的刘勰的总的哲学观点,所以他才肯定“般若之绝境”,而不是团于宗教门户之见。
