Tables of coefficients for the best linear unbiased estimators (BLUEs) of µ and α are presented for various choices of censoring and sample sizes n = 2(1)15(5)30; variances and covariance of these estimators are also presented. Spatiotemporal prediction is of interest in many areas of applied statistics, especially in environmental monitoring with on-line data information. At first, this article reviews the approaches for spatiotemporal modeling in the context of stochastic processes and then introduces the new class of spatiotemporal dynamic linear models. Further, the methods for linear spatial data analysis, universal kriging and trend surface prediction, are related to the method of spatial linear Bayesian analysis. The Kalman filter is the preferred method for temporal linear Bayesian inferences. By combining the Kalman filter recursions with the trend surface predictor and universal kriging predictor, the prior and posterior spatiotemporal predictors for the observational process are derived, which form the main result of this article. The problem of spatiotemporal linear prediction in the case of unknown first and second order moments is treated as well.  相似文献

The problem of simultaneous estimation of location parameters of two independent exponential distributions is considered when location and/or scale parameters are ordered. We show that the standard estimators in the unrestricted case which use information only from the populations individually can be improved upon when various order restrictions are known to hold. Abstract

An annual column published in Library Journal reviews the best new magazines of the previous year. Despite being chosen for their quality, a portion of them fail at a rate described in this study. Reasons for failure and characteristics of ceased titles are described, as are difficulties in determining end dates from records in OCLC, Ulrich's, and the Serials Directory. This study reveals that OCLC records had not been closed for 30 percent of the ceased periodicals. A list of successful and widely held “best of” magazines is appended.  相似文献
