An application of ranked set sampling when observations from several distributions are to be included in the sample

ABSTRACT

In this article, we propose a method to estimate the common location and common scale parameters of several distributions using suitably defined ranked set sampling. Efficiency comparison of the obtained estimators with some of the standard estimators is made. Illustration of the results to real life data sets is also described.     

Economic-statistical design of synthetic double sampling T2 chart

Abstract

An economic-statistical design of the synthetic double sampling (synDS) T² chart is presented in this study. The cost function is minimized to obtain the optimal design parameters of the synDS T² chart by incorporating the statistical constraints or the constraints on the average number of samples. An example is provided and a sensitivity analysis is conducted to study the effect of model parameters on the optimal solution of the design. The numerical comparison shows that the synDS T² chart performs better than the synthetic T² chart and the multivariate exponentially weighted moving average chart, in terms of the cost.     

A semi-parametric estimation of a survival function from incomplete and doubly censored data

The purpose of this paper is to present a semi-parametric estimation of a survival function when analyzing incomplete and doubly censored data. Under the assumption that the chance of censoring is not related to the individual's survivorship, we propose a consistent estimation of survival. The derived estimator treats the uncensored observations nonparametrically and uses parametric models for both right and left censored data. Some asymptotic properties and simulation studies are also presented in order to analyze the behavior of the proposed estimator.     

A Modified One-Sided Sequential Screening Procedure Based on Individual Misclassification Error

In this article, the modified procedure is proposed by simplifying the procedure of Tsai and Wu (2002 Tsai , H. T. , Wu , S. F. (2002). Sequential screening procedure based on individual misclassification error. IIE Trans. 34:1079–1085.[Taylor & Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]) by only weighing the screening variables once instead of weighting twice. The numerical comparison of the modified procedure with the old procedure shows that the total inspection cost of the modified procedure is very close to the old one. A theorem is derived to simplify the calculation of all desired probabilities and the expected costs when k-screening variables are allocated into r-stages. Finally, an example of investigating the cycles of failure of silver-zinc batteries is given to illustrate the modified screening procedure.     

基于独立售电公司双角色的Stackelberg博弈模型分析

在新一轮电力市场化改革初期，电力市场输配售还处于未完全分开的状态。独立售电公司作为一种双角色主体首先要与电力批发商针对批发价进行博弈，然后与寄生公司进行市场博弈，形成了两阶段的Stackelberg博弈。本文采用逆推法，先用以价格为博弈策略的Bertrand博弈和以零售电量为博弈策略的Cournot博弈对第二阶段的最优目标进行求解，再通过Rubinstein博弈对第一阶段的均衡批发价进行求解。结果表明：在线性需求曲线假定下，独立售电公司如果采用单一的价格博弈手段参与市场，会陷入无限循环的价格调整，最终被迫退出市场；而若采用零售电量为博弈策略，则即使在改革初期寄生公司具有绝对价格优势时，电力市场化依然可以降低均衡电价，提高市场竞争性。

工程管理专业是新设立的专业,各项培养措施与方法都在积极的探讨和实践之中。从我国当前对建筑业应用型人才的要求出发,提出在工程管理专业设立双导师制的观点,并对双导师制的含义、实施的时间、内容以及工程管理专业设置双导师制的作用与基础条件进行了论述,同时也说明了我们目前实践该项制度的具体情况。
