浅议世界女子高校发展之路——从WEW教师论坛谈起

在崭新的世纪,世界女子高校将有何发展?世界妇女教育组织(WEW)的成立与2011年教师论坛的召开让我们认识到世界女子高校在发展中存在的问题,在坚定了发展女子高校信念的同时,对中国的女子高校亦有所启示。     

Mentoring in social work: key findings from a women's community-based mentoring program

Based on a social intervention research study into mentoring with women from socioeconomically disadvantaged communities, this study considers some of the key differences between traditional workplace and community-based mentoring when used as a social work intervention. The study involved 18 women who participated in a preparation-for-mentoring groupwork program for 12 months. Eleven of these participants were then matched with a mentor and supported in this relationship for a further 12 months. Qualitative analysis points to three key factors likely to enhance the success of community-based mentoring relationships: (i) relational qualities, such as trust, engagement, and authenticity; (ii) mentees' readiness for change and ability to overcome adversity; and (iii) mentors' practical assistance with tasks and overcoming obstacles. Social workers implementing a community-based mentoring program need to be mindful of the importance of these factors in order to ensure that mentees are supported to engage effectively in any mentoring relationship and overcome structural, community, and familial barriers that may adversely affect them.     

Policy advocacy and leadership training for formerly incarcerated women: An empowerment evaluation of ReConnect,a program of the Women in Prison Project,Correctional Association of New York

There is limited knowledge on re-entry initiatives for formerly incarcerated women specifically on building women's advocacy and leadership skills. Our research highlights an empowerment evaluation on ReConnect, a 12-session; innovative advocacy and leadership development program rooted in an integrated framework of empowerment, and transformational leadership theories. Using thematic analysis, we coded three focus groups with 24 graduates, for themes that matched our framework's concepts. ReConnect graduates reported being empowered by the information they received on parental rights, housing, and employment. Participants agreed that ReConnect improved their communication skills, preparing them to advocate for themselves and community members.     

Religion in the Lives of Older Women Serving Life in Prison

This exploratory qualitative study examined the roles of religiousness in the lives of 21 older women (mean age = 63) serving life sentences in one southern state. Based on survey and focus group methodology, several themes emerged as important focal points, including early religious experiences prior to incarceration, imprisonment and religious doubt, participation in formal and informal religious activities, and use of religion in coping with stressors such as interpersonal relationships, trauma, and health statuses. Irrespective of their religious upbringing, all participants agreed that religiosity/spirituality played a key role in their ability to cope with their prison experience as well as for maintaining hope and the opportunity for release.     

湖南省学前教育普及现状调查与对策建议

湖南省实施发展学前教育三年行动计划效果明显，学前教育机构总数、在园幼儿数、学前三年毛入学率显著增加。与经济发达省份对比，湖南省学前教育普及水平还比较落后，城镇学前教育普及水平明显高于农村地区，县域之间学前教育普及水平差距明显。湖南省普及学前教育面临的主要问题是：政府主导作用发挥不够、农村学前教育普及水平落后、学前教育基础建设不足、普及学前教育路径不畅。推进湖南学前教育持续普及，需要构建学前教育公共服务体系，大力扶持农村学前教育，建立学前教育的保障体系，优化学前教育普及模式。     

黄山市音乐考级的现状调查与研究

音乐考级是对音乐能力进行的分级考试。黄山市作为皖南山城,具有浓厚的徽州文化底蕴,在当地老百姓的观念中学习艺术是旁门左道,自从十年前第一个音乐考级点建立起,至今已有三个考级单位,参与培训并获得考级证书的学员近万人。极大程度上推动了黄山市素质教育的发展,更新了老百姓的传统观念。本文通过对黄山市音乐考级现状的调查与分析,了解本市音乐考级这一机制的运行情况,总结音乐考级带来的成效以及存在的不良发展趋向,提出解决弊端的方法并对黄山市音乐考级未来发展提出建设性的建议。     

A Fragmentary Archive: Migratory Feelings in Early Anglo-Saxon Women’s Letters

The letters by Anglo-Saxon women in the Boniface correspondence are connected by cultural practices and emotions centered on the conversion mission that functioned to maintain connections between the Anglo-Saxon diaspora. A striking recurring focus of these letters is on loss and isolation, which connects them to the Old English elegies. Many of the letters describe the writers’ traumatic experiences that result from the death or absence of kin. These are women who endured the trauma of being left behind when others migrated overseas or who, in traveling away from their homeland, found themselves isolated in an alien environment, displaced in time as well as space. This article offers an analysis of the letters, focusing on the queer temporalities they explore, the queer emotions they evoke, and the queer kinships that they forge. It argues that the women’s letters represent fragments of an early queer archive of migratory feelings.     

An International Comparative Study on Women's Pension Rights and Their Economic Risks

This article examined the theoretical meanings of pension rights and analyzed their effects on women's economic risks in developed countries. First, based on the status of a citizen, worker, parent, and spouse, this study investigated how pension benefits are guaranteed as a citizen regardless of work history, the degree to which women's disadvantageous situations in the labor market and unpaid work are compensated by public pension as workers and parents, and how marital status is treated in the different pension systems. Second, analysis of the effect of pension rights showed that individual rights is a significant factor to prevent economic risks of elderly women. Derived rights did not seem to secure the economic welfare of elderly women, at least in a comparative context. This finding suggested that developing individual rights, rather than derived rights, is the way to guarantee long‐term elderly women's economic welfare.     

Thriving Older African American Women: Aging After Jim Crow

ABSTRACT

This paper is based on the findings of small group discussions with self-defined successful African American women age 60+ in Charlotte, North Carolina. These women, who lived through the Jim Crow era and thrived in spite of the obstacles, continue to seek meaning in their lives through the roles they play in their families, churches, and communities. They feel strongly that there is a core of key values that continue to hold meaning and struggle to impart these values to those whose lives they touch. The key values identified include education, religion, work, and giving back to the community, and illustrate the integration of both traditional and nontraditional definitions of success. Mentoring is proposed as an important concept for understanding the lives of African American women in later life.     

清末政治思想中的民论探析

民论是清末政治改革思潮中的重要内容。在清末这一变动剧烈的时代中,人们对于民的认识发生了诸多变化,对当时及其后的政治发展产生了重要影响。清末的民论包括对民之地位与民之权利的论述等内容。清末民初思想家普遍认识到了民的重要性,对民的地位、民的权利进行了不同于传统民论的新的阐释。但对于民的能力却大多抱以悲观的态度,因此在是否给予民以充分的自由权利、提高普通民的政治地位问题上显现出迟疑和保守。
