Fully nonparametric tests for the independence between random vectors are studied in this paper. The test statistics are functionals of an empirical process defined as the difference between the joint empirical copula and the product of the empirical copulas associated to the vectors that are suspected to be independent. The validity of a weighted bootstrap procedure is established, which allows for a quick computation of p-values. A special attention is given to the asymptotic behavior of the tests under contiguous sequences of distributions. Finally, a characteristic of the copulas in the Archimedean class in terms of independence of vectors is exploited in order to propose a new goodness-of-fit procedure.  相似文献

Fisher information contained in record values, inter-record times and their concomitants from a sample of fixed size is derived in general and explicit expressions are deduced for some specific known bivariate classes of distributions. A comparison between fixed sampling and inverse sampling schemes with equal number of records and concomitants is also carried out. We discuss in this paper the assessment of local influence in univariate elliptical linear regression models. This class includes all symmetric continuous distributions, such as normal, Student-t, Pearson VII, exponential power and logistic, among others. We derive the appropriate matrices for assessing the local influence on the parameter estimates and on predictions by considering as influence measures the likelihood displacement and a distance based on the Pearson residual. The paper introduces a new method for flexible spline fitting for copula density estimation. Spline coefficients are penalized to achieve a smooth fit. To weaken the curse of dimensionality, instead of a full tensor spline basis, a reduced tensor product based on so called sparse grids (Notes Numer. Fluid Mech. Multidiscip. Des., 31, 1991, 241‐251) is used. To achieve uniform margins of the copula density, linear constraints are placed on the spline coefficients, and quadratic programming is used to fit the model. Simulations and practical examples accompany the presentation.  相似文献

We introduce two extreme methods to pairwisely compare ordered lists of the same length, viz. the comonotonic and the countermonotonic comparison method, and show that these methods are, respectively, related to the copula T M (the minimum operator) and the Ł ukasiewicz copula T L used to join marginal cumulative distribution functions into bivariate cumulative distribution functions. Given a collection of ordered lists of the same length, we generate by means of T M and T L two probabilistic relations Q M and Q L and identify their type of transitivity. Finally, it is shown that any probabilistic relation with rational elements on a 3-dimensional space of alternatives which possesses one of these types of transitivity, can be generated by three ordered lists and at least one of the two extreme comparison methods.  相似文献

Univariate Birnbaum–Saunders distribution has received a considerable amount of attention in recent years. Rieck and Nedelman (A log-linear model for the Birnbaum–Saunders distribution. Technometrics, 1991;33:51–60) introduced a log Birnbaum–Saunders distribution. The main aim of this paper is to introduce bivariate log Birnbaum–Saunders distribution. The proposed model is symmetric and it has five parameters. It can be obtained using Gaussian copula. Different properties can be obtained using copula structure. It is observed that the maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) cannot be obtained explicitly. Two-dimensional profile likelihood approach may be adopted to compute the MLEs. We propose some alternative estimators also, which can be obtained quite conveniently. The analysis of one data set is performed for illustrative purposes. Finally, it is observed that this model can be used as a bivariate log-linear model, and its multivariate generalization is also quite straight forward.  相似文献

In this paper, we will extend the joint model of longitudinal biomarker and recurrent event via copula function for accounting the dependence between the two processes. The general idea of joining separate processes by allowing model-specific random effect may come from different families distribution. It is a main advantage of the proposed method that a copula construction does not constrain the choice of marginal distributions of random effects. A maximum likelihood estimation with importance sampling technique as a simple and easy understanding method is employed to model inference. To evaluate and verify the validation of the proposed joint model, a bootstrapping method as a model-based resampling is developed. Our proposed joint model is also applied to pemphigus disease data for assessing the effect of biomarker trajectory on risk of recurrence.  相似文献

Abstract. This article presents a framework for comparing bivariate distributions according to their degree of regression dependence. We introduce the general concept of a regression dependence order (RDO). In addition, we define a new non‐parametric measure of regression dependence and study its properties. Besides being monotone in the new RDOs, the measure takes on its extreme values precisely at independence and almost sure functional dependence, respectively. A consistent non‐parametric estimator of the new measure is constructed and its asymptotic properties are investigated. Finally, the finite sample properties of the estimate are studied by means of a small simulation study.  相似文献

Abstract.  The asymptotic behaviour of several goodness-of-fit statistics for copula families is obtained under contiguous alternatives. Many comparisons between a Cramér–von Mises functional of the empirical copula process and new moment-based goodness-of-fit statistics are made by considering their associated asymptotic local power curves. It is shown that the choice of the estimator for the unknown parameter can have a significant influence on the power of the Cramér–von Mises test and that some of the moment-based statistics can provide simple and efficient goodness-of-fit methods.  相似文献
