“学而”记疑

《论语》开篇“学而时习”之“学”应是动词“学习”。《论语》“学”共有66处,大多作“学习”解。以“学习”解读“学而时习”,更有助于把握《论语》的主旨:人贵在学,学贵在道、在取友,取友贵在忠恕,忠恕之道贵在教,“学”是贯穿始终的主线。

Foundations of Intrinsic Habit Formation

We provide theoretical foundations for several common (nested) representations of intrinsic linear habit formation. Our axiomatization introduces an intertemporal theory of weaning a decision‐maker from her habits using the device of compensation. We clarify differences across specifications of the model, provide measures of habit‐forming tendencies, and suggest methods for axiomatizing time‐nonseparable preferences.     

Complexity,simplicity, simplexity

“In the midst of order, there is chaos; but in the midst of chaos, there is order”, John Gribbin wrote in his book Deep Simplicity (p. 76). In this dialectical spirit, we discuss the generative tension between complexity and simplicity in the theory and practice of management and organization. Complexity theory suggests that the relationship between complex environments and complex organizations advanced by the well-known Ashby’s law, may be reconsidered: only simple organization provides enough space for individual agency to match environmental turbulence in the form of complex organizational responses. We suggest that complex organizing may be paradoxically facilitated by a simple infrastructure, and that the theory of organizations may be viewed as resulting from the dialectical interplay between simplicity and complexity.     

真 实 与 间 离——《追忆似水年华》内在性研究

马塞尔.普鲁斯特的意识流小说《追忆似水年华》,从充满主体色彩的回忆出发,重新建构了一个与现实世界呈现明显间离色彩的＂马塞尔的世界＂。在后者的世界中,叙述者却再三申明自己所表现的乃是真实的生活本质。这种从内在出发,对生活本质所进行的重估,宣示了意识流小说作为一种新的小说体式对于唯一、超验之＂理式＂的反叛。这一反叛绝不仅是马塞尔梦幻般的私语,更体现了整个时代的精神诉求。

吴翔宇《鲁迅时间意识的文学建构与嬗变》一书,在鲁迅研究中独辟蹊径,从时间角度考察鲁迅文学创作的本质,探究其时间意识的文学建构,揭示其时间意识的本质内涵,阐显其时间意识的现实意义,具有突出的学术价值。     

谱检验的Wild Bootstrap方法

 本文考察了基于谱估计的拟合优度检验在判断时间序列鞅差性质方面的应用，提出了利用Wild Bootstrap来近似该类检验统计量渐近分布的方法，通过模拟试验揭示出新的方法改进了检验的水平并提高了其功效，最后比较了不同方法在分析实际金融数据时的不同效果。     

A robust regression model for a first-order autoregressive time series with unequal spacing: application to water monitoring

Summary.  Time series arise often in environmental monitoring settings, which typically involve measuring processes repeatedly over time. In many such applications, observations are irregularly spaced and, additionally, are not distributed normally. An example is water monitoring data collected in Boston Harbor by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. We describe a simple robust approach for estimating regression parameters and a first-order autocorrelation parameter in a time series where the observations are irregularly spaced. Estimates are obtained from an estimating equation that is constructed as a linear combination of estimated innovation errors, suitably made robust by symmetric and possibly bounded functions. Under an assumption of data missing completely at random and mild regularity conditions, the proposed estimating equation yields consistent and asymptotically normal estimates. Simulations suggest that our estimator performs well in moderate sample sizes. We demonstrate our method on Secchi depth data collected from Boston Harbor.
