The Provider’s Voice: Patient Satisfaction and the Content-filtered Speech of Nurses and Physicians in Primary Medical Care

Two studies examined vocal affect in medical providers’ and patients’ content-filtered (CF) speech. A digital methodology for content-filtering and a set of reliable global affect rating scales for CF voice were developed. In Study 1, ratings of affect in physicians’ CF voice correlated with patients’ satisfaction, perceptions of choice/control, medication adherence, mental and physical health, and physicians’ satisfaction. In Study 2, ratings of affect in the CF voices of physicians and nurses correlated with their patients’ satisfaction, and the CF voices of nurses and patients reflected their satisfaction. Voice tone ratings of providers and patients were intercorrelated, suggesting reciprocity in their vocal affective communication.

二百年前的潮州音

在考察潮人郑昌时所著《韩江闻见录》的大体年代基础上,笔者从中发掘出一些研究潮州古音的材料,并据此对二百年前潮州音的许多特点与声类系统、韵类演变的时间、层次等问题,作些实事求是的探讨。     

浅析英汉请求言语行为策略类型

对英汉请求言语行为策略类型的分析表明 ,汉语中的间接请求策略不适用于CCSARP中的规约性间接策略 ,即不能进一步证明规约性间接请求策略使用的普遍性。根据调查问卷统计结果 ,汉语中最常用的请求策略类型是直接请求。     

认知定向对单双嗓音源听觉词记忆的影响

该项研究通过控制被试识记阶段的认知定向 ,考察记忆、联想同义 (或反义 )词、判断发音正确性三种不同的认知定向任务对单嗓音源和双嗓音源听觉词记忆的影响。实验结果的方差分析显示 :认知定向主效应显著 ;源呈现方式主效应不显著 ;两因素的交互作用效应显著。结果一方面进一步支持记忆的加工水平说 ;另一方面表明当注意资源被引向低水平认知加工分析时 ,低水平加工信息的复杂性将起到抑制高水平加工分析的作用     

PSC“说话”测试的学理依据与界域定位

普通话水平测试(PSC)中“说话”测试的考核内容,测评争议一直较大,不少测试员对该测试项的评分操作难于把握,其中一个重要原因是对语言测试的相关理论缺乏足够的了解。有鉴于此,文章通过对“说话”测试学理与界域的分析,为“说话”测试提供较为科学的理论范式,以求提高普通话水平测试的效度。

Contextual Variation in Stereotype Content: An Investigation of Children's Central Tendency and Group Variability Judgements

Drawing upon self‐categorization theory, we predicted that the content of children's stereotypes concerning the gender ingroup would be contextually variable. Two studies are reported, each looking at five‐, seven‐, and 10‐year‐old children's stereotypes of the gender in‐group in two different contexts. Study 1 examined judgements of the perceived central tendency of the in‐group on specified dimensions. Study 2 addressed judgements of perceived variability within the gender in‐group on the same dimensions. Overall multivariate analysis of the data indicated that central tendency judgements were influenced by the context in which a group is considered, but that group variability judgements were not. Individual‐level analyses showed that the most typical pattern of response over the two conditions, in both Studies 1 and 2, was for children to provide consistent rather than varying judgements. However, in Study 1 (but not Study 2 ), among those children who changed their judgements, the nature of change was precisely as predicted by self‐categorization theory.
