Problems of Taxonomy,Issues of Class,Citizenship, Consumption,and Avdot’ia Smirnova’s KoKoKo (2012)

Sundry discussions of Russian society by scholars, journalists, and politicians suffer from imprecise taxonomy, wielding labels such as middle class, civil society, and creative class in an automatic transfer of discursive categories long defining Western societies to one at increasing odds with numerous Western values. As various surveys by Russian sociologists have indicated, a ‘middle class’ and ‘civil society’ in the traditional sense do not exist in Russia. Moreover, even ‘the intelligentsia’, as historically defined, seems to have diminished, evaporated, or emigrated. Indeed, the incisive portrayal of contemporary Russian class distinctions in Avdot’ia Smirnova’s film KoKoKo (2012) exposes the impotence of the self-serving intelligentsia, contrasted to the vitality and drive of ‘the people’, who may be the only hope for Russia’s future – neither the radiant future fantasized by the Soviet Union nor the democratic future that seemed possible after perestroika, but one that meaningful resistance to the authoritarianism of Putin’s regime will need to elaborate step by painstaking step.     

Can a blind person play dodge ball? Enacting body and cognition with a group of youths with visual disabilities

This paper presents some results of research carried out with a group of blind and partially sighted youths who are enrolled in a school for people with visual disabilities in Brazil. This research aims to promote different articulations between the body and cognition. Based on actor–network theory, it considers that having a body means learning to be affected by widely differing actors. The field research was carried out through body expression activities, which seek to promote connections between the body and heterogeneous materials, such as a ball, a rattle or a colleague. The paper indicates that cognition is the effect of these collective body experiences. It also underlines that these body experiences have produced new ways of knowing amongst the blind and partially sighted youths. In the conclusion it is stressed that psychology research on disability must be done with (and not about) people with visual disability. ¹ 1. ‘Roots and wings’: an exploration of intergenerational play

Play is an important part of life, not only during childhood but also into adulthood and later life. While scholars have emphasized the physical, social, psychological, and cognitive benefits of play for children, few researchers have explored the role of play in later life. One context in which aging adults find opportunities to play is with their grandchildren. This qualitative study employed visual and text analyses to explore the experience of intergenerational play from the perspectives of grandchildren and grandparents. Findings indicated that both groups of participants were motivated to engage in play together, negotiated constraints to experience play, and received various benefits from playing with their grandparent or grandchild. Recommendations are provided to assist professionals in programming for intergenerational play and for further exploration of the motivations, benefits, and constraints associated with intergenerational play.     

Asian Girls are Prettier: Gendered Presentations as Stigma Management among Gay Asian Men

Despite the well‐documented cases of racism toward gay Asian men in the gay community, there is currently little research on how gay Asian men manage racial stigma. In this article, I examine the racial stigma management strategies of gay Asian men. I examine the nature of gay racial stigma toward gay Asian men and find that they use gendered presentations to counter the stereotype that they are more feminine than gay white men. While some gay Asian men engender a hypermasculine presentation, others use a hyperfeminine presentation to trade a more‐stigmatized status for one that is less stigmatizing. More important, these men actively embrace stereotypes to successfully make these transitions. This article demonstrates that stigmatized groups can manage stigma by highlighting their spoiled identities rather than attempting to minimize them.

《融合与共生——东亚视域中的日本哲学》一书提出要把日本哲学思想研究置于“东亚视域”乃至“全球视域”加以研究的新视角,从这一新的视角入手,该书对近代日本哲学中的重要问题进行论析,提出“融合与共生”是日本哲学的基本特征。该书进而从日本文化乃至东方文化的视域论证此特征,提出构建和谐东亚、和谐世界的哲学基础是东方哲学家的共同课题。     

A national discovery and loss of a landscape – photographic images of the Curonian Spit

The Curonian Spit, formerly part of East Prussia and divided today between Lithuania and the Kaliningrad Oblast (Russian Federation), is one of the iconic landscapes in the German collective memory of the territories lost after the Second World War. Using examples from the popular genre of photographic books (Bildbände) from the 1930s to the 1960s, this article discusses to what extent previous representations (textual and visual) informed the photographic reservoir of images of the Curonian Spit as the ‘most famous landscape of East Prussia’ and explores how in the environment of the homeland societies the Curonian Spit finally transformed from an image of a national discovery into an icon of loss.

招股说明书是具有法律约束力的意思表示,内容、格式和披露程序具有法定性,性质为要约。要约本质性在于合同主体作出的允诺。在合同缔结中,法律强制将当事人事实陈述与保证纳入合同条款。对此问题的研究对理解招股说明书的要约性质具有重要意义。中国现行立法已经借鉴国际上对招股说明书要约性质定位的理论经验。     

影视剧的内在戏剧性及诗的意象

从发生学的视角俯瞰,影视艺术本体中带有戏剧基因,其内在的戏剧性应是影视艺术意象的有机组成部分。影视文学剧本与舞台剧本同属戏剧文学范畴;而从诗的意象与视听意象的关系上看,戏剧影视剧本在整个影视剧艺术中的基础地位不可削弱。面对世纪之交,"视觉文化时代"图像泛滥而语言、文学、想象力受到忽视的现状,影视艺术应追求诗的意象的魅力,而戏剧性与音乐精神的联姻也必将成为现代戏剧在新世纪的发展方向。
