Future life planning is a growing concern among families with children with disabilities. This article presents a needs assessment evaluating feasibility of a new model for future life planning for family caregivers, Lifetime Assistance, which will provide ongoing planning and monitoring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Using surveys informed by a series of focus groups, data were gathered from older and younger parents in one midwestern state regarding the potential program. Study results indicate that respondents did not feel the current system of support was adequate for planning for their child's future, nor sufficient for monitoring the quality of life for their children in the future. Although almost all families had identified a person to support their family members when they were no longer able to do so, parental caregivers overwhelmingly identified the need for the Lifetime Assistance program and many were willing to pay for this service themselves. 相似文献

A qualitative case study of two urban neighborhood-planning processes contributes to knowledge regarding citizen participation in the context of public housing redevelopment. The data were collected and triangulated from multiple sources including participant observation, field notes, artifacts, and 24 hours of semistructured interview data (n = 26). Data provided context for understanding engaged residents’ and professionals’ experience of participation in a Resident Advisory Council (RAC) and influence during neighborhood redevelopment planning. Study participants reported the benefits of inclusion in the RAC community planning process including: (a) being engaged by attending meetings and dialoging, (b) maintaining and building relationships, and (c) maintaining organizing pressure and fighting back. 相似文献

This article presents an overview of how social work leadership skills can assist field coordinators to implement the signature pedagogy in their schools. Although this call has been made before, no other article has described specific planning steps to implement this initiative. This work fills a distinct void in the literature about this subject. The main assumptions are that (1) schools must adopt and clearly operationalize field education as their signature pedagogy and (2) field coordinators need to lead this initiative. We provide field coordinators and schools with recommendations about how to lead this important and necessary organizational paradigm shift. The article addresses social work leadership, developing a more field-centric curriculum to operationalize the signature pedagogy, shaping a school’s culture to embrace this important and required initiative, and offers suggestions to proactively plan this process. 相似文献

ABSTRACT The article details the creation, development and organization of a public adoption education agency. Founded in 1986, Adoption Option, Inc. has become a catalyst for a broad array of adoption education activities in Southwestern Ohio. These activities center around a three-step education initiative which targets three groups: (1) people who have direct contact, and a counseling role, with pregnant women/teenagers and their partners and families; (2) adolescents who are being schooled in family life, sexuality and health programs; and (3) the general public. The three program areas for carrying our the agency's mission are: (1) a training program for individuals who counsel and assist women and teens with unplanned pregnancies which provides factual information about adoption and how to present it in a non-directive way; (2) educational programs to put adoption into school-based health curricula aimed at students ages 12-18; (3) a media initiative to convey accurate information about adoption. The agency and its successful programs can be replicated by individuals who are interested in making their communities more adoption-literate and adoption friendly. 相似文献

随着《中华人民共和国环境影响评价法》的颁布和施行,我国规划环评作为一种战略环评得到了法律的支撑。在此历史背景下,湖南省的规划环评工作也正式启动,并成为“绿色湖南”建设的一个重要组成分。规划环评对优化被评价的规划已初显积极作用,这些规划大多考虑到了对生态环境的影响。但是,规划环评的范围还有待拓展,规划环评的质量还有待进一步提升。要实现建设“绿色湖南”的目标,在制定湖南经济社会发展的下一个五年规划时,必须将包括规划环评在内的战略环评作为一项重要的环保政策确立起来,并将之置于法治理念的引导下;同时,在开展规划环评的过程中,有关部门要更加自觉地贯彻其对于规划制定的“早期介入”原则,强化其对于规划制定的“过程控制”,使规划在政府规划决策过程中发挥切实有效的作用。 相似文献

英国自然风景园传入欧洲大陆后,人们对风景园的认识不再单单是对如画风景的欣赏,而是考虑与经济和社会的发展相结合的景观规划理念。以吉拉丹在法国埃麦农维尔庄园的实践和平克勒在德国穆斯考花园的实践为代表性案例,分析了规划者的规划思想、手段与实例的影响,论证了欧洲自然风景园中的景观规划理念与实践,讨论了两个案例之间的异同点。以两个实例为代表的景观规划在延续风景园的发展主线的同时,展现了多元的规划视野。欧洲景观规划以风景园为载体,进行了经济和社会的全面改良,带动了区域的全面发展。最后提出了对中国景观规划实践的启示。 相似文献

AbstractBest planning day ever, green, fun, play, flexible … are terms not usually associated with strategic planning. At the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), plans to open a new library building in 2016 have ignited discussions about the library of the future, its meaning and role in a digital world, and the implications of further rapid changes. The Library's strategic planning process in 2010 was an opportunity to take the collective energy further by involving library staff in the strategic thinking and planning. The process aimed to provide conditions for open conversation through Gadamerian play, and creative modelling based on ideas of revealing and imagineering. The planning started with a playful engagement to generate ideas and promote divergent thinking, and moved through several stages of increasingly convergent thinking to arrive at strategic actions, which were created and supported by all participants. The formal goals of strategic planning were maintained throughout the process and resulted in a client-focused annual plan. This article considers issues of organizational creativity and strategic planning, and relates them to experiences with the strategic planning at the UTS Library. It argues for a systematic approach to fostering creativity and innovation in libraries. 相似文献
