知识分子如何启蒙?——《阿Q正传》再解读

长期以来,国内学术界总是把阿Q与"国民性"联系起来进行解读,《阿Q正传》也被认为是鲁迅批判国民性的集大成之作。尽管小说确实有批判国民性的一面,但是,对这一方面的过度强调,使我们仅仅关注于阿Q行状的国民性,而遮蔽掉了小说序言中的某些重要信息。鲁迅批判的对象并不仅仅只是阿Q这样的愚昧民众,他同时也指向了那些掌握着话语权的新旧知识分子。通过序言及小说中对赵秀才、钱假洋鬼子的书写,从而把虚构的小说与现实的生活联系了起来,促使读者去重新反思知识分子存在的价值和意义。

马福祥（1876-1932）,字云亭,回族,甘肃临夏人,与其侄马鸿宾、子马鸿逵执政宁夏长达37年之久,先后出任宁夏护军使、绥远都统、西北边防会边、航空督办、国民党军事委员会委员、故宫博物院理事、青岛特别市市长、安徽省主席、蒙藏委员会委员长等要职,曾得到西北回族军人拥戴,以西北回民领袖身份自居。马福祥一生饱读经书,崇尚儒家文化,同时非常关心回族文化教育事业,为消除清代在回汉民族间造成的创伤及隔阂,提倡回儒对话,成绩显著,成为现代社会著名回族人物。     

If it’s so good,why not make them do it? Why true dialogue cannot be mandated

True dialogue—as opposed to two-way communication—is a very specific and inescapably principled form of communication with benefits for all participants. This paper asks whether, given its highly-desirable form and function, governments could use legislation to require organizations to conduct true dialogue. An analysis of practitioner insights, however, shows the nature of the relationship between organisations and their stakeholders, and their perspectives on each other and the communication between them, preclude the conduct of true dialogue. The empirical data from this study allow the identification and articulation of these barriers to dialogue, moving the field of dialogue studies in public relations on from the assertion that true dialogue is hard to find in practice. This research allows practitioners and scholars alike to say why true dialogue does not happen. Because of this, it is possible to start developing strategies for dealing with—and perhaps overcoming—the barriers.

Bayesian Interval Estimation for the Difference in TPRs and FPRs of Two Diagnostic Tests with Unverified Negatives

We derive Bayesian interval estimators for the differences in the true positive rates and false positive rates of two dichotomous diagnostic tests applied to the members of two distinct populations. The populations have varying disease prevalences with unverified negatives. We compare the performance of the Bayesian credible interval to the Wald interval using Monte Carlo simulation for a spectrum of different TPRs, FPRs, and sample sizes. For the case of a low TPR and low FPR, we found that a Bayesian credible interval with relatively noninformative priors performed well. We obtain similar interval comparison results for the cases of a high TPR and high FPR, a high TPR and low FPR, and of a high TPR and mixed FPR after incorporating mildly informative priors.     

Stratified Double Sampling with Continuous Outcomes: Design and Analysis

We provide a method for estimating the sample mean of a continuous outcome in a stratified population using a double sampling scheme. The stratified sample mean is a weighted average of stratum specific means. It is assumed that the fallible and true outcome data are related by a simple linear regression model in each stratum. The optimal stratified double sampling plan, i.e. , the double sampling plan that minimizes the cost of sampling for fixed variances, or alternatively, minimizes the variance for fixed costs, is found and compared to a standard sampling plan. The design parameters are the total sample size and the number of doubly sampled units in each stratum. We show that the optimal double sampling plan is a function of the between-strata and within-strata cost and variance ratios. The efficiency gains, relative to standard sampling plans, under broad set of conditions, are considerable.
