西双版纳傣、哈尼、布朗族妇女的教育比较

本文运用实地凋查资料,分析了西双版纳傣、哈尼和布朗族妇女的受教育情况.指出其共性是民间教育,传播着本民族的传统文化;其不平衡性是各族妇女受学校教育的程度不同.教育差异的原因,主要有生产方式对知识的需求作用,经济条件对教育的影响、宗教教育与妇女的关系.     

Leadership in Voluntary Associations: The Case of the “International Association of Women”

Three models of leadership in voluntary associations have been proposed in the literature: democratic leadership, oligarchy, and leadership by default. Through an intensive case study of leadership structure, differences in the attitudes of members and leaders at three hierarchical levels, and differences between the attitudes and behaviors of aspirants and nonaspirants to leadership in a women's service association, this article examines the degree of fit between these models and a specific organization. Data is drawn from questionnaires, annual reports, and interviews. The results fail to conform to any of the existing models, suggesting instead a fourth model, leadership for self-development—in which leaders are motivated primarily by a desire to develop administrative and interpersonal skills.     

论汉代妇女的家庭地位

家庭是人类社会生活的基本单位。社会政治、经济、文化的发展都会直接影响家庭的发展变化。汉代是中国封建社会早期,许多制度、礼教仅初露端倪或正在形成过程之中。因此,汉代妇女在家庭中仍居一席之地。她们不仅有一定的财产所有权和支配权,还有对家庭成员及家庭重要事务的相当决策权。

有效预防和制止家庭暴力,是保障女性权益的一个重要课题.为此,应建立适合我国国情的反家庭暴力机制,形成以教育为根本,立法、执法为手段,政府基层组织和妇联为辅助力量,全社会共同关注的社会反应机制.

明清时期的江苏吴江沈氏世家,在晚明至清初这百余年间,先后有女作家二十余人.这是值得关注的文化现象.在这二十几位女作家中,既有诗人、词人,也有散曲家、戏剧家,其人其作,表表一时.研究这一时期的女性文学的发展史,对沈氏世家之女作家理应有所关注.     

Beyond the Myths: Equality, Impartiality, and Justice

Violence against women is as much a matter of equality as it is an offence against human dignity and a violation of human rights. As the Supreme Court of Canada has repeatedly recognized, eliminating myths and stereotypes from the law constitutes an important part of remedying the law's historically inadequate response to violence against women. The author explores how the concepts of impartiality, equality, and justice shed light on the ways in which myths and stereotypes distort the truth-finding process and perpetuate discrimination. Looking toward the future, further equality-informed legislative amendments, judicial education, and international norms, such as those set out in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (1979), will provide key means of ensuring that myths and stereotypes are fully and permanently eradicated from the law. The goals of equality and justice for all require nothing less.     

留守女:现代农村社区的一个新群体

“留守女”群体是近年来农村人口流动中衍生出的一个新群体。通过对安徽农村留守女的访谈调查,对其留守原因、生活方式、婚姻状况、群体分化、心理压力等方面作了客观的描述,呼吁政府和社会各界要给予留守女群体以更多的关注。     

Title IX: Help or Hindrance?

ABSTRACT

The goal of this article is to provide a practical guidance for anyone who has experienced sexual harassment or assault in academia and is considering the possibility of pursuing disciplinary measures by means of filing a Title IX complaint. Sexual harassment is an abuse of power by those who possess it against those who do not; the Title IX process does not remedy this power imbalance. And, academic institutions often have interests that compete with the welfare of their students, and which may enable harassers. We address some of the risks that the Title IX process may create for those who are already vulnerable, and suggest that some of the responsibility for enacting reforms should be taken up by professional associations. Because they often control professional journals and conferences, they could be effective advocates for a more fair and equitable educational environment if they choose to take a more active role in discouraging misconduct in their disciplines.     

Using digital storytelling as a source of empowerment for rural women in Benin

ABSTRACT

Digital storytelling offers a combination of traditional storytelling and new technologies that is attracting attention from feminist researchers aiming to co-create research in empowering ways for participants, allowing them to collaborate, build shared awareness of issues, and share their priority issues with decision-makers and power-holders. This article focuses on digital storytelling in research into the role of Mothers’ Associations in influencing families, communities, and political decision-makers to promote girls’ education in Benin.
