不同类型高校教师信念比较研究——以福建省高校为例

教师信念是教师在教学情境与教学历程中,对知识、教学、学生学习以及师生关系等相关方面所持的主体性认识和观点。通过对福建省不同类型高校教师的问卷调查,并运用描述统计、相关分析和单变量多因素方差分析等方法对不同类型高校教师的信念类型与取向的差异进行分析,结果显示:"学生中心"取向的多元信念系统是不同类型高校教师信念的总体特点。在不同类型高校教师中主要存在五种类型的信念:知识型、结果型、能力型、兴趣型和价值型。不同类型高校教师最强调以能力为导向的信念,能力型、兴趣型以及价值型信念的均分都高于知识型和结果型,说明不同类型高校教师都偏向"学生中心"的教学取向。但不同类型高校教师信念中,知识型、结果型和兴趣型存在显著差异。高职院校教师更强调对学生学习兴趣的关注,而教学型大学教师仍然十分重视学生对知识的掌握以及最后能否"学有所成"。

当代大学生对其成长成才存在着迷茫与困惑,"中国梦"可促使大学生确立理想信念、明确历史使命、重塑价值观念、拓宽发展空间。高校可通过以下途径以"中国梦"助推大学生健康成长、成才:开展理想教育,以"强国梦"鼓舞大学生坚定信念;实施责任教育,以"复兴梦"激励大学生勇担重任;推动榜样教育,以"幸福梦"感染大学生见贤思齐;加强实践教育,以"创新梦"激励大学生立志躬行;倡导自我教育,以"和谐梦"引导大学生慎独自律。

The Relative Weights of Direct and Indirect Experiences in the Formation of Environmental Risk Beliefs

Direct experiences, we find, influence environmental risk beliefs more than the indirect experiences derived from outcomes to others. This disparity could have a rational basis. Or it could be based on behavioral proclivities in accord with the well‐established availability heuristic or the vested‐interest heuristic, which we introduce in this article. Using original data from a large, nationally representative sample, this article examines the perception of, and responses to, morbidity risks from tap water. Direct experiences have a stronger and more consistent effect on different measures of risk belief. Direct experiences also boost the precautionary response of drinking bottled water and drinking filtered water, while indirect experiences do not. These results are consistent with the hypothesized neglect of indirect experiences in other risk contexts, such as climate change.     

Hospice and Latinos

Abstract

Research on hospice use by Latinos, although increasing since the late 1990s, remains sparse. This article presents a review of the recent available literature on this topic within the past 15 years. The main aspects discussed are access to hospice care and various factors that researchers suggest affect Latino utilization of hospice care. These factors include beliefs about health care, death and end-of-life care, lack of insurance, lower referral rates by health care professionals and the hospice caregiver requirement. Overall, Latinos underutilize hospice but the reasons remain unclear. No evidence exists to indicate that Latinos are dissatisfied with services once they receive them. Also, no evidence exists to indicate they want services but cannot obtain them. Implications for social work practice and research are discussed.     

Normative Beliefs as Risk Factors for Involvement in Unhealthy Weight Control Behavior

Objective: The authors' aim in this study was to determine, after adjustment for the effects of body mass index and sociodemographic measures, whether sex-specific weight control norms would have significant independent relationships with the weight control behavior of college women and men. Participants: The authors used an anonymous questionnaire to assess a sample of 470 college students, aged 18 to 26 years, attending either a 2- year community college or a 4-year public university. Methods: To calculate body mass index, the authors objectively measured the height and weight of each participant. They conducted separate discriminant function analyses for women and men. Results: The discriminant function analyses clearly indicated that weight control norms of same-sex, close friends were the best discriminators of involvement in weight control. Conclusions: The findings indicate that perceived peer norms may be important but overlooked risk factors for engaging in unhealthy weight control practices. The authors discuss the implications of these findings in the context of student health promotion.

Latent classes and group membership

A technique for analyzing group membership data, such as interlocking directorates, based on the assumption of latent classes of individuals, is described and illustrated with two data sets. The technique partitions individuals and/or groups into homogeneous sets and can be used to create measures of structural centrality for groups and for individuals.
