Measures of Deprivation and their Meaning in Terms of Social Satisfaction

This paper proposes relative and absolute measures of deprivation using social satisfaction functions. The relative (absolute) measure gives us the amount by which social satisfaction can be increased in proportional (absolute) terms by redistributing incomes equally. We also demonstrate the existence of a relationship between summary indices of deprivation (including the Gini coefficient, the maximin index, the coefficient of variation and their absolute counterparts) and social satisfaction.     

Family Ties and the Discontinuity of Divorce in Black and White Newlywed Couples

This paper explores the relationship of family ties to the marital happiness of husbands and wives from intact and disrupted families of origin and to the likelihood that they will divorce by the 4th year of their marriage. Respondents were 199 Black and 173 White couples interviewed as part of the “Early Years of Marriage” study. Analyses showed differences in family connectedness according to whether the family of origin was disrupted, and some variations by race were also evident. Regression analyses revealed that among all spouses, but especially among wives from divorced families, increased closeness to their husbands' families predicted increased happiness in their marriages. Hazard models showed that when husbands' or wives' parents were divorced or separated, couples' closeness to the husbands' family reduced their risk of divorce. Findings are discussed in the context of family systems theory and gender roles related to the forging of links with kin networks.     

Fire and Ice in Marital Communication: Hostile and Distancing Behaviors as Predictors of Marital Distress

This study examined the relationship between partner hostile responsiveness, as well as three types of withdrawing responses (intimacy avoidance, conflict avoidance and angry withdrawal) and both concurrent and prospective marital satisfaction in a community sample of couples. The primary predictor of marital outcomes for wives was partner hostile responsiveness, whereas for husbands it was partner withdrawal. Wives' intimacy avoidance contributed unique variance to the prediction of husbands' marital distress; husbands' conflict avoidance provided a buffering effect for wives in the context of high husband hostile responsiveness. Results underscore the importance of differentiating hostile and distancing behaviors and, further, assessing withdrawal outside of the context of marital conflict.     

城市外围大型居住区的公共服务配置与居民生活满意度——-以北京市为例

近年来,特大城市为了缓解内城人口压力,在城市周边地区建立了一批大型居住区,与此同时,这些居住区中的公共服务资源的配置情况也成为了社区居民们的关注焦点。本文采用定量研究方法,以北京市为例,对其外围六个大型居住区的公共服务资源配置情况及其居民生活满意度进行调查,分析得出了影响城市居民生活满意度的如教育资源、交通状况、文娱设施等5个主要因素。     

双十一活动消费者满意度研究——基于天猫个护美妆类产品文本挖掘

以2021年10月15日至11月30日天猫商城个护美妆的消费者评论数据为样本,运用文本挖掘的方式研究“双十一”活动及活动前后的消费者满意度,并对比2020年同时期,研究“双十一”满意度的演变可得出三个结论：(1)2021年“双十一”满意度评分为0.699 1,满意度相对较高,2021年“双十一”满意度的影响因素有：产品本身、“双十一”优惠活动、物流系统、虚假活动、售后服务;(2)2021年“双十一”活动满意度低于同年“双十一”之前,并在“双十一”之后持续下降,影响满意度前后变动的因素有：“双十一”优惠活动的落差、客服人员不足、部分商品发货较慢;(3)2020年“双十一”活动满意度为0.679 7,整体低于2021年,其中活动升级、物流进步使得满意度略有提升,但商品包装和直播间对满意度造成负面影响。     

杜子春故事所体现的小说趣味漂移——从唐代传奇到明代通俗小说

《杜子春》是唐代小说中"离奇怪诞"类型里比较特出的一篇,它既秉承了本土的"志怪"传统,也融合了异域文学的繁缛夸诞,为小说美学树立了新的表现风格。这篇小说来源于古印度传说,再度变形为明代通俗小说《杜子春三入长安》之后,在小说内涵的发展方面,体现了由出世追求到世俗认同的演化轨迹。     

福建省本科院校体育教师工作满意度研究

运用文献资料法、调查法、访谈法、数理统计法等研究方法,以社会学、管理学知识为指导,以工作满意度为主要指标,对福建省本科院校体育教师工作情况进行调查分析,研究结果显示：福建本科院校体育教师在职业地位、薪酬福利、考核评价方面满意度不高,但对同事关系具有较高的满意度。针对存在的问题,提出了相关建议。     

城市老年人生活满意度及其影响因素研究——以厦门市为个案

基于2007年下半年对厦门市城区老年人生活状况的调查数据分析城市老年人生活满意度及其影响因素。调查表明,与全国其他城市一样,厦门市城区老年人的生活满意度处于较高水平,88．3％的老年人对生活感到满意：二元logistic回归的conditional forward分析显示影响厦门市城区老年人生活满意度的因素．从高到低依次为经济够用程度、子女孝顺程度、日常生活方便程度、婚姻状况、心理状况,logistic回归模型的拟合优度为34．2％。     

Becoming a Parent and Relationship Satisfaction: A Longitudinal Dyadic Perspective

This study investigated the extent to which women's and men's relationship satisfaction within couples is similarly or differently affected by becoming a parent and the extent to which changes in work hours and hours spent on household labor affect a person's own and his or her spouse's relationship satisfaction across the transition to parenthood. The authors conducted longitudinal dyadic analyses, based on 12 waves of the British Household Panel Study (BHPS). They selected 689 couples who remained together during the period of observation and who were employed, childless, and living with their partner (of which 28% married) at the first moment of observation. The results revealed that relationship satisfaction of both members in a couple changed in tandem. Although work hours and household labor had some effect on people's own and their spouse's relationship satisfaction, these factors did not account for the U‐shaped relationship satisfaction pattern associated with the transition to parenthood.     

The Quality of Life in South Korea

The AsiaBarometer survey of 1,023 respondents shows Life in Korea is highly modernized and digitalized without being much globalized. Despite the modernization and digitalization of their lifestyles, ordinary citizens still prioritize materialistic values more than post-materialistic values, and they remain least satisfied in the material life sphere. A multivariate analysis of the Korean survey reveals that their positive assessments of their standard of living and marriage are the most powerful influences on the quality of life they experience. Remarkable improvements in the objective conditions of life for the past three decades have failed to transform Korea into a nation of well-being.
