舶来与本土化:澳大利亚殖民主义时期哥特式小说研究

在英美文学界,自从20世纪80年代以来,随着文化研究的发展,哥特式文学得到了热烈的讨论和研究。然而,由于白人历史不够悠久,澳大利亚长期以来被认为缺乏哥特式小说滋生的古堡文化,因而,哥特式小说在澳大利亚的新发展也未引起学术界的广泛重视。考察哥特式小说在澳大利亚殖民主义时期进行移植的可能性并且梳理哥特式小说在澳大利亚的本土化新发展,既可以拓宽澳大利亚文学研究的视野,也可以丰富哥特式文学研究。     

The social experience of physically disabled Australian university students

Research on the university experience of disabled students has focused on barriers in learning and teaching, while the social world of university has as yet gained little attention as a distinctive object of study. Here we examine social experience and socially imposed restrictions through the lenses of social capital and self-concept. A qualitative study investigated the formation of social capital and changes in self-concept amongst physically disabled Australian university students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analysed using a grounded theory approach. The study found weak social attachments at university, but stronger attachments outside. Self-concept did not appear to be structured in any direct way by university-generated social capital, partly as a consequence of its weakness.     

Emotions in organization–public relationships: Proposing a new determinant

Emotions have been left largely out of debate over the indicators that make up organization–public relationship (OPR) frameworks. This exploratory study analyses the importance of emotions in OPR. Results show that emotions are highly influential in this relationship. On these grounds, the paper suggests expanding existing conceptual analyses of OPR to include emotions.     

HIPPY计划：“以家庭为中心”的澳大利亚学前教育

1969年Avima Lombard教授和她的团队在耶路撒冷希伯来大学创立了HIPPY学前教育项目，此后在多个国家内得到推行，文章主要介绍HIPPY计划在澳大利亚的开展情况。1998年HIPPY计划进入澳大利亚，2007年澳大利亚政府意识到该项目的潜力，于是介入HIPPY计划当中并开展了一系列推进行动。澳大利亚政府对HIPPY理念的认同和创新及其全面成熟的运作体系，可为现阶段我国大力推广学前教育提供适合的国际项目经验。     

澳大利亚生态环境保护的举措及经验借鉴

澳大利亚在发展经济的同时,较早地对生态环境进行有效保护,使经济发展与生态环境相互协调,同步推进;澳大利亚把生态环境保护纳入国家战略、建立全民参与的环境保护机制、坚持依法依规治理环境、实现城市建设和管理的生态化、强调尊重自然规律等,都是值得学习和借鉴的一些成功做法;当然,澳大利亚在生态环境保护方面也存在一些利己主义行为,对全球环境保护不利。     

Feminist collectives or private owners: both used media to advance lesbian goals

From the 1970s in Australia, feminist collectives published lesbian magazines that challenged gay male thinking, the women’s movement, and mainstream society. From the late 1980s such publishing ventures were increasingly undertaken by privately-owned publishing businesses. Responding to change around them, the political project for these private media ventures shifted from radical restructuring of society to promotion of lesbian community. Their publishers developed synergies with this developing community that expanded advertising revenues and distribution, and assisted the growth of both community and the publications. This led to greater readership reach and a range of relationships with mainstream businesses that further built community and made lesbians more visible.     

English proficiency in Australia, 1981 to 2016

Using Australian census data, the paper examines the incidence of poor English competency in Australia from 1981 onwards. The paper examines English competency in relation to various characteristics such as sex, age, language spoken, visa type, citizenship, duration of residence and location. It finds that there was a sharp rise in the numbers of people not speaking English well between the 2011 and 2016 Censuses and special attention is given to this rise in the paper. Recently, the Australian Government unsuccessfully legislated for the introduction of a requirement of English competency at the level of IELTS 6 (the commonly used university entrance level) as a condition for the award of Australian citizenship. The paper argues that this test would have led to a very large number of disenfranchised Australian permanent residents and this would be a highly undesirable result. Nevertheless, employment and social participation are strongly influenced by English competency and residents with poor English are disadvantaged. The policy suggestion is made that participation in a course of English language training for those without functional English skills could be made a precondition of the award of permanent residence—without the application of a passing grade.

本文从李明博政府外交战略的角度审视韩国与澳大利亚经贸关系,首先分析了国际关系经贸化、世界经济区域化、中国崛起、中美两强竟合与南北国家经济竟合等当前国际关系五大特征及在此背景下韩澳的政经互动,尤其是韩国总统李明博的《新亚洲外交构想》、澳大利亚对李明博政府的意义、澳大利亚在李明博政府外交战略中所扮演的角色与功能,然后是就澳大利亚的响应、韩澳双边自由贸易协议(free trade agreement,简称FTA)谈判现况与未来望作了分析。
