Grandparental Involvement and South African Adolescents’ Psychological Well-Being

This study was designed to explore the grandparent-grandchild relationship from the perspective of South African adolescents, and to investigate whether grandparental involvement is independently associated with adolescents’ psychological well-being. Data were collected from 204 adolescents (mean age = 13.69) using a school-based survey. Results revealed high levels of contact between grandparents and grandchildren, although involvement varied depending on grandparent, grandchild, and family characteristics. Grandparental involvement was significantly associated with more adolescent prosocial behavior, independent of parental involvement. The findings suggest a unique association between grandparental involvement and prosocial behavior that is robust across different cultural contexts.

Social and behavioral skills and the gender gap in early educational achievement

Though many studies have suggested that social and behavioral skills play a central role in gender stratification processes, we know little about the extent to which these skills affect gender gaps in academic achievement. Analyzing data from the Early Child Longitudinal Study-Kindergarten Cohort, we demonstrate that social and behavioral skills have substantively important effects on academic outcomes from kindergarten through fifth grade. Gender differences in the acquisition of these skills, moreover, explain a considerable fraction of the gender gap in academic outcomes during early elementary school. Boys get roughly the same academic return to social and behavioral skills as their female peers, but girls begin school with more advanced social and behavioral skills and their skill advantage grows over time. While part of the effect may reflect an evaluation process that rewards students who better conform to school norms, our results imply that the acquisition of social and behavioral skills enhances learning as well. Our results call for a reconsideration of the family and school-level processes that produce gender gaps in social and behavioral skills and the advantages they confer for academic and later success.

工作搜索行为是个体付出努力和时间,获取潜在的工作信息的有目的的意志性行为模式.关于工作搜索行为的结构有成分说、阶段说和维度说.影响工作搜索行为的因素主要有个体的自尊、自我效能感、工作搜索动机以及人格特质等,而个体的工作搜索行为又会影响到个体的就业情况和就业质量.未来的研究可以从以下方面做出努力:对不同的亚群体分别进行具体研究;使多种研究方法相互交叉来补充以往研究的不足;进一步拓展研究领域、发展工作搜索行为的理论以及建构完整的模型;在应用领域中进一步研究工作搜索行为的干预与培训措施的有效性.

本文认为在"化"尾动词构成的致使语态句中,"化"尾动词具有"使……变化"和状态间临界点转变的语法特点,它同时具有致使词功能和致使状态意义。"化"尾动词联系着致使原因和致使对象,共同完成句式的致使意义实现。通过句式比较分析了"化"尾动词构成的致使语态句的语用价值。     

消费者展厅行为和参考质量效应对O2O供应链动态运营策略的影响

本文研究消费者展厅行为和参考质量效应对O2O供应链动态运营策略的影响问题。分析了集中决策、分散决策和制造商分担实体店服务成本决策3种模式下的制造商产品质量策略、实体店和电商平台的服务竞争策略,以及品牌商誉变化和企业利润等问题。并进行了价格、实体店访问比例和展厅行为强度对企业绩效的影响。研究发现：展厅行为会挫伤实体店提供服务的积极性,降低品牌商誉,从而损害制造商和实体店的利润水平;而消费者的这种搭便车行为会提高电商平台利润,但由于参考质量效应的存在,其提升空间有限。综合而言,展厅行为对供应链总体绩效不利。应对展厅行为的长期战略有：1)加强上下游的纵向合作,制造商分担实体店服务成本契约,能实现供应链总体绩效的帕累托改进。2)从受展厅行为影响最大的实体店角度,保持线下产品高定价、高服务水平,提升消费者支付意愿,全面提升实体店的品牌溢价能力,获取长久生存之道。

本文试图通过分析作家在<到灯塔去>中意识流创作手法的及小说的诗化手法与绘画手法的成功运用,从而揭示使得这部小说在意识流小说衰落以后,仍然能在文坛上绽放光芒的原因.

考察《三国演义》小字注的来源及其功能,认定小字注虽非一人一时所加,但小字注极有可能在罗贯中原本中便已存在。通过一条带有时代标记的小字注,初步分析《三国演义》成书于明代的可能性极小。     

Economic Strain and Children's Behavior in the Aftermath of the Great Recession

Families across the income spectrum experienced subjective feelings of economic strain during the Great Recession. Existing evidence suggests that much of that economic strain did not arise from individual‐specific economic shocks, such as unemployment or income loss, as much as it did from worry and uncertainty about the future. The authors tested a model in which a measure of subjective perceptions of economic strain was the key predictor of children's behavior problems and objective indicators of economic experiences were treated as control variables. To do so, they used new data from a population‐based sample of children ages 4–17 (N = 303) living in southeast Michigan during the period 2009–2012. They found that economic strain exhibited a qualitatively large independent association with internalizing behavior problems for White—but not Black—children. This association was statistically significant over and above objective indicators of economic experiences and the family psychosocial context.
