An Algorithmic Approach to Elementary ANOVA

An elementary approach to the analysis of variance for balanced designs is sketched and illustrated with an analysis of a repeated measures design. The approach is based on a conceptually simple algorithm that computes the usual linear decomposition of the data by repeatedly calculating and removing averages for groups of observations corresponding to the sources of variation in the design. An interactive computer program, written in Applesoft Basic, is available for use in teaching the algorithm.

Although the use of technology to improve education is not a new idea, until recently there have been few notable successes. During the past five years, a learning system was designed that incorporates several techniques, including the videodisc, computer, and monitor, to accomplish interactive individualized learning in several audio and visual modes. Multidisciplinary eHealth survey evaluation methods

This paper describes the development process of an evaluation framework for describing and comparing web survey tools. We believe that this approach will help shape the design, development, deployment, and evaluation of population-based health interventions. A conceptual framework for describing and evaluating web survey systems will enable the developers of health interventions to identify, select, and use the most appropriate and relevant survey tools. The primary contributors included survey methodologists, computer scientists, informaticians, technical communications specialists, educators, evaluators, clinical practitioners, and health services researchers, who together developed a comprehensive ontology to describe the electronic survey domain. This paper will describe the survey ontology development process and detail lessons learned in the creation of the web survey system evaluation framework.

改革开放至今,山东省的人口发展与工业化城镇化发展相互促进,共同推动了人口再生产方式的转变和工业化城镇化进程,进入了健康、合理、良性互动的发展时期。但是,人口规模持续膨胀、城镇化发展水平滞后、城镇体系结构不合理、人口分布与城镇分布矛盾等问题依然制约人口与工业化城镇化的协调发展。促进人口数量、素质、结构、分布协调发展,走新型工业化和新型城镇化道路,实现人口与工业化城镇化协调发展,是山东省不懈的追求。     

探究大学英语教学中的课堂互动

如果说英语教学是一门艺术,那么教学方法就是教学艺术的具体表现。文章通过个案研究,结合教学主体与客体的相互关系,阐述互动教学的理论和现实意义,并对互动教学策略的运用进行了探讨,证明互动教学模式将是打破英语教学实践长期低效“瓶颈“的突破口。     

How the world's top universities provide dialogic forums for marginalized voices

Viewed through the lens of the dialogic theory of public relations, this study examines if universities use new media tools and how the world's top universities use Facebook as an interactive forum that give voice to key stakeholders. With the declining economy and limited access to resources, it is important to know how organizations utilize Web-based tools to build and maintain relationships at national and global levels. Because prior research found that users had negative feelings about lack of dialogue on college websites, it is also important to know whether universities are tapping into the dialogic potential. The content analyses of the websites and Facebook platforms show that more than half of the universities have Facebook pages. The results also show that users cannot post content or photos, or participate in discussions and wall posts. In essence, the voices of key stakeholders are being silenced via a media that is intended to provide open forums for dialogue.     

养老机构的职能再造:基于社会养老服务体系协调发展的思考

养老机构是社会养老服务体系的重要组成部分。通过梳理相关政府文件和考察社会养老服务体系建设实践发现,长期以来对养老机构的职能作用过于强调其补充地位,以致机构在发展中存在定位不清、结构不合理、入住人员福利反向导向等问题,在社会养老体系中难以发挥应有作用。据此认为,应根据社会现代化的发展要求,清晰定位并再造机构职能,使机构养老服务在承担集中供养及照护服务的同时,对居家养老提供示范和支持,实现机构与家庭、社区的互联互通,从而促进社会养老服务体系的科学发展。     

意愿与行为：外来人口与本地居民之间的社会互动①--基于东部“人口倒挂”藕村的个案分析

外来人口与本地居民之间的社会互动,是考量外来人口适应并融入城市社会的重要指标。基于浙江省L区“人口倒挂”藕村的调查,研究发现：（1）本地居民对外来人口的主观评价总体正面偏上,但接纳意愿较低,不愿与外来人口建立比较亲密的关系;（2）外来人口对本地居民的主观评价总体负面偏下,但接纳意愿较高,希望与本地居民建立比较亲密的关系;（3）外来人口与本地居民之间的互动行为,总体具有偶尔性、封闭性、浅层性的特点,互动情况不容乐观,但彼此基本相安无事;（4）无论是互动意愿还是互动行为,年轻一代相比年长一代总体具有更多积极表现,但是也具有更强的互动张力,即年轻一代之间更易于发生矛盾冲突。研究认为,当前外来人口与本地居民之间的互动在某种意义上是“纠结型互动”,相比“摩擦性互动”,这是一种处于变迁之中的新型且积极的关系形态。
