从社会语言学角度看武汉方言说唱乐的诞生及其语言特点

武汉方言说唱乐是说唱乐这种音乐形式和本土方言相结合而产生的新生事物,武汉方言本身的特点赋予其歌词特殊的节奏性、新颖性、流行性和创造性。本文尝试通过语篇体裁理论和语域理论来分析武汉方言说唱乐的产生和发展。

现代汉语"名1 (的) 名2"定中结构的隐喻具有创造性,表现在从不同的事物中发现共同的东西、从整体上把握事物的特征并确立符号与事物之间的现实的联系及跨越时空等的限制等。"名1 (的) 名2"定中结构隐喻的运作机制主要有概念范畴之间的映射和语义泛化。     

林语堂传记创作的现代性诉求

以小品散文、长篇小说写作著称的林语堂同时也是一位成绩斐然的传记文学作家。特别是在海外期间,林语堂用英文创作《苏东坡传》、《武则天传》两大历史传记,引起了海外读者的强烈反响。本文结合林语堂各个时期在传记方面的所为,并以海外时期传记创作为主体评述内容,试对他的传记创作思想进行总体归纳与评价。认为林语堂在追求传记文体形式、笔调改革以及人格意识三方面取得了突出的成就,具有鲜明的现代性取向。     

跨文化的眼光和视野——厄尔·迈纳的《比较诗学》

比较诗学理所当然是一门内容广博的学科。对这门学科研究的任何努力都免不了要求研究者能够对众多方面作出高深的阐释。本文评论的是比较诗学所阐释的两点：即作者对令人满意的概念和实实在在的比较与以建立在详实史料基础上的诗学（ 文学理论） 。文章所遵循的先后次序，是根据三种文类从概念上和历史发展上可以推导出的结论     

The Surrogate Henderson Filters in X-11

This paper explains the surrogate Henderson filters that are used in the X-11 variant of the Census Method II seasonal adjustment program to obtain trends at the ends of time series. It describes a prediction interpretation for these surrogate filters, justifies an approximation to the filters, proposed by Kenny & Durbin (1982), and proposes a further interpretation of the results. The starting point for the paper is unpublished work by Musgrave (1964a, 1964b). His work has continuing relevance to current seasonal adjustment practice. This paper makes that work generally available for the first time, and reviews and extends it.     

From chavela to frida: loving from the margins

This article analyzes the portrayal of lesbian desire in the case of two of the most renowned icons of contemporary Mexican and Latino popular culture: singer Chavela Vargas (1919-2012) and painter Frida Kahlo (1910-1954). This article explores the intertextual dialogue between two texts that deal with the construction of Kahlo's persona and sexuality: Chavela's memoir, titled Y si quieres saber de mi pasado (2002), and the film Frida (2001), directed by Julie Taymor. Fundamental to this study is Chavela Vargas' lesbian subject position in both texts and the consequences and implications her location has in representing lesbian homoerotics and desire.     

Reconceptualizing and expanding the positive feedback network effects model: A case study

During the 1980s, economists developed the concept of positive network effects and switching costs as the key dynamics of de facto standards competition. They concluded that a positive feedback loop usually “tips” a market to the standard with the most users and complementary assets. While recent scholars have acknowledged that not all markets tip, and suggested some possible limitations on this phenomena, these limitations have not been integrated systematically into a model for competition in these industries. Using examples drawn from the standards contests of the past 20 years, this case study develops an integrated model for competition in these industries.     

Empirical Bayes vs. fully Bayes variable selection

For the problem of variable selection for the normal linear model, fixed penalty selection criteria such as AIC, _Cp${\mathrm{C}}_p$, BIC and RIC correspond to the posterior modes of a hierarchical Bayes model for various fixed hyperparameter settings. Adaptive selection criteria obtained by empirical Bayes estimation of the hyperparameters have been shown by George and Foster [2000. Calibration and Empirical Bayes variable selection. Biometrika 87(4), 731–747] to improve on these fixed selection criteria. In this paper, we study the potential of alternative fully Bayes methods, which instead margin out the hyperparameters with respect to prior distributions. Several structured prior formulations are considered for which fully Bayes selection and estimation methods are obtained. Analytical and simulation comparisons with empirical Bayes counterparts are studied.

Expanding economic protection to the elderly in Latin America

This article addresses the reforms introduced in Latin American pension systems that had the aim of increasing coverage beyond formal‐sector workers. For this purpose, fourteen representative regional experiences are analysed using a taxonomy based on features of the cases examined in terms of design, implementation and results. The findings show that, although the reforms share the goal of expanding coverage, there are significant differences deriving from the context in which they were originally designed, their goals, and the capacity available to implement them. The results are not homogeneous, and it is possible to identify some aspects in which policy decisions can lead to better or worse results.
