陕西省农民组织化调查

文章通过抽样方法,选择陕西省不同地区共16个自然村为样本,从参与表现、参与评价和参与意愿三个层面调查了农民的组织参与情况。数据显示,农民组织化意愿强烈,但组织数量和活动较少影响到农民的组织评价;陕西省农民组织化处于中低水平。分析发现,组织经费和组织公信力则是影响农民组织化的两个关键因素,文章就此提出相应措施。     

乞讨行为的刑法意义思考

乞讨作为世界性的历史现象,是各国均不容忽视的社会问题.对此,各国也都采取相应措施予以规制,但乞讨的违法犯罪现象仍然普遍存在.并有愈演愈烈之势.在中国,乞讨有其存在的经济根源,并且本质上属于法律放任的自由,因此在合理限度内法律予以容忍.但是造成严重社会危害的乞讨犯罪,必然要进入刑法规制的视野,<刑法修正案六>关于组织残疾人、儿童乞讨罪的规定在此背景下应运而生.在实践中,应注意厘清本罪名的构成特征及与之相关的组织儿童卖花行为的司法认定.     

中国男篮组织后卫与对手进攻技术运用对比分析——以2007年斯坦科维奇杯为例

本文采用录像观察法、文献资料法、数理统计法、逻辑分析法、专家访谈法对2007年斯坦科维奇杯上中国男篮组织后卫与国外组织后卫在进攻能力方面进行了比较分析。结果表明，中国男篮组织后卫在外围远投、助攻和突破能力等方面与国外优秀组织后卫相比还存在着一定差距，需加强训练，以进一步提高进攻能力。     

Innovative Organizing Practices

ABSTRACT

The work requirements in the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) set the stage for unprecedented expansion of workfare programs across the nation. Shortly after the PRWORA passed, the Los Angeles chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) began a union-style organizing drive of the 25,000 General Relief (GR) recipients in Los Angeles County's workfare program. Over the past four years the de facto union, in coalition with over 75 allied community, labor, and clergy organizations, won numerous substantive progressive policy changes in the workfare program. In a case study format, this paper describes the following innovative organizing practices and how they contributed to the workfare policy changes: (a) combining labor and community organizing strategies, (b) combining conflict tactics with direct service, and (c) developing leadership from the General Relief constituency.     

Organizing for Structural Reform:

Over the course of the past two decades, the New Jersey Tenants Organization (NJTO) has won significant structural reform for tenants. This article examines the history of NJTO's campaigns, organizing strategies, leadership structure, and organizational dynamics. This article also assesses the prospects for the future in today's economic and political climate.     

The Significance of Planned Community Participation in Problem Solving and Developing a Viable Community Capability

Abstract

During the last three decades, there has been widespread interest in the role of community participation in development. However, the reasons why grassroot participation is essential have not been clearly and systematically studied. This paper aims to fill that knowledge gap. It argues that grassroots participation in community problem-solving (development) is essential for three fundamental reasons. It facilitates: (1) proper problem diagnosis and needs assessment, (2) sound decision-making regarding choice of relevant and feasible goals/solutions, and (3) successful program implementation. Evidence from recent literature and empirical case studies suggests that voluntary and planned grassroot participation fosters these conditions, and as a result, is a potent vehicle for promoting local, regional, and national development.     

Community Self-Help as Strategy and Outcome: The Examination of an Israeli Experience

Community self-help associations (CSAs) are locally-based organizations in which professional service providers and planners share responsibilites with citizens and members for decision making and action. These responsibilities tend to be delegated, at least initially, from more central authorities to local organiziations and shared between professionals and citizens. The Israeli experience with CSAs provides insights into how mediating structures work and compare social problem-solving approaches to social development strategies.     

Women and Work in Family Soap Operas

The starting point of this article is the assumption that images of work and organizing produced by popular culture both reflect and shape actual practices. Among various genres of popular culture, soap operas deserve more attention. This article analyses three local soap operas: one Italian, one Swedish and one South African. All three focus on family life — a focus typical for the genre. We trace the side topic of women at work and women and work, on the assumption that its marginality renders it less likely to contain intentional messages from the creators of the series, and thus more likely to reflect the taken‐for‐granted beliefs underpinning everyday life and contributing to their reproduction and maintenance. We trace the series' connections to local contexts but also look for commonalities that may be characteristic of this genre of popular culture.     

Equity in sustainable development: Community responses to environmental gentrification

Sustainable development aims to address economic, social, and environmental imperatives; yet, in practice, it often embodies a neoliberal market logic that reinforces inequalities. Thus, as the social work profession grapples with its role in advancing environmental sustainability, practice models must explicitly attend to social and economic justice. For example, environmental gentrification refers to situations in which the cleanup of contaminated land or the installation of environmental amenities intentionally or unintentionally catalyzes increased housing costs, thereby contributing to the displacement of vulnerable residents. With the goal of contributing to practice knowledge, we conducted a systematic review of peer‐reviewed articles (1997?2017) to learn how community groups have responded to the threat of environmental gentrification. We found that community organizations employ a range of strategies, including blocking development, negotiating for protections, planning alternatives, and allying with gentrifiers. We conclude by exploring ethical implications and practice principles to help social workers engage in truly sustainable development. Key Practitioner Message: ? The term environmental gentrification describes situations where improvements to environmental quality increase real estate prices, contributing to the displacement of vulnerable residents; ? An environmental justice framework attending to procedural, distributional, and recognition‐based claims provides a model for social work practice; ? Opportunities exist for social workers to take an intersectional rather than siloed approach to integrate economic, social, and environmental concerns.
