Stakeholder perceptions of contextual factors related to PBIS implementation in high need schools

Positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS) is a thoroughly researched three-tiered framework for preventing and treating challenging behavior in schools. While more than 20 years of research contribute to the literature base, less is known about PBIS implementation in high-needs school settings, particularly those that serve students predominantly from low-income families and majority minority student populations across urban and rural districts. This study investigated the critical contextual factors of PBIS implementation from the stakeholder perspective. Specifically, we surveyed 161 participants including teachers, school staff members, and administrators who were PBIS team members and had received technical assistance in PBIS implementation. The completed surveys were analyzed with participants and their schools coded for district type, Title I funding, and position in order to determine how the perceptions of issues such as buy-in, administrator support, PBIS in secondary school settings, and poverty affect PBIS implementation and team needs. The factor analysis and resulting structure along with statistically significant results for each factor are presented along with implications.     

美丽乡村建设中图书馆总分馆发展策略探析

在河北省委十八届十二次全会上提出了建设经济强省、美丽河北的号召。美丽乡村建设是其中的重要环节。在乡村文化建设中,图书馆能够起到助力当地公共文化服务的完善、消除城乡数字鸿沟、保存地域文化遗产的作用。而目前河北省总分馆的发展及各类乡村阅服务机构的兴起为乡村图书馆纳入总分馆体系奠定了基础。因此可以从坚持政府主导、吸引民间公益力量、建立紧密型总分馆、选择合适的总馆、提高管理人员素质五个方面努力。     

Evaluating the engagement of universities in capacity building for sustainable development in local communities

Universities have the potential to play a leading role in enabling communities to develop more sustainable ways of living and working however, sustainable communities may only emerge with facilitation, community learning and continual efforts to build their capacities. Elements of programme planning and evaluation on the one hand, and capacity building on the other, are needed. The latter entails approaches and processes that may contribute to community empowerment; universities may either lead such approaches, or be key partners in an endeavour to empower communities to address the challenges posed by the need for sustainable development. Although capacity building and the promotion of sustainable development locally, are on the agenda for universities who take seriously regional engagement, very little is published that illustrates or describes the various forms of activities that take place. Further, there is a paucity of studies that have evaluated the work performed by universities in building capacity for sustainable development at the local level. This paper is an attempt to address this need, and entails an empirical study based on a sample of universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal and Brazil. The paper examines the extent to which capacity building for sustainable development is being undertaken, suggests the forms that this might take and evaluates some of the benefits for local communities. The paper concludes by reinforcing that universities have a critical role to play in community development; that role has to prioritise the sustainability agenda.

加快工程实践基地建设培养新世纪高素质人才

文章提出合肥工业大学工业培训中心的办学理念,介绍了软硬件及师资队伍建设的方案,阐述了以现代大工程为背景进行的教学内容、教学方法和教学手段的改革,以培养学生成为具备工程意识、责任感和创新思维的新世纪高素质人才.     

信息化视阈下海外学生党建工作的现状与创新模式研究 ——以南京邮电大学海外教育学院为例

随着我国各种形式的中外合作办学项目的数量和规模不断扩大,海外学生党员的比例也越来越大。规范化、科学化地做好海外学生党员和入党积极分子的教育和管理工作已是当前和今后高校基层党建工作的重要内容。通过规范海外学生党组织建设,以"网络党建"为平台,开拓海外学生党建工作新模式,从而增强海外学生的向心力和凝聚力。     

工会推进产业工人队伍建设的探索研究

产业工人是工人阶级的主体,在国民经济发展建设中发挥支撑作用。工会作为代表广大工人阶级利益的群众组织,在推进产业工人队伍建设改革中肩负着不可推卸的责任和重担。在目前新形势和时代变革下,我国产业工人队伍建设的现状还不能很好地适应经济转型中出现的新情况和新问题。对工会推进产业工人队伍建设的情况进行研究,在借鉴制造业强国经验的基础上,从思想政治引领、搭建发展平台、打造能力提升工程、利用“互联网+”和完善保障体系五个方面进行探索建设,从而为工会组织持续打造高素质产业工人队伍工作提供政策借鉴。     

大学生学科文化自信培育的价值逻辑及路径探析 ——以河北工程大学地球科学与工程学院为例

学科文化是学科的灵魂,是学科不断发展创新的精神源泉和内在动力。学科文化自信是文化自信的重要组成部分,培育大学生文化自信应着眼全局,整体推进。学科文化自信与文化自信具有统一性,与核心价值观培育具有同构性,与担当民族复兴大任具有生成性。培育大学生学科文化自信,要深入挖掘和整合学科文化内涵,不断创新和发展培育手段,最终达到浸润和形塑博学自信的新时代大学生的目标。学科文化自信的培育可以达到激发学生学术热情,促进学生和学科全面发展,弘扬社会主义核心价值观,坚定理想信念以及践行使命担当的效用。     

Parental stress and parenting in Chinese immigrant families: The mediating role of social support

As the population of Chinese immigrants has been growing rapidly in the United States, it has been understudied on the parenting behaviours as well as the roles parental stress and social support playing in parenting in this group. This study investigated whether parental stress was associated with parenting and whether this relationship was mediated by social support in a sample of 255 Chinese immigrant parents from the Survey of Asian American Families in New York City. Regression analyses with a rich array of control variables found that a higher level of parental stress and the presence of one or more stressors such as unemployment, low income, and low education were positively associated with the use of harsh discipline and parent–child conflicts and negatively associated with positive parenting practices. Social support functioned as a significant mediator in the relationships between parental stress and positive parenting practices but not in the relationships of parental stress with parent–child conflict or the use of harsh discipline.
