英语专业语言学课堂教学刍议

高校英语本科专业课程分为三个模块:技能模块、知识模块和相关知识模块。语言学课程是英语专业知识模块中的一门重要课程。长期以来,外语教学研究主要集中在技能模块中的听、说、读、写上,而对知识模块中的语言学课程教学的研究和讨论相对不足。本文结合教学实践,分析和讨论了目前高校语言学课程课堂教学中存在的一些问题及其成因,并就改进语言学课程课堂教学的方法,提高语言学课程课堂教学的效果和质量提出了看法和建议。

A two-stage estimation for panel data models with grouped fixed effects

ABSTRACT

This paper considers panel data models with fixed effects which have grouped patterns with unknown group membership. A two-stage estimation (TSE) procedure is developed to improve the properties of the GFE estimators of common parameters when the time span is small. Firstly, the common parameters are estimated. Subsequently, the optimal group assignment and the estimators of group effects are obtained by the K-means algorithm. Monte Carlo results reveal that the TSE estimator has a much smaller bias than the GFE estimator when the values of difference between effects are moderately small or at high variance of the idiosyncratic error.     

Minimum average partial correlation and parallel analysis: The influence of oblique structures

ABSTRACT

Parallel analysis (Horn 1965) and the minimum average partial correlation (MAP; Velicer 1976) have been widely spread as optimal solutions to identify the correct number of axes in principal component analysis. Previous results showed, however, that they become inefficient when variables belonging to different components strongly correlate. Simulations are used to assess their power to detect the dimensionality of data sets with oblique structures. Overall, MAP had the best performances as it was more powerful and accurate than PA when the component structure was modestly oblique. However, both stopping rules performed poorly in the presence of highly oblique factors.     

Sample size determination of steel's nonparametric many-one test

We derive sample size formulas for the many-one test of Steel (1959) when the all-pairs power is preassigned. In this large sample approach we replace, similar to Noether (1987), the unknown variances and also the unknown correlation coefficients in the power expressions by their known values under the null hypotheses. We then obtain least favorable configurations for one-and two-sided comparisons. The reliability of our formulas is examined in computer simulations for different alternatives with various distributions.     

Confidence Intervals for Reliability of Stress-Strength Models in the Normal Case

In this article, we propose some procedures to get confidence intervals for the reliability in stress-strength models. The confidence intervals are obtained either through a parametric bootstrap procedure or using asymptotic results, and are applied to the particular context of two independent normal random variables. The performance of these estimators and other known approximate estimators are empirically checked through a simulation study which considers several scenarios.     

高校思政课智慧课堂教学冷思考

随着现代教育信息技术的发展,智慧课堂在中国"异军突起"。然而,高校的思政课智慧课堂教学并没有取得预期效果。究其原因,首先与思政课的课程性质有关。思政课的使命在于培育正确"三观",而基于对错判断的大数据智慧教学平台,很难真实记录学生的思想,更难去分类评价和准确把握学生的思想。其次,智慧课堂要求精细化管理,以学生内生驱动性学习为基础,现有的中班及大班思政课教学,以及中西方学生学习习惯的差异,注定了当下的思政课智慧课堂教学存在不少障碍。尽管思政课智慧课堂教学存在种种困难,但其以学生为中心的理念,通过讨论促进知识内化和价值生成的教学方式,仍然值得思政课教学改革借鉴。     

外语课堂话语的多维视角分析

文章从交际民俗学、会话分析、系统功能语法三个视角对外语课堂话语进行了描述和解释,揭示了外语课堂话语的特点。交际民俗学的研究分析参与者的实际会话要求,会话发生的情景信息以及参与者的感觉与理解。另外,它也关心对“语用”的感觉与理解,关注语用的社会事件对知识与个人关系、对社会异同的构建以及对学术方法互动的进展等所起的作用。会话分析一反传统的静态研究方法,将动态的会话分析理论引进课堂话语的分析,除了分析话语的序列结构,还考虑话语的语境因素和社会文化因素对意义的理解。系统功能学从功能的角度对课堂话语中的语码转换,人际意义及语篇的连贯等方面进行更深刻的研究。     

高校课堂教学质量评价探索

课堂教学是高校教学中的中心环节,课堂教学质量直接影响高校的教学质量,亦影响社会对高校的评价。探寻、评价、监察、导引、激励是课堂教学质量评价的价值意蕴;公平合理、事前控制、激励改进是其基本原则;定量与定性、学生与专家、校内与校外、教学部门与职能部门相结合是重要途径。
