高等医学院校成人教育大学英语教学改革探析

当前医学院校成人教育大学英语教学实践存在许多问题,并直接影响大学英语教学质量乃至整个医学成人教育质量。从揭示医学成人教育教学对象的特殊性,分析医学成人大学英语教学实践中存在的主要问题,以及提出医学成人大学英语教学改革重要措施等三大方面对医学院校成人大学英语教学改革进行探析,以提高医学院校成人大学英语教学质量。     

Truth® ads,receptivity, and motivation to use or quit tobacco among college students

Abstract

Objective: Examine receptivity and motivation to use/quit tobacco among college students after viewing Truth ads. Participants: Random sample of 10,000 college students invited to complete online survey February 2016 (8.5% response rate). Methods: Quasi-experimental. Participants (N?=?854) watched four ads and answered survey items for each ad. Results: Students rated ad receptivity and decreased motivation to use tobacco higher for the Catmageddon ad than the others. Regardless of ad, men and current cigarette smokers reported lower receptivity. Younger age was associated with lower motivation to use tobacco for all ads. Tobacco users reported greater motivation to quit with the Catmageddon ad. Conclusions: College students were receptive to the Truth ads, and many indicated lower motivation to use tobacco. Men, older college students, and current cigarette smokers were less receptive to the ads, reinforcing the need to develop tailored campaigns to reach these subgroups.     

Precarious belonging: blindness,masculinity, and work in Polish young adult literature of the 1970s and 1980s

ABSTRACT

This article explores the relationship between disability, identity, and productivity in two Polish young adult novels published under state socialism: Jak trudno kocha? (How difficult it is to love) and Spotkania (The meetings). How Difficult it is to Love by Jerzy Szczygie? (1976) tells the story of a young blind man who, after living many years “unproductively” with his mother, decides to study and work. Published in 1986, Klementyna So?onowicz-Olbrychska’s novel The Meetings also focuses on a blind male teenager who leaves his hometown to live with other blind students at a residential school where he plans a future profession. The two works are concerned with the processes of becoming disabled and becoming a part of the blind community. Crucially, it is productivity – the main value in a socialist state – that participates in the formation of disability identity and enables disabled men to form separate communities and workshops for disabled people.     

终身教育下成人教育转型动力研究

终身教育与学习型社会是当今时代对教育事业的两个基本要求，成人教育作为二者实施与构建的主体实现方式地位突出。“学习、开放、多元、终身、全民”型结构是成人教育转型之道，让学习成为一种习惯，成为引领成人教育转型动力，以适应终身教育有序发展。     

The intergenerational transmission of income mobility between mothers and their young adult daughters: The mediating role of their daughters' educational attainment

This study examines whether the daughters' educational attainment mediates the intergenerational transmission of economic mobility between mothers and their young adult daughters. To create mother–daughter dyads, two data sets were combined: The National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 (NLSY79) and the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 79 for Children and Young Adults (NLSY79 CY). A total of 2,456 dyads were included for analysis. We used a mediation model to explore the relationship between mothers' income and their young adult daughters' income. Mothers' income was associated with their young adult daughters' educational attainment and income. The mediation model indicated partial mediation of the relationship between mothers' income and their young adult daughters' income via their young adult daughters' educational attainment. Addressing issues of income inequality among mothers may serve as a buffer against the low upward mobility across generations for their young adult daughters raised by low-income mothers. It is imperative to provide programs and financial assistance for mothers to bolster their income and thereby their daughters' educational attainment and income in young adulthood and therefore improve economic mobility from mothers to daughters.     

Research on Divorce: Continuing Trends and New Developments

Research on divorce during the past decade has focused on a range of topics, including the predictors of divorce, associations between divorce and the well‐being of children and former spouses, and interventions for divorcing couples. Methodological advances during the past decade include a greater reliance on nationally representative longitudinal samples, genetically informed designs, and statistical models that control for time‐invariant sources of unobserved heterogeneity. Emerging perspectives, such as a focus on the number of family transitions rather than on divorce as a single event, are promising. Nevertheless, gaps remain in the research literature, and the review concludes with suggestions for new studies.     

利用网络资源培养成人英语自主学习能力

随着计算机辅助语言学习--CALL(computer-assisted language learning)和基于网络的外语教学--NBLT(network-based language teaching)理论的发展,如何利用多媒体网络技术来改革传统的英语教学模式,培养学生的自主学习能力成为新世纪大学英语教学改革的根本任务之一.文章从目前我国成人英语学习的现状和所存在的问题出发,依据建构主义学习理论,探讨如何利用网络技术和资源的优势来培养成人英语学习者的自主学习能力.     

成人高等教育概念的诠释

文章从方法论的角度对国内四种有代表性的成人高等教育概念表述进行了分析,认为成人高等教育是指对符合规定标准的在业或非在业成年人实施的属于高等教育水平的教育,它具有对象的成人性和性质的高等性两大本质属性,其外延可分别从办学渠道、教育对象、层次规格和办学形式等不同角度进行划分。在此基础上,文章还对与成人高等教育相似相近的几个概念进行了辨析,阐明了成人高等教育与终身教育是被包含关系,与继续教育是包含关系,而与高等职业教育是交叉关系。     

21世纪中国成人高等教育发展探索

我国的高等教育,在新旧世纪交替之际的短短几年内,就成功地实现了大众化的历史性跨越发展,成人高等教育扮演着相当重要的角色。展望21世纪,成人高等教育依然是充分实现我国高等教育大众化的主要途径、特别是实现终身发展战略的最重要途径、更能直接服务于经济建设;我国的成人高等教育更需要突出服务意识、加快国际化进程、发挥网络教学优势;以全面实现成人高等教育的现代化,为我国高等教育从大众化向普及化方向的迈进做出新贡献。
