Estimating with percentile grouped and truncated date from a scale parameter distribution

Data which is grouped and truncated is considered. We are given numbers n₁<…<n_k=n and we observe X_ni ),i=1,…k, and the tottal number of observations available (N> n_k is unknown. If the underlying distribution has one unknown parameter θ which enters as a scale parameter, we examine the form of the equations for both conditional, unconditional and modified maximum likelihood estimators of θ and N and examine when these estimators will be finite, and unique. We also develop expressions for asymptotic bias and search for modified estimators which minimize the maximum asymptotic bias. These results are specialized tG the zxponential distribution. Methods of computing the solutions to the likelihood equatims are also discussed.     

New Goodness-of-Fit Tests Based on Sample Quantiles

In this article power divergences statistics based on sample quantiles are transformed in order to introduce new goodness-of-fit tests. Quantiles of the distribution of proposed statistics are calculated under uniformity, normality, and exponentiality. Several power comparisons are performed to show that the new tests are generally more powerful than the original ones.

Extension of two-sided test to multiple treatment trials

In a two-treatment trial, a two-sided test is often used to reach a conclusion, Usually we are interested in doing a two-sided test because of no prior preference between the two treatments and we want a three-decision framework. When a standard control is just as good as the new experimental treatment (which has the same toxicity and cost), then we will accept both treatments. Only when the standard control is clearly worse or better than the new experimental treatment, then we choose only one treatment. In this paper, we extend the concept of a two-sided test to the multiple treatment trial where three or more treatments are involved. The procedure turns out to be a subset selection procedure; however, the theoretical framework and performance requirement are different from the existing subset selection procedures. Two procedures (exclusion or inclusion) are developed here for the case of normal data with equal known variance. If the sample size is large, they can be applied with unknown variance and with the binomial data or survival data with random censoring.     

中国农民工的总体性状况分析(英文)

本文通过对相关实证研究文献的疏理,从农民工总量规模、结构分布、对输出地贡献和对输入地影响四个方面对中国农民工的总体性状况进行了描述与分析。在总量规模的分析中,我们需要注意各调查的统计口径,值得注意的是,根据最新发布的农普调查数据,农村外出从业劳动力已达1.3亿,此处数据不含随外出从业劳动力外出的非劳动力人口。外出务工经商者以初中文化的青壮年为主,行业分布以制造业、建筑业和服务业为主,长距离迁移占很高比例。农民工跨区域转移这种就业结构变动对我国经济增长贡献巨大,已有研究估计对GDP增量贡献在20%左右。从输出地来看,总的影响是积极的,特别是收入状况的改善,但也留下了数量庞大的留守族。     

关于运用过剩的外汇储备扶植民营中小企业“走出去”的问题思考

我国现在拥有超过万亿的外汇储备,如何合理运用其过剩部分已经提上了政府的议事日程。而我国民营中小型企业在"走出去"的道路上所面临的主要问题就是由于融资困难,造成企业无法进行由低层次国际化模式向高层次国际化转型。我们是否可以找到一条同时解决这两项问题的通路,即运用过剩的外汇储备来扶植民营中小型企业"走出去"。     

ON A MULTIPLE THREE-DECISION PROCEDURE FOR COMPARING SEVERAL TREATMENTS WITH A CONTROL

For the two-sided comparisons of several treatments with a control, a common statistical problem is to decide which treatments are better than the control and which are worse than the control. This paper studies a multiple three-decision procedure for this purpose, proposed by Bohrer (1979) and Bohrer et al. (1981), and provides tables of critical points to facilitate the application of the procedure. The paper defines a power function of the procedure, and tabulates sample sizes necessary to guarantee a given power level. It addresses the problem of optimal sampling allocation in order to maximize the power for a given total sample size, and considers generalization to the situation where the treatments might have unequal numbers of observations.     

贷款规模管理的新形式及其影响--1996-2004 年上半年货币扩张的因素分析

1996-2003年我国央行基础货币和准备金率均逐年提高,2004年上半年则下降。中央银行对基础货币的管理与稳定宏观经济的目标不完全一致,对法定准备率的调整实际上也不起作用。由于存在行政关系,通过控制商业银行贷款规模,中央银行也参与超额准备率的决定。国有商业银行具有降低超额准备率的倾向。中央银行对商业银行贷款规模的管理成为制约超额准备率、实际准备率的主导因素。因此,我国货币供给具有外生性。但是,中央银行对贷款规模的管理会对商业银行的经营状况造成不利影响,并推迟国有商业银行市场化改革的进程。
